Infantry: We lost 30,000 men
Admiral: True, BUT it did inspire 7 civilians to join our cause
Infantry: Mission Accomplished
Nice
I doubt they have 30000 men.
@@intensellylit4100 They most likely actually do! Remember this is a galaxy, full of millions upon millions of systems. Quadrillions of people made up the galaxy, and most Rebel Sector Defense Forces had millions of people.
Chancellor Palpatine ok Chancellor chicken :)
Mission failed sucessfully
The Rebel infantry survived because no matter how many were killed, there were always more people who hated the Empire enough to go out and get shot at just to hit back somehow.
...You'd think a government run by a Sith Lord would have understood that hatred is an infinite resource.
It is very possible that Palpatine understood that fact. In one of the canon Vader comics, Palpatine explains to Vader that having enemies is the price of power and that there is no limit to how many enemies you get to kill. With that said, it was Palpatine’s own arrogance that he lost at Endor.
@@danielrooney7964 That is... a quote
That fool Tarkin thought having big scary weapons would be enough to suppress descent it's ultimately his fault for the Empire failing. Had Alderaan not been destroyed the Rebellion may of faded away.
@@rc59191 he was no more than a bully, so much so he brought these flaws into the tactics of the empire and how they controlled and guarded the galaxy
You have a, very large point
Does anybody think that they should release a stormtrooper movie? Yet this time it’s not some cliche ‘join the rebel side after seeing the dark side of the Empire’, but rather stay part of the Empire. Like some guy starting of on a low class planet being harassed by pirates. Later the Empire frees the planet from their oppressors, but during the chaos many of the townsmen including some of his loved ones are killed thus giving him a reason to join the military to seek justice in bringing order to the galaxy and seeking to preventing a similar situation somewhere in the galaxy. So him and a couple of friends join the stormtrooper corps and set off. Later when the rebels start to grow in number and he gets first hand experience in fighting them he is given a choice to join the rebel alliance, but as stated he refuses and accepts the imperial truth as the only truth: ‘Rebels are scum’. As the movie progresses many of his friends die during battle making him more battle hardened and increases his hatred towards the rebel alliance. He also rises to the ranks making him more badass as the movie continues. References to dumb stuff that happened in the movies could be included like why they can’t shoot straight etc. This even gives the people behind star wars a chance to expand the lore on stormtrooper rankings and variations of different stormtroopers in the new canon. Then for a final it could have him return to his home world for a deployment as his home world has joined/supported the rebellion and must be forced to comply with imperial rule once again, yet the man that left the planet years ago is no more. Here he can be faced with a familiar face(maybe a girl he liked or an old friend who didn’t join the Empire long ago or even a sibling) who has joined the rebellion, this leads to an epic showdown between the two( although who wins could go either way: him winning and just brushing the person off as another rebel scum and continuing on until he is brutally murdered by a fuzzy bear and eaten alive(just joking) or him just dying and thus becoming a tragedy of war where he just wanted to help by doing what he thought was right and might i add the only thing he could do in his position to help, showing that the war between the Empire and Rebels has no good side). I feel like this would perfectly depict the Imperial’s point of view as the rebels would be depicted as terrorists finally humanizing the Empire or stormtroopers. I also think that this movie shouldn’t be rated for younger kids as it focuses more on infantry life not some plot armored hero who kills the bad guys with a swing of his genitalia. I don’t know just my thoughts.
I agree. Perfect idea.
Problem is that it's kind of like trying to humanise the Nazis. It just doesn't work. Many of the people who work and fight for the Empire might be decent, but the Empire itself is wholly evil. Not to mention its leader is a Sith.
Alternatively, what they could do is tell the story of two friends close as brothers who ends up on opposite sides of the war. Eventually they meet, and they fight to the death. Before that, though, I want to see a post-Episode IX Luke Skywalker movie (assuming he returns to life), a Darth Maul film that ties together Solo with the Season 2 finale of Rebels where Maul trains Qi'ra in the ways of the dark side of the Force, a bro-mance film with Finn and Poe (after Episode IX) where they travel the galaxy in search of Finn's past, and a film about the post-Episode IX Jedi Order. The latter could alternatively be a trilogy.
Edit: What would be cool in the Finn film is if Captain Phasma somehow survived Episode VIII (she might have fallen through the flaming inferno rather than into it) and that she's the main antagonist, and relentlessly pursues Finn and Poe across the galaxy.
Jesus christ I didn't read this but have an like since I looks like it took very long lol
@@Aewon84 the whole being a sith thing wasn't classed as illegal to be in fact nowhere did it state in the republic that a sith wasn't allowed to be its leader the empire had the right kindset its leaders like tarkin vader and the emperor that screw it over
@@Aewon84 almost all movie makers are afraid to have the "bad guys" win which they shouldnt be just once i would like to see the bad guys annihilate the "good guys" like there are so many things in movies where a good hero would 100% die in an any way realistic version but instead somehow gun down like 20 elite soldiers magically find transportation and escape
Given that it was an insurgency, these flaws aren't really a surprise; they were entirely expected. The one tactical advantage that insurgencies have against professional armies is actually their lack of organization; without a command structure - which is what regular professional troops are trained exclusively in (only SpecForces are trained to operate for extended periods without a central command) - it is extremely difficult to completely purge an insurgency, from local to galactic, without annihilating the entire field of operations, which, in this case, quite a few Imperial high officers did - works well in pure battlefields, not so much in civilian centers. Alderaan's destruction - and the Tarkin doctrine in general - made it relatively easy for an insurgency to form and/or continue despite Imperial efforts; the most effective Imperials for combating the rebels were the ones who did not follow the Tarkin doctrine - who practiced what the rebels did: hearts and minds.
In a war of attrition, an insurgency is more likely to win because a professional army is entirely dependent on its organization and logistics. If either are disrupted, especially logistics, the army will fall apart, but if engaged in an actual fight, even if logistics are disrupted, the army almost always wins. These flaws, which are inherent in all insurgencies, are why the rebels avoided full ground battles wherever they could and why they lost most of the battles they couldn't avoid.

Hoth troopers were rebel infantry
They bring up that only Endor and Scariff were exceptional victories whereas Hoth was generally how most ground engagements go. Rebel infantry as a speed bump.
and that went well for them.
That was made up of mostly special forces I believe
Other so far 😂😂😂 and poopy ☺️😸😸 and poopy ☺️ and I miss him so so I can 🥫 it 😅😅😭 I can 🥫🥫🥫🥫
They lost. He mentions that they basically don't have any real land victories until Endor
You saw rebel infantry on the battle of Hoth and the Tantiv 4 granted they were wiped out both times
Omg I just realized that
Beat me to it!
On the Tantiv I think those would be navy soldiers, not army.
I thought the Tantive IV Guys were just Corellian security?
Not, corellian. Alderaani at least. But yeah, they were arguably amongst the better infantry that the rebellion had. Not counting SpecForce that is.
The rebel infantry was the red shirts of Star Wars. A title I once described the rebel pilots as.
I would say those Rogue One rebel troops that joined Jen where also special forces.. not grunts. He says they are assassins and saboteurs or demo teams.
Luke Skywalker killed 1.7 million people on the death star and half a million droids, most of whom joined the military to help provide for their families, caused millions of kids to become orthans, and a galaxy wide recession which caused the galactic economy drop a few points which caused millions of people to become unemployed and homeless, and Luke Skywalker gets a medal for it
They were at war the death star was a military target
Not only that. The rebels acted in self-defense
Emperor palpitine ended the clone wars, eliminated the jedi who started the clone wars on geonosis by interfering with a legal execution, and who attempted to assassinate palpitine as well, and ended corruption in the Senate, but the rebellion were hell bent on restoring a corrupt government that they caused trillions of credits worth of criminal damage, killed 10's if not 100's of millions of innocent people, and had no plan on the aftermarth of the downfall of the empire
And that same weapon killed billions more
Well how many died on Alderaan?Quite a bit more right? So save your hyppocritic attempts to be morale Imp.
So glad you are now doing flaws on the rebel scum. Great video

In the immediate aftermath of the Great Hyperspace War, the Galactic Republic initiated a genocide targeting the remnants of the shattered Sith Empire. Although the extermination nearly drove the Sith species to extinction, several members of the race were able to escape with their religious brethren aboard an exodus fleet. The fleet eventually settled on Dromund Kaas, where the Sith built a new Empire and planned for revenge against the Republic.

Typical, Pilots get all the glory and fame while the Ground pounders get the Shaft.
Despite this, the Resistance or the New Republic still did'nt even bother to upgrade their basic infantry, this shows Disney has no creativity at all.(Sarcastic)
The fact that their grasp on battlefield tactics are crap in every battle they have ever fought? Hoth, Endor (the space part, the ambush was surprisingly a good idea), Yavin IV, Starkiller base, Scariff (space part, the ambush on the ground had some good ideas behind it though, likely due to the lack of the usual command issuing dumb orders) and Crait.. Space battles were risk everything, especially the ones targeted by the super weapons. Land battles consisted of shallow trenches and head on assaults against superior fire power... use some damn tactics!
You never get the sense that their soldiers survive due to being good, just lucky.
I think you're mad at George Lucas, not fictional space tacticians.
@@notalanrogers3173 Mad at him, and Disney, for only caring about the over all plot and not an ounce of attention or care on the numerous battles..
They likely couldnt even beat a tutorial in a Total war game...
Well remember they need the most cinematographic set ups, ones that are visually interesting, over what would be the most tactically prudent.
Movies end up a LOT shorter when combat is just BOOM and over with.
@@DonaldWWitt that is likely the reason, yet Hoth and Crait seem to be inspired by Japanese kamikaze pilots attacking big American ships. The cinematographic of such an attack might be spectacular, but the decision for such a suicidal waste is still obvious.
I have seen plenty of battles in other movies (ww2, lotr, Vietnam, Crusades, Ancient times like Rome and Greece, Middle Ages, etc.), where it looked gorgeous and the tactics deployed had merits to them, so having both is possible.
Nien Nunb, who was in the Falcon during the battle of Endor and at the end of TLJ.. he have had 30+ years to become the most awesome badass fighter for the Resistance and to be given leadership responsibilities, yet he still survives due to nothing, but luck.
@@Senovitj lol. These incoherent, insane ramblings are great.
"The Alien was seal commando ranger."
most stormtroopers were better than rebels except the rebels where more well equipped with ultra high crystalline molecular plot armor.
Only if the rebels have a name. If they don't they are equipped with blaster attracting red shirts to draw fire away from the important people.
Wait, you don't see the Rebel Infantry in the original trilogy? Empire Strikes Back called and would like you to review the Battle of Hoth. They were horribly outgunned and out manned, but they held the line long enough for almost all of the Rebels and their equipment to escape. They had crew serviced weapons, but no artillery, armored vehicles of any kind, or anti-armored vehicle weapons. If the Imperial walkers weren't so slow and had to cover so much distance to get into range after having to land so far away (thanks Admiral Ozzel, you let the Rebels escape and win the war, enjoy your force choking) they would have slaughtered the light infantry line. There was enough Rebel infantry that they did make an armored approach to the base the only viable option, however.
I don't know. I've played Battlefront II (2005) and EA´s Battlefront as well and there was a LOT of dead rebel troopers druring the assault on Hoth...
Well also the rebels got their butt kicked on hoth being desperate enough to use cables as weapons
@@yeetyeet5079 The Rebels were focused on withdrawing before all of the Imperial fleet blockaded the planet and they were sieged. They couldn't spare the weapon systems that could take on Imperial Walkers, like star fighters, because they needed them to escort fleeing ships. To be honest, the Rebellion won the war through space naval assets, the Empire's tactical doctrine flaws, and a fortunately time assassination of the top two leaders of the Empire.
@@KnightsWithoutATable I mean a lost battle is a lost battle the empires objective was to destroy the shield generator and they did it

@@pyeitme508: In that you are wrong budy.
Well you got rebel pathfinders which are spec Force but canon
They can still do it. The only question is will they. I want to see Rebel SpecForce Marines.
He forgot the rebel infantry on Hoth when he said they only showed they on endor
top down, most of those in charge fielded more belief in a purpose over skills, since those at the top of rebel command really weren't soldiers or tacticians. there were few with the understanding of say, admiral Akbar, or a contemporary on the ground. ground units being more likely to be captured, they likely could only afford to train their special forces way behind safe lines, so that by the time the special forces were deployed to Target or Intel gathering, the top special forces personnel and materials were probably off to the next job and couldn't be traced back to a source and eliminated. these facilities likely kept moving after each batch we're trained, perhaps even while they were training even. kinda crude to do on the roll, but it would keep security breaches from ever being very successful
Must have been hard to keep it down to only 10 flaws.
Recently I learned that most battles fought during the Clone Wars were between sentient beings that were neither clones nor droids. Knowing this, there should've been no shortage of combat experienced men to fight with and train the Alliance Infantry.
mass assault vs superior fire power
I typically prefer superior firepower.
So.... USSR vs Germany
2 million equipped with a 5 round bolt action rifle, vs 200 thousand with MGs, tanks, etc.
(Overwhelming numbers wins)
actually overwhelming numbers could still lose that.
seamus finnegan Depends on supply and munitions
This reminds me of the American revolutionary war's minuteman
Allen: The only time we saw rebel infantry in the original trilogy was at the battle of Endor.
Empire strikes back: Am I a joke to you?
Yo dude i just wanna ask. Were there any notable rebel commerce raider units in the war? Kinda like Admiral Von Spee in WW1 or the pocket battleship/Heavy cruiser named after him in WW2?
Everything is flawed except for DA GRaND ARMy OF Da REpuBLiC
Except the complete lack of manpower. 1 million men for a four year long war on a galactic scale. Not happening. World War I required more of its combatants.

Zack Johnson I wasn’t going to but ok
Hey battle of hoth was a good scene of rebel infantry in the orig trig™
One question I have that you raised in this video: just how successful was the Empire when it came to infiltrating the Rebels?
We know that the Rebels had spies within the Empire, usually disillusioned officers and politicians, but how far did the door swing the other way? And what was the rate of capture/defection for these agents?
How many were playing both sides off against each other?
I want to just see more of these.
Interesting list, how about 10 flaws with Mandalorian warriors.
For all you imperial apologists, never forget that the empire orchestrated an all-out genocide of the Geonosian populace, leaving only one survivor of the Geonosian species. The empire literally committed a holocaust against them. This is why, even though the rebels may not be right, the Empire is definitely wrong.
They were just bugs
Their foundries pumped out hundreds of thousands of battle droids on a daily basis. This was the price of treason.
The only thing the Empire did wrong there was leaving a survivor.
This was a neat video. Can you do old republic stuff as well?
For the battle of Hoth part of this video, according to the Book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars Trilogy the Rebel Alliance actually had heavy ground weapons that could have stopped AT-ATs, but their Commander General Rieekan had those placed in a different position. He expected the Imperial Ground Forces to attack from an easier accessable area. But General Veers choose a different, more difficult route over a glacier area, he lost several of his units on that route, but still managed to reach the defense line of the rebels, which had no heavy artillery of any kind. So yeah, it was souly bad strategic planning on the rebels side which made the imperial victory much easier.
Rebel ground forces in the battle of Hoth, just saying.
In Finland during the 1918 war reds and whites were seperated from each other by a white or red strap. So you wouldn´t shoot your own.
It would probably be easy to pick out who is a rebel and who is an Imperial in a ground fight. Just shoot the people in white armor/not in white armor.
@@tanith117 Imagine if there were civilians in the crossfire.
Would a stormtrooper just shoot at everyone not white now?

One of the good things about more independent forces is that they get to make decisions much faster. Comparable to the Wehrmacht in some way. The french army had to wait for orders from the high command before reacting to germans attacks, the german forces on the other hand could act independently to some degree, use time saved from waiting for orders to gain an advantage.

"The rebels did it" xD
Edgelords dude
Alderaan was a rebellion sympathizer, and thus a justified target.
In all seriousness though, most of the time people are just joking or playing a part since they're Empire supporters. Most of them aren't edgelords.
Alderaan was a legitimate target, it was esentially the industrial and financial hub of the Alliance. It was basically the Ruhr Valley of the rebellion. Also most empire supporters agree that the Tarkin doctrine was wasteful and failed in its goals

It's ridiculous and pointless and only makes you people look like authoritive assholes who tries to stop people liking different things which is bitter irony.

@@gabrieltejada1697 I'm not saying not to be a fan. I'm saying don't say they're good or valiant like they do in the joke. Who cares what you're a fan of?
great vid, despite the lack of a standing ground force they still won, which makes tehir victory that much more impressive, tho they only won cause of luke and vader, had the event never happened the rebels would have def lost, and if we take the new disney canon into account they pretty much lost anyways, but we will have to see what happens with ep 9.
Give them a break Allen most of the time they were scraped together on the fly too quickly. Also, most squads did not have enough time to train or plan or do any kind of organizing. The rebellion was too desperate to win the war to put together a legit recruitment process.
Jesus the comment section, filled with a bunch of naive Impiral fanboys, they don't see the bigger picture, but that's only there opinion though. But just remember the Rebellion killed thousands on the Death Star to save the Galaxy from further destruction, while the Empire killed even more thousands not only in Alderman but in other planets as well out of a simple grudge.
The Dark Knight THANK YOU
yet what did it achieve the new republic couldn't hold against the vong forcing them to change so in the end they really fought for nothing (dont mind the rebels just prefer the empire except tarkin he was a huge idiot that didn't know how normal people react) end of the day a mixture of republic and empire is what the galaxy really needs the reoublic was way to flawed and forced planets to remain in it just like the empire
The Empire can do with terrorist want they want in their own galaxy....like blowing up their planet. If there were never terrorists in the empire, there never had been the destruction of alderaan.
but will have to make a small correction the rebels killed millions of imperials on the 1st death star alone afterwards celebrated the fact they plunged the entire galaxy into a depression that would make the american depression look like a joke which probably killed many millions more indirectly
@@drunkgerman8909: If its legends we talking about, than you would know that the New Republic and the Empire become one after the Pellion Treaty.
Rebels = Space isis
Nope they were the french resistence during nazi occupation
wel rebels dont destoyed whole planet at least...
True
I like that the rebellion and empire, aren't bad or good, they are both a gray side, not good nor bad, we the viewers, have put them into those categories.
"Get some pants on that Wookie." was the last thing said by the Sargent of the 99th.
Generation Tech's Jedi ranking is a 0 overall. 1 like increases his Jedi ranking 😉 💯 I trust you guys. May the force be with you 👋
😂 Putting pants on a Hut.
I'm dead! 🤣
You should make a vid on who was the best tactician
Please make a video on 10 flaws of AAT cis tank
Love your comment "Luke the Butcher of Yavin 4". Just hilarious!!!
Hey I’m just repeating what I hear on the galactic news channel ok
I realize my old man was just a janitor but he died on the second battle station when it exploded.
00:50 not true, there was plenty of rebel infantry on Hoth in Empire Strikes Back.
They should make 2 movies, one about the Rebel trooper and one about the Stormtrooper. And actually show large scale ground battles that focus about the infantry.
Make this into a meme please
Rebel navy: swole doge
Rebel army: cheems
Didn’t see rebel ground troops until Endor? So uh did that entire sequence on both just not register with these guys or do they have something against empire?
These guys were pretty damn effective compared to the stormtroopers!
Honestly I want a video about captain how(however you say it) he sounds interesting
0:30 where did you get a picture of Hellogreedo's upbringing?
Wait...we only see infantry on Endor? Well that and Hoth, and standing around on Yavin 4 and fighting on the Tantive 4 .
Alan: we never see rebel infantry
*Battle of hoth*
*happens*
Hoth: am I a joke to you?
Hey guys there's a generation films real size of movie monsters video in your 10 flaws playlist
The soldiers seen on Scariff are special forces as well. They're rebel Specforce Pathfinders. Actual boots on the ground rebels were only seen on Hoth.
I think they should have used traditional hand-held shields made of the armor of died stormtroopers.
(of course kite shields)
"Go all Admiral Ackbar with a suicide vest." LMAO!!! ... subbed.
I think you are slightly neglecting armor weave where cloth looking uniforms can absorb at least some blaster fire. Like when Leia got shot. (However the stormtrooper may have dialed down his blaster power output into ammo saving mode to get as many shots at the unarmored but swarming ewoks.)
On a more serious note, this video does a great disservice to Rebel infantry men and women. They fought and did a lot to battle The Empire and there's a lot of stories and information on this on sites like Wookiepedia and such.
I would love to know the 10 flaws of a X Wing also think it would be a challenge for you as I know you love the X Wing's
Corporal CannonFodder and Major Casualties are my favorite rebels
"if you try to put pants on a Hutt or a Wookie, they'll kill you"
That gave me a mild chuckle
