thanks for the perspective! I used the metcons 1 for table tennis, it was great for lateral movement but im curious, you think you could use these for basketball?
Great question! I guess you could use these for basketball but I wouldn’t. The heal is just too solid for the amount of cutting and running on a full court. I think they would be fine for half court pick up though. I think these are the best trainer for CrossFit right now but they’re not the best “all around for everyday life” shoes. If I was going to use a trainer for basketball, I’d probably use the Metcon Free 1s (do NOT use the 3s. I made that mistake one time and they were horrible for basketball). They’re light, supportive, cushioned and comfortable! Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
@@TheSampleySix I appreciate it my guy! yeah after watching reviews, the only thing that would concern me is the raised heel. I really loved the metcon 1's! I just hoped I could double up on it for table tennis and basketball haha. Thanks again fam, and great review 🦾
Hi thanks for posting a great video! My only question is do you think the many grooves on the outsole of the Metcon 7 pick up more dirt and pebbles than the other iterations of metcon when you workout, walk or run outside thereby possibly causing a more rapid degradation? I have a pair of the Metcon 7 and I would only use them inside the gym and not for any outside workouts or activities.
Hey great question! I have notices that there are constantly tiny pebbles stuck in the groves but they’re always so small they don’t bother me and I’d never know without looking. Any time you get a gripper sole you sacrifice some longevity in material because it has to be softer and will wear faster. That being said, I’m not worried about the wear on the outsole on the 7s because there’s still a lot density behind the sticky part of the sole. I wear them for outdoor workouts all the time but my outside area is concrete and mulch and a little gravel and asphalt if I’m running outside. I would go trail running or anything like that in them but for CrossFit workouts, their intended purpose, I think they’re the best on the market! Thanks for watching!
I really need your advise. I bought the metcon 7 and I am having some severe foot pain. It’s a very hard shoe and I am unable to get it to soften. My feet burn instantly. I can’t help but burn my feet everytime I put them on.
These shoes squeek whenever I walk on tiles to the point I sound like SponegBob. It's not the insole either it's literally the rubber sole squeaking when in contact with the ground. Ideal tried baby powder and WD40 and nothing works.
Unfortunately they are not as durable as the Metcon 6s. I have two pairs of 7s and one of them has lasted about a year and the front has torn up. I have used them a lot for rope climbs though and have been very rough with them. My second pair I did not wear very much and they started showing wear on front of the foot which I was very disappointed about! My new Metcon 8s are coming this week and I’m hoping that they will be more durable! Thanks for watching!
I haven’t tried the Flyease 7s but I had the 6s and they were the same as regular 6s in performance, the Flyease just wasn’t my thing. You should still be fine for running short distances if you use a mid foot strike though!
They’re both great shoes! I wear the 7s as my daily training shoes because they are more stable. For the amount of lifting that we do in CrossFit I would say that the 7s are better but it would completely depend on what you’re doing in them. Thanks for watching!
Soooooo I was going to custom them all nude. BUTTTTT my dream shoe would be all white. What’s your opinion should I just go for it because it will be authentically pleasing to me😄 I know I know they will get dirty at CF but who cares??
Dude I wanna do custom nude too, looking at all Rattan with some white where Rattan isn’t available but im worried theyre going to be too light. Did you ever see any custom nude??

Do you have them tied too tight in the mid foot? How long have you been wearing them? There is a break in period but not very long
@@TheSampleySix I just researched. I supinate with a flat foot. Really bad combo for me to wear metcons.

Hahaha you must have gotten a pair with super sticky soles!

Nice edit Levi!
Thanks! I appreciate it!
aw man, I pulled the trigger on the metcon 7 fly ease, but I heard they suck for running... should had got the laces

would you recommend these over the Metcon 6? I'm looking to find the shoe that covers support for lifting and cardio.
Do you do CrossFit/HIIT style training?
@@TheSampleySix how about yes?
Just ordered a pair of these, I usually do everything in weightlifting shoes but thought I'd give them a g0
Awesome! How are you liking them? Thanks for watching!
Would you say that the Metcon 7's are true to size or should I go up half a size??
They’re true to size. I got my normal size and they fit great! Two pairs for me! Thanks for watching!
