Quite the repertoire - this young lad is pulling out all the stops for his mate. I have one here in Tucson AZ and has been singing up a storm AT NIGHT - since April 1 - it's now 10days later, still going strong!
There’s a mockingbird in my area who is very loud. Like 2 AM wailing. Played this on speaker. Eventually he flew over and cased the area. He looked so confused? Then I start hearing the video I just played… it’s him! I play it louder until he stops. Problem solved, right? He flies into MY TREE 😑 and starts copying this video. So I play this video while putting this speaker right under him. I pause ever so often to see if he keeps going. Eventually he’s SCREAMING at the top of his lungs. Then he stopped. He flew down to my part of the back. He just stood there and made no noise. I fed him some crushed walnuts as consolation. Incredible sport. He shouldn’t have tried me twice.
One of em was on the telephone pole right by my fence and it was mimicking a hawk or something. It went through so many different bird calls too many to count
I hate having to sit here listening to more bird sounds, but at least it made the mokingbird in my front yard shut the hell up. One just came up on the porch looking for a dude, where my cat was waiting on the other side of the storm door. I needed that laugh today, thank you!
Today, a mockingbird started singing across the road. I opened my study window, and played this track loudly. Boy, talk about an annoyed reaction from the other bird :)
Just did the same thing. It's the 3rd of April right now. The Mockingbird quit with his ritual song and kept looking my way. He never did come closer to inspect. Probably because I was chuckling the whole time. Pretty sure I blew his mind. LOL!!
I have one that screams like a dieing cat for my dog to come outside and start digging holes so he can get the worms and grubbs. He follows my dog everwhere and even comes in my house and knocks at my door when he wants in. Also, he was raised by his mother bird but also was fed by a little brown wren, i have never seen anything like it.
@@RaoulPop lol absolutely. When he screams and knicks on my door,no matter what i time, im forced to cave and let him in. Hes kind of a jerk but i like him still lol.
Just ordered a super soaker to try and force one of these guys to buzz off and find a new tree to call home. I normally love all animals, but a chronic lack of sleep and being driven nuts by this a-hole all night...I've just about had it. Hey...at least it's non-lethal. My wife talked me out of putting a .22 pellet in his face.
I got one of these outside my kitchen door that’s been screeching all day, not even doing the nice whistling. Like he’s lost his baby or something. Drivin my cats nuts
I love nature and almost all the sounds that come with it. But this bird lived what felt like in the walls of an old house I used to rent in. Every night around 1am this thing went to town for about 3 hours. I would lose my mind just laying in bed rolling over and over. Ear plugs did nothing either, it was like he was screaming these calls at the top of his lungs into a megaphone 😑😑😑.
Well, he's desperate to mate... What helps drive them away is playing the song of another male mockingbird at the same volume and at the same time. Other people have had success playing this video on their laptop with the speakers aimed in the direction of the bird.
He was I'll only bachelor they're the only ones that say night-night I've heard them but not like what you're saying I've never been harassed by a lonely Bachelor Mockingbird

Leonardo Baña Zalazar lol, in a way we do. Men and women whistle at each other. We'd all definitely have to up our game to come close to the birds. Lol
Eh, today's vile Feminist don't like it when you tell them they're beautiful, or hold the door open for them. Cat-calls are out of the question, and approaching one of these feminist-cult members in a nightclub to dance - means they can tell you "NO" while laughing with their friends. ....I'm a female, and always notice how obnoxious these feminist females are toward males. Then, at age 40 and still husbandless, they wonder why they're suicidal.
Humans never really called for a mate lol(youcan ask some random person on the street if you have the guts). Give humans some wings instead and then we'll think about it is what I say X)
I have a family of mocking birds that live in my court yard. Every Spring they raise their baby's and Sing every morning, beautiful Creation from above. I feed them And and help protect them from the bad cats.
I began whistling back at a mockingbird that began singing at night on my apt patio! Now when I want to see him/her it flies right up to me and sings! Is this unusual behavior? It’s the same bird ! It’s almost like a connection I’ve made with this individual mockingbird! Up to this point, I didn’t even know what kind of bird this was! When I walk out to my patio , it’s waiting!
It is possible you've made a connection there. It's also possible that the male sees you as a threat and is simply standing up to you. Two quotes from Wikipedia apply here: (1) The northern mockingbird is known for its intelligence. A 2009 study showed that the bird was able to recognize individual humans, particularly noting those who had previously been intruders or threats. (2) The birds aggressively defend their nests and surrounding areas against other birds and animals.[27] When a predator is persistent, mockingbirds from neighboring territories may be summoned by distinct calls to join the defense. Other birds may gather to watch as the mockingbirds harass the intruder. In addition to harassing domestic cats and dogs that they consider a threat,[11] mockingbirds will at times target humans.
Well I'm awake at 4am. Just heard a mockingbird. 💭 Should I play this to wake up those who just got to sleep? The ones with the loud music... My roommates, neighbors. Good mornings!!
I've heard them here in our N. California neighborhood, amazing range of sounds they have. However, the past two weeks there has been a Robin perched in 30' tree next door, usually on the same branch chirping for about an hour or so before sunset. I believe it's a male and I told my wife I kind of feel sorry for him because he hasn't attracted a mate yet. In the last 4 or 5 years around this time there was a pair of nesting Robins in the neighborhood, they returned every year and used to come down to our backyard lawn to search for worms and grubs. I didn't know what tree they were nesting in and in this latest Robin encounter, I don't know whether it is one of the pair that lost his mate or one of their offspring? I know very little about birds, but I find them fascinating and beautiful, but do Robins keep the same mate year after year? Thanks for posting his voice, pretty cool.
Is it a Mockingbird? I certainly sounds like one, and I Googled for Northern Mockingbirds and it looks like one. I am in Georgia USA. If it is a regular resident in your neighborhood, you can do some whistling and it will pick it up. I used to visit a Parrot in local shopping center and would do the "wolf call" whistle. After a couple of weeks the local Mockingbird had that whistle in it's repretoire! Pretty neat!
