  • Free fentanyl resources & short (6-min) Youth version at www.naturalhig... “Dead on Arrival,” is a short film about fentanyl’s deadly role in the U.S. illicit drug market. In early 2021, the CDC announced that 93,000 citizens perished from opioid drugs in 2020, and that 70% were killed by fentanyl, driven mainly by counterfeit opioids and tainted drugs purporting to be something else. The PSA, “Dead on Arrival,” was produced, written, directed, and photographed by Dominic Tierno and Christine Wood.
“Dead on Arrival” is focused on the people at risk. Those at risk include casual users, partygoers, experimenters, regular users, and even unsuspecting bystanders who may come into contact with the powerful opioid. The film explores the stories of four families who lost loved ones to fentanyl in various ways and its larger impact on communities of all types.
In addition to the suffering and pain that fentanyl has brought to families and neighborhoods, the film is also a primer on what makes this epidemic so deadly and pervasive. It looks at the manufacture, counterfeiting, marketing, and distribution process that allows fentanyl to sneak into anyone’s home.
The interviews in “Dead on Arrival” are powerful first-person accounts of fentanyl deaths told by surviving parents who started V.O.I.D. (Victims of Illicit Drugs), a foundation created to spread awareness and educate others in order to prevent further lives lost.
    Stories include:
Amy Neville survived her son, Alexander Neville (14)
Steve Filson survived his daughter, Jessica Filson (29)
Jaime Puerta survived his son, Daniel Puerta (16)
Matt Capelouto survived his daughter, Alexandra Capelouto (20)
The opioid crisis, birthed by pharmaceutical companies, has been supplanted by the fentanyl epidemic. Through counterfeiting, fentanyl and its analogs now account for nearly all of the illicit opioid market and is easily found in heroin and non-opioid drugs like cocaine, MDMA, Xanax, Ketamine, as well as many more “designer drugs.”
The statistics in this video are from 2020. Please check the latest stats on fentanyl use at www.dea.gov/on...
In 2023, the DEA confiscated over 62+ million counterfeit pills, and 7 out of 10 pills contained a lethal dose of fentanyl.

This is such an important message. I hope it gets more views. I've lost 3 nieces and a sister to overdoses all within a few months of each other. My son was in treatment 2 separate times and is now interning to work with people in recovery. There is hope.

As I mother, grandmother, and teacher I worry about this everyday! I cannot say it enough! Don't get to curious about something you have no control over! Manufactors, dealers, and users do not care if you use fentanyl once or everyday - your life means nothing to them! You are a simple transaction! You are worth so much more then this!!

There is only one part of this video that is fake. It's impossible to simply touch fentanyl and die. It must be ingested: nasally, orally, smoked, or intravenously. This simply serves to scare others away from helping someone during an overdose. Recovering addict.

    I’m literally sobbing right now😣
This April 27th will mark 3 years since I was found on a McDonald’s bathroom floor overdosing from fentanyl.. I had just lost my best friend a month before to fentanyl and then I had relapsed.. I’ve struggled with drugs my whole life, I’m 27 and this April 27th will also mark 3 years of real sobriety for me. I haven’t touched fentanyl or any drugs since that day at McDonald’s.. I legitimately know close to 10 people who are now gone because of specifically fentanyl. It’s so scary and knowing what I know now I always say I hope some day I can help others who have struggled with this like I have.. this was a good video! Thank you for sharing🖤
If I could tell that dad who lost Jessica anything, I’d tell him that when he asks why she did it even though she knew it was dangerous.. it’s because addiction is a mental illness. When you can’t bare to be in your own skin your not thinking of that - you just want some relief. I’ve seen it happen so many times. A lot of these people struggle with other mental illnesses that in order to cope they start using. We need better education on mental illness and we need better access to good mental health professionals. Just because you don’t see it bright and clear doesn’t mean that mental illness isn’t there.. It’s taken me legitimately my whole life to realize that you can learn to bare being in your own skin without substances. But it’s taken me a longggggggg time and a lot of self work to get here. I almost lost myself before I could, luckily I didn’t. That’s why I wanna help others like me so bad so we can stop these deaths, stop devastating families, stop watching our loved ones die. I’m so sorry he lost his daughter! My best friend passed away from this and also left behind a daughter.. I cry every time I think of her. Sending them love🖤

I loss my son Ken 3/21/17 to Fentanyl toxicity he thought it was heroin. Ken blamed himself for the death of his friend Matt who died from a 4wheeler accident on 1/23/03 they had been friends since the first day of kindergarten at age 5 and both were 16 at the time of the accident and up until the day Ken died he was still saying he wished he could trade places with Matt. I share Ken's story in hopes of saving another momma from living this nightmare Ken did not want to die 3 days before his death he said he wanted to be a better father to his daughter and she already thought he was the best daddy in the world. Ken will always be the best part of me and it's my honor to be his momma❤I can't wait to be reunited with my son

ALSO KEEP NARCAN ON HAND! NARCAN IS VERY IMPORTANTE. You can save someone’s life by having Narcan available. Not just for fentanyl but for prescription opioid overdose. ALSO there are kits that you can use to test your drugs. You don’t have to blind to what’s in your drugs.
