Beautifully sung and he is either actually playing the flute part or is doing an exceptional job of appearing to do so because his fingerings are correct and exactly in time.
@@CamoflaugeDinosaue I'm wondering the same. But as far as I know he was able to learn how to play many instruments when he was at school and he was know to be proficient with the flute. Another thing that I noticed is the actual flute: it looks like a real one but the technicolor doesn't help too much because can't differentiate between a very well polished flute or a plastic/glass prop.
@@dnor16 very well may be a real flute, but the patterns he is making with his hands don't match the music at all, sometimes his hands don't change at all but the notes do, a few times the music starts before he gets the flute to his mouth. - little things nobody cares about, but he's definitely not actually playing. I see no reason why they ever have the tenors play the flute - you've got a perfectly good one in the orchestra, and having to play the flute just distracts the tenor from their real job.
@@CamoflaugeDinosaue Well yes, but would be a really good achievement to do in the rehearsals, but in the end you're right. I would like to try it one day after I get back to training, 5 years of Uni workload rusted my voice.
Wie stark ist nicht dein Zauberton, weil, holde Flöte, durch dein Spielen selbst wilde Tiere Freude fühlen. Doch nur Pamina bleibt davon. Pamina! Pamina! höre, höre mich! - Umsonst, umsonst! - Wo? wo? wo? ach wo, wo find’ ich dich? - Ha, das ist Papagenos Ton! - Vielleicht sah er Paminen schon! - Vielleicht eilt sie mit ihm zu mir! - Vielleicht führt mich der Ton zu ihr!
I just appreciate the costume design of the animals, since it seems the closest representation of what would be design in the late 1700s.

I dont think he actually plays it
Definitely not playing it, but faking it well enough for sure.

@@klang7445 he means nothing else than " There will be no one ever that comes even close to Fritz Wunderlich as Pamino " and for sure , he is right.
@@sch8mid I know that Fritz used to play the flute back at his school years. Do you know if he's playing the flute in this recording?

I think they used technicolor to make this recording RGB.
