Please remember this when designing trucks, nothing fancy, just well built, easy to work on, reliable, and will last generation. All for a reasonable price.
I agree, but manufacturers don't know how to do that anymore. I've made my living working in the automotive industry for over 40 years. I like the technology, but they have totally forgot simple , straight forward and inexpensive!
Chevrolet... THIS.. This is the Heartbeat of America. Best built, easy to work on, that memories like this can continue. Both my dad and grandad passed away in 2009. Both Chevy Truck guys. This really hit home, that was my grandads truck. And not a day goes by that I don't think about that square body 1978 C 10. Resurrect that feeling Chevrolet.
My Dad passed away a year ago. The holidays are definitely not the same without him. That part where he went to the coat rack, exactly the same scene has played out when I've seen my Dad's jacket still there. He's been gone a year. But I'm thankful that he was present in my life.
My Grandfather worked for GM for 35 years. He was the wisest man I have ever known. He was a diehard GM guy and could build or fix anything. My father was never in the picture any part of my life. My Grandpa took me under his wing and taught me everything I know. I too was the kid getting asked about college after high school but chose the construction industry during and after high school. Construction has provided an excellent life for my family. I owe every thing to who I am today to my Grandpa. He made me a diehard GM fan as well. Current ponies in my stable (‘71 C10, ‘03 Sierra, ‘20 Silverado, ‘18 ZL1-1LE, ‘19 CTS). The Camaro and CTS built where my Grandpa spent 35 years of his life. Thanks for the memories, Chevrolet!
Dude...my dad passed away 5 years ago to cancer and this hit way to close to home for me. It made this 45 year old man 😢 This was beautiful...felt like I just watched a whole movie
Same here. I have a 2012 2500HD with 280,000 miles on it, and it still runs like a dream. I also have a 1969 C10 that I probably drive more often in the summer time than I do my 2012. Then, the 79 Camaro that my dad gave me that he had since before I was born, it was the first car I turned a wrench, the first one I learned to drive stick shift in and the one that taught me everything I know about motors. I love my Chevy's. Never stop loving yours
What a heartwarming commercial. I was able to follow in my dad's footsteps before he died. He was a police Sergeant in NY. One of his proudest moments in life was him handing me my certificate when I graduated from the Police Academy. I never fully realized the pride he felt until I handed my son (his grandson) his certificate at his graduation from the Police Academy. Although my son never met his Grandpa he knew he was there watcing over him. RIP pop, I miss you.
Thank you Chevrolet, I miss my Grandfather who loved his Chevys and we would talk hours about his chevy trucks he had. He helped me purchase my 1995 Camaro as a teenager and he passed away before I was able to purchase my 2021 Camaro LT1. I think of him every time I drive. I am a proud Michigan Chevy owner.
And in your grand pop days we said merry Christmas...screw this happy holidays bs..... like illegal aliens were called just that now they are asylum seekers....wake up America
Always look forward to these Chevy Christmas commercials. This one was top notch, too. Younger people need to hear this message more often: Be who you are, do what you do, not what the "expectations" are.
This hits hard. My grandpa Earl had an 84 c10 long bed in white. 5 years ago my Dad gave me that truck. It has never left our family. Grandpa Earl was my hero. I'm probably close to the same age as Grandpa was when he bought his truck new from the dealer. I've never stopped missing him. The connection that truck gives my Dad and I is hard to describe, this video does it better than words.
Good to see a great commercial featuring a perfect $300 truck (when it was new) showing honest hard working people that makes this country what it is. Good job Chevrolet!!!
This reminds me of when my dad, my grandfather and I would spend time repairing my 77 Chevrolet pickup truck. Without a doubt these types of cars are more than just a thank you Chevrolet for reminding me of this once again.
NOW THAT’S HOW YOU ADVERTISE! What a great message and a beautiful story. DANG. Kudos to the Chevrolet marketing team for making me and my husband cry 😅
Wow! Great storytelling! This hits home for me as we buried my grandfather less than 2 weeks ago at 93 years young. He was a Marine who fought in Korea and came back home and became a woodworker and a plumber. He was my best bud, and we were alike in so many ways. Musicians, both creative, and I have started woodworking in the past several years. This reminded me of Poppop and I'm relationship growing up. He was a Chevy fan too! Thanks Chevy and thank you Fred Darling Scarborough "Poppop" for all the wonderful times and memories.
This hit home. I lost my Dad in February to cancer. I inherited his 1981 C10 Stepside project. I finished it for him! Now, his memories rides with me on a cruise. He had the truck since 1984.
Last year it was Alzheimer's which my Mom is suffering through, This year it's losing your Dad, which happened to us 9 years ago. Hit's home! Thank you Chevy!
Well done Chevrolet! The world needs more young people who want to work with their hands and build things. It's an honorable and fulfilling profession. My daughters best friend is studying to be an electrician, never would have thought she would but she's doing well and loves it!
I was born in the sixties and some of my earliest memories were riding in my grandfather’s 57 Chevy 2dr, and helping him maintain it in his driveway. In 69 I sat on his lap, looking through a Chevelle brochure, unknowingly picking out the color of his next car, a brand new 69 Chevelle coupe. 10 years of helping him maintain that car, still looking showroom new, he handed the keys to me on my 17th birthday… my first car. My grandfather passed many years ago, along with many more Chevy’s in my life. I’m now in my 60’s, a 71 C10, 06 GTO and an 02 Corvette in my garages… about the same age now as when I lost Grandpa… not sure who I will be handing my keys off too. Thank You Chevrolet for a lifetime of memories… Heartbeat of America indeed.
As usual, very well done Chevy. My Grandpa was a Chevy guy. In his retirement,he didn't have much money and my Dad bought him a ford pick up and he hated it and he hated automatic transmissions. My Dad took it back and found him a "67 Chevy 1/2 ton 283 3 speed. He drove it till he was unable to drive anymore and I don't know where that pick up went. I have a "97 C3500,that thing is perfect for me. 350 5 speed. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to all the Chevy folks.
I don't know about you, but all of a sudden, someone was chopping onions over here. Botie boy through and through. Chevy always has the best Christmas/Thanksgiving commercial.
@1:15 When the barn door open to reveal the Chevrolet truck beauty, I was caught off guard with the Michigan Bicentennial license plate in all its glory. I knew I was in for an emotional rollercoaster with the connection of men with their tools and machines. Thank you for this important Holiday message.
Thank you Chevy! The return of Fathers to guide sons, this is one of the greatest commercial moments within this last decade. Welcome back Masculinity,...we missed you.
Thank you Chevy!!! True American 🇺🇸! And why I love my Chevy’s! My favorite vehicle I own and will never sell is my 1985 C10 truck. It’s our family treasure. Thank you Chevy! 🇺🇸🙏🏼
I've had nothing but Chevys all my life. My dad had a 51 Chevy half ton when I was a baby, and always had Chevy piclups till we lost him in 97. I now have an 04 Chevy 2500, an 08 GMC 2500, and a 15 Chevy 2500. Love them all.
Love the commercial! My best friend and I "borrowed" my grandfather's brand new truck when he was out of town. We were 14 and drove that thing around town for a couple hours cruising back when that was a thing. That was 43 years ago, and I still remember that evening and smile. Grandpa never let on that he even knew about it, but I'm sure he knew who put those extra miles on that old Scottsdale.
As a white collar, tax accountant, seeing this yesterday during my Thanksgiving gathering brought tears to my eyes. This is instantly my new favorite commercial and I am so glad there is a longer version of this. I hope when my kid gets older and if he chooses a different path from my path, I can remember this and support him the same way. I wish there were more blue collared classes in our high schools and I wish it was more encouraged because this country needs more handy men.
My Grandpa served with the 101st airborne in WWII, He drove chevys his entire life, I remember him coming home from work in his 78 c10 longed, he'd grind the gears backing into the driveway. My dad had many chevys as well. Today I've owned 4 silverados and currently have a project 1962 c10 shortbed.
Five Chevy powered treasures currently in my stable. Next year is my '75 Silverado's 50th, really impressed with my 2018 Centennial Colorado Z71 crew long bed, '65 Sting Ray convertible mild resto plus an '87 Airstream moho (P30) and '80 Baja 19TC w/Merc 260hp 350 SBC. Not one would I give up and being well-maintained I expect each will return memories and new experiences to someone else down the line.
Simply beautiful. I love that this ad represents men showing earnest and caring emotions. Everyone can relate to having those reflective and heartfelt conversations while sitting in a cherished family car. ❤
a great company it *was*, and i guess if you wanna see how long you can tolerate those constant repair bills and i doubt they'll enjoy having those passed on to them
This is amazing Chevy you hit home for this long time family of farmers with me my dad and his dad all the best time on the farms were with Chevy's and it started with them and it's the only truck I will drive till I die...... as we go down the road of life its Mile after Mile Like a rock
My grandfather passed away last year, he owned many older cars but the one he would always store at our place just so happened to be a 1976 Chevy orange and white C20 custom deluxe with an all aluminum bed topper from the factory. I remember before he passed when I was just a kid me and my father would go for rides in it and if his truck ever broke down or we needed another vehicle that C20 would always be the first one to use, I even remember him picking me up from school on my last day of elementary in that C20. Best believe every singe second me and my father were in that truck he just couldn’t help but talk about my grandfather and how he built this house with him or how he went here with him all out of the back of the same C20. This commercial hits a lot closer to home than I honestly expected it too
This one hit so close to home! I inherited my grandpas ‘88 S10 that he had since ‘89 this year. I’ve had lots of fun restoring it, and my 3 year old always wants to go for a ride in “Papas S10”. So many good memories with him and that truck.
Probably one of the most relatable long commercials for most of us raised in rural America, been around these old c10's and the GMT400 trucks all our lives. My great Grandfather had 3 of them on the farm over the years, my dad had 2 and a Tahoe. These old trucks bring people closer and nostalgia they didn't think a regular old truck would do back then. I don't think there were many driveways that didn't have one back then, too bad the new ones don't hold up as well anymore.
Awesome. Thanks again, Chevrolet. You do it every year. Brought a tear to my eye again. Thanks for being a big part of the fabric of this great country. And heck yea...I LOVE my Chevy truck.
My father had a truck close to that when I was a kid. It got sold . After he passed away I found a copy of it and I got it to this day. The memories come back
Makes me proud to own my Chevy pickup, which yes, I got because I remember as a kid riding in my dad’s pickup (and it’s cool today when we order pizza and my dad hops in my Chevy so we can go pick it up. I love him.)
My Grandpa was a Chevy man until he passed. His last truck was a '72 C20. My first Chevy was an '88. The '88 was replaced with an '02. Now I've got a 2016 and 2021. Bow Ties rule! Miss you, Grandpa!
Chevy please make vehicles for generations again. My best memories growing up are in what is now my 72 chevelle SS handed down to me. That car is my most prized possession every minute behind the wheel feels like grandpa mom and dad are right there in the car with me
I miss my hand me down ‘78 C10 Bonanza…my dad picked up a new ‘87 C10 Silverado. I only truly had it for 2 years exclusively and had over 300k on her before I left for my 2nd overseas tour of duty in ‘89 and gave her back to my dad. I grew up driving that truck as I became of age in the late seventies and early eighties.
My sister got the good grades and went to college, I went into the military and did the skilled trades thing. We're both successful adults. I'm proud of my little sister and I'm proud of the good life I've made for myself going the other route.
Please remember this when designing trucks, nothing fancy, just well built, easy to work on, reliable, and will last generation. All for a reasonable price.
Car companies make money from big car loans, so they make expensive cars that don't last more than 10 years.
Lol that’ll never happen
I agree, but manufacturers don't know how to do that anymore. I've made my living working in the automotive industry for over 40 years. I like the technology, but they have totally forgot simple , straight forward and inexpensive!

AMAZING! Filmed in my hometown of Chelsea MI!!! I even saw them the day they filmed. So cool Chevy thank you
I lived there for 10 years. Cedar Lake.
Born & raised in Chelsea, graduated 1994 from CHS. My parents and one of my sisters still live there, loved this commercial and seeing familiar spots❤
Same! Born and raised Cavanaugh lake ❤
Mine too. Recognized a lot of places. Back living here again.
Literally same, I’ve been across that railway so many times

I cried watching this one too brother. You’re not goin through what you’re goin through alone anyways for what it’s worth.
Same here man my dad passed a few years ago when I was 26 my chevelle I inherited is where I feel connected with him
Good job, Chevrolet... this hit home, I have my grandfathers 1966 C10 that he bought new in Chattanooga, TN. Lots of memories.
How special - thank you for being a part of the Chevy family!
My baby brother is refurbishing his 1967 chevy using using original parts. I can’t wait to drive it again in Las Vegas.
These are the commercials all American company’s should be making. Owned many Chevy trucks and still do. Like a rock
GM is an embarrassment to modern vehicles being built by real car makers
i hope Trump slaps a tariff on all those GM trucks made in Mexico.

The America I grew up with.
My Dad was a Ford guy. I am a Chevy guy. This commercial hits the ol feelers for sure. Im not crying. You’re crying. Great job Chevrolet. Great job.
Can’t unsee them, driving around with the truck in park (just after 3:00). Still fantastic.

My Grandpa was a Chevy man until he passed. His last truck was a '72 C20. My first Chevy was an '88. The '88 was replaced with an '02. Now I've got a 2016 and 2021. Bow Ties rule! Miss you, Grandpa!
Once again, another great commercial from the General.
Simply a superb commercial with a wonderful message. Thanks, Chevrolet!
Not a Chevy man but this commercial speaks volumes to me! Great job Chevy. Happy Holidays.
My goodness. What a beautiful commercial.
Your holiday commercials always hit me in the feels...
These hit hard
I sold my 1981 50,000 mile GMC Sierra 1500 earlier this year. I cried almost all the way through this video.
Quite brilliantly executed and definitely a tear jerker. Well done.
Wonderful commercial. Real America.
Chevrolet, why you gotta make me cry every year?
Wish they'd make a truck that looked half as good now!
Wow Chevy! Great job! Your best commercial in years!
Watch last year’s holiday spot
Damn you, Chevy…….that was a truly wonderful commercial.
My sister got the good grades and went to college, I went into the military and did the skilled trades thing. We're both successful adults. I'm proud of my little sister and I'm proud of the good life I've made for myself going the other route.
