Electromagnet Induction demonstration

  • This video shows the operation of an electromagnetic induction. The coil consists of two windings of copper wire, "the primary coil 1, the secondary coil 2." The primary coil is composed of 220 turns of wire 0.40 mm. The secondary coil is composed of 120 turns of wire from 0.85 mm. The system supply voltage is 28-30 volts AC.
    Explanation of the operation: in the spool of wood were wrapped two coils of copper wire separate between them. When in the central hole of the spool is inserted an iron core, the coil reacts by creating an electromagnetic field. Conversely, by exchanging the terminals of the coils, the electromagnetic force is canceled at the terminals of the wires.

    This is not how to teach. Only those who already understand Michael Faraday's experiments on induction will get anything at all from this. For newbies, the absence of a wide-angle view showing the 28-30Vac current being supplied, and the absence of any on-screen information simply creates more questions than answers. A waste of time.

    I think something is not right in this experiment.
    1. The bulb should only glow with the relative movement of a magnet wrt the coil.
    2. The bulb should glow much bright when the movement of coil is moving in and out rapidly but here the bulb glow inspite of that magnet being still
    3. Full circuit not visible hence nuclear experiment
    4. That doesn't even look like a magnet...it looks like a iron rod imo

    • @Greg_Chase
      @Greg_Chase Год назад

      He says in the description "The system supply voltage is 28-30 volts AC" so he is applying (via the two black wires) an AC voltage of 28 to 30 VAC to the primary winding.
      The statement in the description "When in the central hole of the spool is inserted an iron core, the coil reacts by creating an electromagnetic field" is not accurate. The moment he hooks up the 28 to 30 volts AC (VAC), the primary winding creates an electromagnet. There is, in fact, electromagnetic induction ONTO THE SECONDARY WINDING the moment he applies the 28 to 30VAC to the primary winding.
      So - if the secondary already has an AC voltage in it, why does the light bulb only light up when the metal rod (which is not a magnet) is inserted?
      Well, you just need to be a bit OBSERVANT to answer this question.
      CAREFULLY NOTE that the brightness of the bulb gradually INCREASES as the rod is gradually inserted further inside the transformer.
      This shows two things:
      1) that the electromagnetic field is strengthened, incrementally, gradually, inside the coil, with the help of the metal rod
      2) that the light bulb has a threshold of electromagnetic induction required *_IN THIS PARTICULAR TRANSFORMER_* to light up (brighter and brighter).
      A physical analogy is this:
      1) your car's electrical system requires a 12 volt battery
      2) you let your car sit so long, the battery went flat and fell to 8 volts
      3) you open the trunk and the trunk light does not light up, and you hook up your battery charger (why is the battery in the trunk? - because you have a mid-engine exotic car like a Lotus Evora GT or a Lotus Esprit V8 twin turbo)
      4) you notice that with the battery charger charging up your car's battery, the light inside the trunk at first starts to glow dimly
      5) then the trunk lamp glows brighter (you have the trunk lid open because you're charging the battery, remember)
      6) finally, the trunk lamp is brightly lit and the battery is fully recharged to 12 volts
      You go away thinking "I'm waiting for the Lotus Emira to come out next year anyway) well get in line
      .

    That- that's not even electromagnetic induction. As far as I know,
    1. The bulb glows brighter only when the magnet is moving. It does not matter whether the magnet is inside or outside. When the magnet comes to rest, the bulb returns to it's original brightness.
    2. The bulb should glow brighter when the magnet is moving faster.
    Please correct me if I am wrong...

I simply asked him whether he was joking, 'coz it seemed to me like he was kidding... that sounded like an insult to you? And it looks like yes, he indeed was simply joking... he wasn't serious. Everyone knows that there is no 'free energy' (if there is any such thing at all) involved in the pulling of a ferromagnetic object by an electromagnet. I dunno what 'enthusiasm' you're talking about... it was just a silly joke. Besides, if you write something stupid, like "this video is fake" and so on, it doesn't mean you're trying to learn or anything... it means you're stupid... calling something fake CONFIDENTLY, when you don't know much about it. It is like saying "this medicine doesn't cure this disease; the doctor is telling a lie", when you don't have adequate knowledge about the medicine or about the disease.
      I will comment wherever I like... if you have a problem with that, I can't help it... so, better learn to deal with it. Even if I am obsessed with the video, do you have a problem? I am a little obsessed with electricity, tbh... just as you are probably obsessed with Tokyo Ghoul

      In the second case, he connected the 2 inductor coils in series, such that they were cumulatively coupled. This caused the self-inductance of each coil to get added up with the mutual inductance between them, increasing the overall inductance of the circuit, which in turn increased the overall circuit impedance. Thus, the current in the circuit reduced, causing the bulb to glow dim. But, when he took the iron core out, the self inductance of each coil & also the mutual inductance between them, all reduced drastically, reducing the overall circuit inductance, & hence, reducing the overall circuit impedance... this caused the current in the circuit to rise, making the bulb glow bright.

      This video shows the operation of an electromagnetic induction.

    For sure you did not exchanged the terminals. You changed just one. So, for anything still work, you DO NOT have two SEPARATE coils. Otherwise you have no way to have any current! What you did was - supposedly - just connect the power source to one terminal in each coil - ending up just isolating the source. To induce current this way, only if you have very HIGH voltage in your green terminals.

    Cuanto dura el flujo eléctrico y qué potencia tiene????

    • @ElectricExperimentsRobert33
      @ElectricExperimentsRobert33  6 лет назад

      El flujo eléctrico dura hasta que se conectan los cables eléctricos. No he medido el potencia.

      Electric Experiments Roobert33 y cuantos minutos es aproximadamente y gracias por responderme saludos

      Los minutos no cuentan, tiene poder hasta cuando, usted decide que desenchufar el cable de alimentación, y se detiene.

    Simply plug the bulb to the source to compare the brightness

    • @ElectricExperimentsRobert33
      @ElectricExperimentsRobert33  10 лет назад

      But of course as you say .. but this video is just to show the function electromagnetism.

      Ok.
      (EN)In the first bolt increases the electromagnetic coupling. Second bolt increases inductance.
      (RUS) В первом болт увеличивает электромагнитную связь. Во втором болт увеличивает индуктивность.

      Во втором подключении последовательно к обеим обмоткам, имеем просто дроссель. В первом, трансформатор.
      Second connected in series to both windings have just choke. In the first transformer.

    thats not true! in order for the bulb to continue lighting there must be a constant changing of magnetic field.

      Ignoramus! The supply was *AC* and *not DC.* So, the magnetic field already WAS CHANGING CONSTANTLY, just like in case of a transformer. Go educate yourself!

      Wo magnet nhi tha... wo just ek iron ka core tha... supply AC tha, DC nhi... jiske liye emf induce hota rahega, irrespective of whether wo iron ka core move kar raha hae ya nhi... just ek transformer ki tarah
