Finally had a chance to jump on a walkthrough The CCO Remix Contender 44'. This is the second Collaboration with Remix Sportfishing and CCO and we couldn't be prouder of this build. This boat was a fishing machine/Rocket ship! The Mercury Racing power got us everywhere we wanted to be faster than we've ever been. We want to thank Mercury and Mercury Racing for sponsoring this video.

DAMN! I’m not a big Contender fan but this one is a straight up big Merc BEAST!
Beautiful boat. I love how each 500r outboard is only 720lbs. approx 40% lighter than the mercury 600 at over 1200lbs!
We agree!
now this is a boat!!
We agree!
It’s funny no one ever comments on how much fuel these outboards burn, most people would be surprised to hear this boat burns nearly 200 GPH at wide open, I’m sure your burning 100-120 an hour at cruise….
Wow so only 3 hours at WOT and you’re empty that sucks. 6 hours at cruising speed.
Price ?
how do you afford a boat like that as a charter boat?
That boat needs a Seakeeper 6, not a 3
The 3 does a great job with it. Seakeeper came out with the 4 that would actually be perfect for this boat but we already hade the 3 Installed on it.
56 kts
72 MPH
82 mph
I'd rather have the dependability of XTOs over the speed of R's.
It is a weight thing, not a power thing. XTOs would be too heavy.
@@charlieodom9107 too heavy for what? Quad 450 XTOs is an option on the 44.
@@chris_bjj123 thexboat performs like shit with those motors. They are too heavy.
@@charlieodom9107 🤣
@chris_bjj123 what is so funny? Have you been on one of these boats to see how it performs with different engines?
how much fucking money does a fishing charter make to afford 1.5m boat ?? i dont understand
Well, they aren't paying full price, so maybe not $1.5 m, but just to cover the fuel cost for a days charter wouldn't be cheap 😢
I was wondering the same thing and came to the conclusion that there is no way it can pay itself back through charter fees and it was never intended to. You don't need a boat this extravagant to run a charter business.
I'm sure this is one of those situations where the person only needed a normal charter boat but then pimps out the boat and milks the tax law by calling it all a "business expense." Like, no one is going to pay 50% more for a charter because it has 500hp outboards but you can be sure that the business will still claim tax deductions for the engine upgrade cost.
Charters can be expensive. You could probably run 4-5 charters a month and that pays for the boat and fuel. Also, keep in mind that you dont just go out and buy a 1.5 million dollar boat. You start small and build up. Maybe you start on a 150k boat.
@@christopherkeith5254 this boat is 400g do some math on how much charter fishing has to cost the most expensive charters are sport fishers and this boats equal coast as a sport fisher and this boat burns more fuel
Fishing People Care About Mileage........these 3+engine boats dont make sense to me......they are awesome......but just dont make sense economically
seems like experienced captains don’t like the joystick is it a machismo thing?
If you know how to run a boat they’re not really needed.
A joystick isn’t necessary, but worth its weight in gold for the additional features such as skyhook (Merc) or the Yamaha fishpoint which holds position. The fishpoint is truly a set and forget system
@@bubbleobill267idk why this is so hard for people to understand. It’s so simple.
@@blakemiller748yeah and your lower units will
be changed once a year if you’re holding over wrecks or reefs. Absolute wear and tear on them. Professional captains don’t need it. It’s for weekend warriors and people who don’t know how to run a boat.
@@GulfSoftwash you’ve never seen the Yamaha fish point. It keeps the stern into the current so the boat is just in reverse with minimal turns. Go actually fish on one
Finally a contender w/o Yamaha engines
Finally a contender that won’t be reliable
@@seangreene64 as someone who went through 3 Yamaha power heads in 4 months, I disagree. I don’t endorse the 500r to be anything other than cool and powerful, but beats a Yamaha.
@mosquitofleetfishing6599 the maintenance on the 400r, 450r, and 500r is absolutely retarded.
The seapro motors are much more reliable and easier to maintain.
Hell, even the XS motors are better.
Yamaha makes it an absolute pain in the ass for boat builders to get their engines unless they are a super high volume conglomerate builder or the boat builder does some sort of exclusivity deal.
