My biggest comment about these two festivals is about the vibe. I found that EDC is more about meeting people, chatting, having fun, more of an old school PLUR vibe. Whereas Tomorrowland was more about people sticking together in their own groups and partying/dancing with themselves. I didn't feel as welcome as a solo raver to Tomorrowland as I did with EDC. EDC has Cosmic Meadow and other more chill out places. I found with Tomorrowland there was no way to escape from the constant beat of the base. It was really hard to find a place to chill after spending hours in the sun. The Rave Cave at Tomorrowland is fucking awesome though. Getting to hear some of the old school DJS (Hixxy, Styles, Dougal, Scott Brown) playing in an intimate setting brought me back to my (happy)hardcore days of the 90s.
There is a tonne of space in Tomorrowland to chill out - especially if you're camping. Also, I was amazed at how the sound from the stages was gone as soon as you were walking between stages!
Guna be awesome. Camping might be cool. But getting a hotel to and staying on the Las Vegas strip is awesome. They have shuttles so you don’t have to worry. Also you can do pool parties and clubs the week before and after the festival. Gamble. Walk around when and where ever since the city never sleeps. There are different entertainment shows going on aside from partying. Comedians and magicians that week. Plan the best you can! You can take a 45 min flight from Los Angeles to Vegas if you wanted to see something out. See the beaches. And clubs in LA. Plan good!!! Have fun!
Thanks for the comparison. EDC looks cool but Tomorrowland is beautiful. Tomorrowland 2019 was my first time and it was amazing. Best experience of my life. Made friends with people from all over the world. It sounds like it’s easy to get tickets to EDC so I’ll try to go next year.
I’ve done all the US EDC (multi times) including Las Vegas. I love EDCLV but for the comfort, amazing foods (especially the sit down places), and i found TML people more friendly and engaging because of the different cultures. Both are great but this year will be my last EDCLV for a while. I’m planning TML for the foreseeable future.
I've done EDC LV 5 times and Tomorrowland 3 times. Both amazing. But Tomorrowland is the winner for me. I love how so many countries unite. I also like that Tomorrowland has live acts and is more accommodating to custom stage setups for DJ's. Tomorrowland is also great because it's in Europe, making it possible to have a Eurotrip around the festival. The past 2 summers I've done festival filled Eurotrips that ended with Tomorrowland. I haven't returned to EDC since I've started going to Tomorrowland, but I hope to make it back someday.
I attended not only my first festival, but my first ever live electronic music experience in February this year. It was EDC Mexico and I just don't know how to describe it. It was magical. Since then, I've had some goals that I want to achieve. Not only do I wanna attend it again (and also other editions of EDC like EDC las vegas, Orlando, Japan, etc.) or attend another big EDM festival, but I wanna play at them, and nobody is gonna stop me! ^^
Just went to Tomorrowland this past year. I got lucky through the general sales! I got 2 person pre set up tent with passes for $500 a person! I absolutely loved it and made friends all over the world. It was actually my first music festival I’ve ever been too. Next year I will be going to EDC and I am so excited! However, because Tomorrowland was my first ever musical, I am always going to be biased about it!!
Great Video! Been to EDCLV and EDCO both a great! Tomorrowland is literally the best festival I’ve been to! Went to TML W1 2019. I’ll be going W2 2022!
I've done tml twice and did edclv for the first time this year and yes they're totally different!! I always say edc is your younger crazy self and tml is your older more mature self loll but both still go hard af tho haha i love both!
Its going to be my first year at EDCLV so all your tips have been a lot helpful also big questions how much money with camping do you think we’re going to need for edc?
I agree with you, looks big on videos but it's mainly just a hill surrounding it. Not much room for dancing since it only has a small section that is flat.
I went to all UMF Miami, EDCLV and TML this year. Hands down TML is the best festival - only downside is difficult to get tickets. But the stages and atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. UMF - easy to get tickets, lineup was great but new location and shuttle bus arrangement was bad. EDCLV - easy to get tickets. It was way too windy this year, people got evacuated from main stage this year, and the traffic back and forth the venue was just taking so much time.
debatable. the line up was not that great at Tomorrowland but the festival was awesome nonetheless and the location/shuttle accommodation is trash versus edc vegas shuttles.
Danny M never even been to the west side of the u.s so edc Vegas is off the checklist for now. But believe me, the shuttle problem at ultra this year was a damn mess, even if it was free.
Great Video, i would also agree that EDC is better in the fact of having those late night Vibes! Saw myself in one of the screenshots of Yoga this year, front row @15:25..all the way to the left next to my beautiful wifey in the red shorts : ) See you guys at Lost Lands if you do go! Love from Chicago
Hi I'm going to the EDC festival in 2020 and it will be my first festival I have ever attended and I was just wanting to know what I should expect when I go and how much should I spend since it's my first time and I'll be 20 when I go so please give me some insight on what to expect thank you
Now i do understand why people don't dance that much daytime at tomorrowland, the heat plus walking miles and miles from point a to b, no wonder lmfao. But i love the fact that is different, very friendly, very international. They also brought about 1000 artists and djs last year.
Video is on point. Been to EDC LV 7 years and Tomorrowland 2019. Both so different and so freaking cool. EDC week is the best! Clubs and pool parties (day and night) for almost 2 full weeks. Tomorrowland is dope because you can explore Europe before and after Tomorrowland. Everyone needs to experience both! And if you haven’t been to EDC LV you should plan as best as you can to hit as many parties during edc week. I love EDC but Tomorrowland is one whole other vibe considering they have people from around the world.
Im French and went to EDC Orlando, and I just love the american PLUR culture so so so much :( All the love and unity is thrown is your face, I just love it (I did a lot of other US raves and its mf awesome). Im gonna attend to TML next summer for the first time, I really hope that i'll not miss these PLUR vibes (being able to talk to everyone, be friend with everybody, etc...)
I really want to meet you at EDC O! I will have a light up PLUR/Hagrid's roller coaster totem! In addition, I am planning to make my way to TML next summer, but I am holding off on EDC LV for the time being.
I prefer EDC. I'm Belgian myself. Never been to TML, i wanted to go. But some DJ's are just famous people's girlfriends who don't know anything about djing. So it's a hard punch in the face for dj's who are struggling every single day to get booked. (talking about the girlfriend of Dries Mertens, soccerplayer.) . EDC has also dj's who i like like 3lau and other names who never played at TML and are at EDC almost every year! TML is beautifull, i can go every year (if you have a chance for a ticket ofcourse) and EDC is more once in a lifetime because it's far away from Belgium and you can go for EDC & another week vacation in a nice city! :D (sorry for spelling if it isn't right) great video!
When I saw photos of what people wore to Tomorrowland it looked like they were all getting ready to hike haha verses the crazy out there outfits in rave culture in North America.
Europe had its peaktime with PLUR and the crazy outfits in the 1990s. Electronic Music in general was a big thing for many people at that time. It was their childhood. That's one reason why at Tomorrowland a lot of people are between 30 and 40 years old
My broke ass has never gotten VIP for Tomorrowland but my friends always get it and we switch wristbands for a couple of hours to go experience the dope shit there’s literally pools and hot tubs at the festival overlooking some of the stages 🤯
Cotton Kandi Raves Yup, my mind was blown because TML does not really advertise what comfort involves. In that 109F weather it was clutch. Even when it poured like monsoon season 😂
OMG yes yes yes the weather this year at EDC Las Vegas was a huge Factor it was super super super windy so windy they even closed down a couple of stages which I was kind of bummed out about cuz I was anxiously waiting to see Cascade but I ended up seeing ASAP Rocky and making my way further down to see you Sander van doorn at Quantum Valley.. Chapstick was a huge Lifesaver though LOL
Both are amazing festivals, but Tomorrowland wins it iver for me, the ammount of nationalities makes it surreal, plus the experience... EDC is way to americanized, food is horrible and really over priced, bathrooms are chaos, and even tho there are carnival rides lines makes it almost impossible to use them
@@CottonKandi oh wow - I totally get why you wouldn't want to go then. It would be really awesome if another event used some of the traits of the burn in a more comfortable environment. P&L girl! Thanks again for all the great content you put out!!✌💜

I think the major difference is in the culture. EDM has always been acceptable, mainstream, and popular in Europe, while in North America, it was mostly an underground Rave scene. The PLUR culture, while not being named the same, still exists under the "Unity" slogan, which actually means more because you're talking about people from so many different countries and cultures around the world. The dress code for NA ravers, again, is an outcome of the rebellion aspect, while in Europe it's fun but not like a necessity or a strict festival dress code. You will still see many, many people in TML wearing flashy, unique, minimal or funny costumes but a lot of attendees choose to dress casually/comfortably, which leads to the next big difference...Age range. EDC seems to suit mostly a younger crowd who doesn't require rest/sleep and is looking to Rave non-stop for several days. TML has people of all cultures and all ages, from 18 to 70 and sometimes older. Again, this has to do with the fact that for us EDM has always been mainstream and we grew up with it like people in North America grew up with 70's rock bands in their youth and still attend their concerts in their 60-70's. Because the festival caters for all ages, it's mostly focused on the music aspect and less "gimmicks." It's probably also why the festival has a very strict schedule that allows for downtime to assure people have time to rest and recharge. I think TML is considered the best because it truly caters to all cultures and all ages rather than just the younger American crowd.
I havent been to Tomorrow Land YET but I went to Barcelona Beach Fest and the vibes their were terrible. Extremely judgemental ravers and overall I felt like they were very closed minded. EDC vibes may vary cause sometimes there is lame people BUT I'd say 99 percent of the people are AWESOME
From Europe so maybe slightly biased, I'm a huge fan of Tomorrowland and didn't know much about EDCLV however was lucky enough to catch it for the first time at the end of my America trip. Although it was enjoyable I would have to say Tomorrowland is hands down better! Both productions are amazing but TL's attention to detail is unbeatable! The coming together of nationalities, the line up, the logistics even the locals who hand flags outside their homes in support of the festival! EDC was enjoyable, however 2019 weather aside (although did damage the experience) it didn't live up to my hype. it was generally quite expensive as they both are but EDC slightly more, production is amazing but it is basically a big fun fair, but the worst thing was the logistics. That shuttle bus is not good at all... And heard the other forms of transport are just as bad? The deal-breaker is no drinks on the coach, pre drinks would have definitely helped the experience massively, whereas people were asleep on route to the festival! Found ourselves wanting to rather party in Vegas! That being said both festivals are great in their own way, but Tomorrowland sways it on the overall experience!
I was edclv and i dont think it was anywhere near as cold as people made it out to be but i am also from ohio and wind chill is the norm here so might be why... lol
I wouldn't say that the lineups compare. Tomorrowland fills the early slots with local mostly unknown djs and then have some basic famous djs at the evening. EDC has most of the big djs aswell but the rest of the djs that play there are actually djs that are known in the scene but that are just not as big yet like Quix or Bonnie X Clyde. I think Tomorrowland is only better if you are a mainstage person and want to see all the big names at once.
The headliners of mayor elctronic Festival are basically the same, but American Festivals like EDC or Ultra Mimia are more Influenced by Dubstep, Trap and DJs, who are popular and successful in America. Europe has a different taste when it comes to music.
EDC ALL THE WAY...for me! My university graduation gift to myself. On the day of the grand ceremony was the 1st night of EDC & there is no other gift I would of asked to replace EDCLV 2019!!!
