Sounds beautiful with the violin through it... Suggest doing the Pitchfork+... Thanks for posting this... ☺️
Thanks, Shaigh ... will have to look into the Pitchfork+. There's always a new "upgraded" pedal ... love the footprint of the original Pitchfork however .👍. T
Another fantastic video, Trevor. Love your demo's the best. You are an accomplished player, Great sounds !!!
Thanks, EK! T
Trevor the king! EHX should pay you. best review so far! where's the video 2?
Very kind of you, Vinnie D! Thanks. Been really busy recently with some Canadian tour planning, so have had to put my pedal reviews on hold for a short time. Plan to get back to it ASAP, though. T
Dude, you are awesome! So many great examples and ethereal tones. Thanks for your insight and time on this.
jzplayr, you are welcome! T
Nice. I have an ancient Pearl octave divider pedal that does 2 down and one up. Always loved the sound of that - very similar. Good to see your Cantini back in service!
Cool, Harlow. Yes, good to have the Cantini working again ...
Great demonstration, thank you.
You are welcome! T
Hey Trevor!! Sounds great!!!!!
Thanks, Franz. Really looking forward to showing some of the advanced features next!
Have you tried Electro Harmonix POG2? Looks really attractive, althouh I've found reviews with guitars only...
Your Pitchfork review is great, very informative and I love the sound...
ElenathSilivren, no, not yet. Does look good. I like the footprint size of the Pitch Fork and live control pedal options. Does the POG2 have those features? Glad you liked this review. Advanced DEMO 2 coming soon ... just have to clear a few other projects off my plate 😏 ... T
I'd like to see you and your son duke it out with this pedal to compare e-cello to e-violin, especially octave up cello.
Mark Kosmowski, ha, ha! Great idea ... T
I've ordered 3 of your demo'ed pedals for my CR-5 board.... Exp., Pitch Fork & the Sparkle Drive Mod. You convinced me that these pedals can add depth to the sound pallette I hope to continue to develope. I want to pick up a dual expression pedal (EV-30 Dual) so I can maximize RE on my Pedaltrain. Have you had any issues trying a dual pedal for, say, a Pitch Fork & my Boss RV-6? Thanks
Wow man! Let's chat ... Email me at trevor@trevordick.com and we can set something up ... T
#EXCELLENT!!!
👍, Aristedes! T
Trevor, I got a new Pitch Fork, and its 25% white noise. The effect is really nice, but the pedal is unusable, especially when idle. I see in your video, you can click it on, and there's no white noise. I dont understand. Are you using a noise gate? Or was it customized so it doesn't sound like a window fan in the middle of summer?
@jzplayr, It shouldn't be noisy. Something's gotta be wrong with either the PitchFork pedal or your signal chain. How are you powering the pedal? Are you using a power supply? Also check your 1/4 inch cords. Make sure there is nothing wrong in the signal chain. If nothing seems to work, I would return it and try a different one ... T
@@TrevorDick Hey thanks for the input...I have a Boss delay and compressor, those are completely quiet with my snark power, cables, and blues jr...also with Crate CA30D. I've had other pedals that have the 25% white noise. It would be odd if my snark and amp cause that sound, as it doesnt happen w other pedals. Anyway, I'll try another pedal...and...thanks again for your great tones!
@@jzplayr I’ve got the same issue with mine. Plug in a different pedal in the same spot, no problem. It’s the PF. There might be quality control issues w/EHX as some PFs are fine, like Trevor’s, and others are totally noisy. I’m shopping around right now. The PF sounds great with violin, I just wish they’d fix the noise issue because it comes up too often.
Great demo. I am about to get an electric viola, I took up viola, which I love and used to play cello. How expressive/natural is it with the drop tune, with no mix, so the violin is an octave down? Have you tried other similar pedals? TC electronics brainwaves, sub and up, digitech drop?
Glad you enjoyed, @bpdarragh ... I am sure it would work well fro drop tuning. If you want just an Octave and not all the other pitches, the EHX POG is also a solid option. I am not familiar with the Brainwaves and Digi Drop although I am sure there are lot's of demos out there for guitar! All the best! 👊 T
@@TrevorDickThanks mate, I opted for the digitech drop in the end. Amazing pedal, instant cello on my electric viola. You do have to up the upper mids and treble a bit though I found as these are lost when the octave down is activated. Works brillianly with my electric guitars as well, no lag, doesnt lose clarity. Cheaper ones can sound like a cutlery draw being thrown down the stairs, esp with chords, when you go lower than 3 half steps.
I love watching your videos. I have only been playing a couple years. Learned just watching RUclips videos. You inspire. I learned to play specifically to play at church. You inspired me so much I just started my own channel so everyone can see my progress. Come check it out
Awesome, Bobby! Keep going! T
I'm looking for something like this but portable, usb battery powered. Any recommendations anyone?
Don't know of anything like that ... anyone else out there know? T
Hi sir, how are you?
I am Anant from gujarat(india)
witch is Best pickup and pitch shifter for my an acoustic violin? I like electric violin but I have not experience with it.
I waiting for your loving replay.
Thank you....
Hi Anant! Thanks for your comment. Make sure you subscribe. Lot's of great pick-ups out there for your acoustic violin that will work with effect pedals. The Pitchfork Pitchshifter is excellent, but there are many others as well that would work well for you. You should join this group and ask the question there: facebook.com/groups/ElectricStringPlayers/
Thank you sir.
Has that advanced video made it online yet?
BTTH, not yet. It's in the "release funnel" - just been sidetracked with my #GloryAndPeaceTour this month ... this will be next in the series shortly. Will let you know when it drops. Thanks for your interest! T
Good work!!! I am thinking how it will be working with distortion pedal :D
Thanks, Szymon! Works great with distortion and overdrive. Will demo it with drive in the next video, so stay posted. Subscribe to my channel for more ... :-)
Of course ;) I am looking forward :)
Awesome! T

Kemanci, not sure I understand your question? How do you tune your violin, or how do you dial up the settings on the Pitchfork?
Hi,would you please tell me how much the violin with pitch fork, thank you

Hello sir, Goodmorning.

I am a violin student. I have a doubt about the effect pedals.
That is , The effect pedals of guitar used for violin effect ? Both are the same ? Or different.
Can I use a guitar effect pedal for my electric violin ? I am vaiting for your valuable advice.

Hi Mohammed! Thank you for contacting me. I also got your other messages on my website (TrevorDick.com) and Google Hangouts. I'll answer here. YES, you can use guitar pedals on the electric violin and they work excellent. All the pedals I use were created for guitar. I tweak them a little to enable them to work for the electric violin at their optimum performance. Any multi-effects pedal will work well. Zoom pedals are good for the price. Boss/Roland also make a great multi-effects pedals. All the best in your music and electric violin. If you are on Facebook, I invite you to join the "Electric String Players" group here to ask any more questions: facebook.com/groups/ElectricStringPlayers/ - T
