Ouch, saw feelgood circa 1975 ? with NME 50p vouchers at Brighton Dome and bumming a lift at about 16 years old. lee brileaux and wiko looked like escaped convicts. never seen anything like it before or will ever again. tightest band ever. the Big Figure and "Sparko" sparks in the background made this an unbeatable quartet, I feel so priveledged to have seen them, never said that about any other band.
1975, I was 14, jumped on the bus after school to go to Halifax Victoria Theatre to see Dr Feelgood, Down by the Jetty tour. John Cooper Clark as support. . Bought the album the day after and still play the LP at work all this time later . I bought a mint 80;s stereo system to get the record player bit and never looked back, still love it today......now i'm 59 LOL. Great stuff. Thanks Timewarp stuff.
Mark, Nine years your senior and JUST stumbled upon The Doctor about six months ago. Now, I enjoy Hendrix, Stones, Frank, Led etc. BUT, when i want to tap my toes, put a smile on my face and just have fun and enjoy...well...these guys are (you guessed it) just what my Dr. ordered! Ooooo, bad!
Rock'n'roll, blues, boogie woogie, here are so perfect in their essence to be used as practical lessons to play them. Well done, MazNour II .... !!!!!!
Same here. I was 13 when I heard this for the first time in 1975 when my cousin bought it. Man we played that album non stop every chance we got. Still love listening to it.
I saw them play live when I was a student at the University of Leicester in the early 1980s - the band was booked as the prime entertainment at an end-of-year Hall of Residence ball. Brilliant. Lee Brilleaux really on top form as ever - and a great live band; even without Wilko Johnson who had left the band by then. Still listen to their stuff to this day - a truly great British Rhythm 'n' Blues band - very underrated !
@@user-wp8vy8le3y Hi, mate just saw your reply. i was 17 when i seen them it was such a great night we weren't seated i remember us dancing around a great night. I've seen a lot of local pub bands in Leicestershire i enjoy them gigs when you're up close. wilko had a great rhythm style. take care tone.
young so called rock stars. listen and learn from the masters. at their peak no one could touch them. supported them once at redding uni. absolutely incendary.
Damn! I've e never heard any of these before! Its groovy! Outasight! RightOn Brother! Far Out! MaZnour thank you! For awakening me/us to new/ old music!
They just turned up and started playing no frills one of those bands that once heard you dont forget especially at age of 16 i wonder if the kids of today would give them a listen
Still sounds great whatever you mess with you can't remove the immediacy. When I bought it the legend was that the band insisted on the album being mono recording and pressing to stay faithful to roots rock n roll. Hard bastards.
Have recently read Wilko’s autobiography, “Don’t leave me here” .He says the record simply didn’t work on stereo , unbalanced….better with mono. He didn’t want to make it an issue or even have it mentioned on the sleeve .
Its amzing when i hear "Don't you know it" my ears pick the off beat, and then i wait for the proper beat its never there. So the whole song must be off-beat i'm thinking.....love it!

Love the wilko rhythm and lead sound with one guitar. I see him live and it was the booooommmm 1🔥
My favorite Dr. Feelgood album, very close with Down By The Jetty. Dr. Feelgood was the perfect pub punk band.
RIP Wilko. Loved their genuine unvarnished sound. Their pub rock sound turned me on to others of their ilk, but they were the best of the bunch.
Bon voyage Wilko

@2:27 that scream hidden in the mix... wow never noticed before!😳
2:27? right time slot for that scream ?
Se escucha la influencia de un estilo perdido en el tiempo llamado chiken!estilo poco difundido.
HAY 2 PAPAFRITAS
No han probado nunca el Milk and Alcohol! Ahora hay 5 PAPAFRITOS!
..quality sound is not good! ..sounds distant. ..somethings wrong. ..not a good remaster, ..at all!!
