SubSim Meet 2009 - Sailing in the UC3 Nautilus (Part 1)

- Third day of the SubSim Meet 2009 (18/09/2009). We went for the Dive aboard Nautilus. Since we were too many people, the dives were divided in 2 days, this being the first. It was also the most interesting day of all, since, after the dive at the initial rendezvous point for that day, we sailed through the Port of Copenhaguen (which was the most awesome thing we did, right after the visit of U-995) to the next location for the suborbital space rockets presentation, where we docked the ship by ourselves, after a second try of course. :D
Since it was too interesting an event, it'd have been sacrilege to not record it, and so, this day is divided in 3 videos, which total about 28 minutes, and that's been after an extensive trim of the total recording time which is huge. So: this is PART 1.
My gosh, and to think he was planning on assraping and butcher all of you guys. You were lucky.

However much I watch this it always makes me cry because I wish all that murdering never happened. Then she wouldn't have been destroyed. It was so wrong. She was nothing but innocent. They destroyed her just to revenge on that guy.... So stupid. So unfair. If I was the one who ordered to do that I would never do it, not even for billions. Those f*****g idiots are heartless. If they had a heart, they wouldn't treat her like that.
But the most sad thing is that we can't return her.
What about, I wished that the murder never happened because Kim Wall would still be alive? Sure, it's a shame that the Nautilus is gone, but that pig killed a woman.

This thing can't navigate under water. So, it's basically an ugly metal ship that has the ability to sink really deep sometimes, just for fun... Madsen called it a toy. And it was a big toy.

what is the propulsion? also anyone have any idea on how deep it could go?
Propulsion was with a fueled engine (I don't recall if diesel or regular gasoline), and the idea was to have it work on an electric engine when underwater, but when I recorded these videos, the electric engine wasn't installed. About depth, I have no idea about that, I don't know if it was tested, but without underwater propulsion, I doubt they'd risk it. The dives I witnessed were at the Copenhaguen port area, which isn't particularly deep.
It's Diesel, all petrol engines are a really bad choice for confined spaces because of the highly flammable fumes (Tanks in WWII had serious problems with that problem)
It is diesel on the surface, and (now) has an electric motor for sailing submerged.
Calculations says a crush depth of 470m, of course it has never been tested, but 100m can be considered pretty safe.

It's a diesel electric. You cannot use a gasoline engine in a sub. They tend to blow up from fumes.
