I always wanted the Mini-14 in stainless with the folding stock as well, and when I realized they just started producing them again, I wasted no time in acquiring one! I love it, can't remember the last time I got so happy about a gun! :)
The mini( ranch rifle) in my rotation has been with me for over twenty years. Lots of others have come and gone but, that sweet puppy eyed Ruger has stayed true and is a beloved member of our family. It was the first semi auto rifle me wife ever put in her hands. With that she said “ oh I like that, that’s mine now you know…” and we weren’t even married yet….?!?!
I want a Mini-14 more than just about any other gun out there. They are cool as hell. Especially with the folding stock. Great video thanks for sharing!
Working on a Mini 14 project myself, very happy with what I have accomplished thus far with enhancing the ergonomics and getting attachments on it. Looking forward to when I have some more coin and can do the rest of the internal work and get the new barrel and trigger setup.
2:39 Actually, the Mini has always been scope-friendly. My 195 series sports a red dot now, and I have used regular scopes on it. (Amazon has a short pic rail for the Mini in either black or silver.) I have been using a Butler Creek folder for 25 years. It’s a little bulky, but it’s as solid as a rock. I love this safety! There is never a doubt about it being in or off and the location is ideal.
I'm happy that you were able to own a rifle that you've always wanted. I know the feeling. Hope you get more mags and another Ruger mini 14 in 300 blackout to your collection. Add a suppressor to the 300 blk Mini 14 and you will enjoy it just as much. Congrats.
For new rugers would it be better to buy the classic 14 wirh with a wood stock and purchase the folder separately or go straight for the the folder and buy an additional stock?
An Amega scout rail is available for the older Mini-14's. They allow you to mount a long eye relief scope or a red dot ahead of the action, BUT more importantly, they help stabilize the thin barrel on the pre-580 Mini's. I have one on my Mini, and I have an Accu-Strut. The combination allows me to shoot 1.5 inch groups at 100 mitres. And I do love my Mini-14.
The new versions can stabilize light and medium weight bullets, but the action is optimized for bullet weights around 55 grains (3.564 grams) to 62 grains (4.018 grams). The old versions can only stabilize bullets around 55 grains (3.564 grams) in weight, due to the old barrel rifling twist rate.
I Really liked your review, I'd absolutely love one of the minni 14n's one day ,,just a couple of questions,,the steel that that company that currently makes the stock ,well could that metal be chromed at all? and you mention it was made in 6.8 ,,is that the same 6.8 that the army will be using from Sig ?
It's hard for chrome to adhere to stainless steel but at least stainless steel can be polished to a chrome finish, and it was the 6.8 "SPEC" that Ruger used in the Mini 14 for a short time. Sig is using the .277 "FURY" a new round that is basically a hot rod 6.8 caliber round.
277 fury? has that been around for some time has it ,,and is 6.8 the same as 277 fury and can it be used in that 6.8 ruger m14? the question about the steel was if the current furniture made for the m14 is wood and black steel (possibly paint) could that black steel be chromed so I would be able to get a m14 looking allot like the one you have,,because as you said the wood and crime stock you have isn t made and is quite exspencive if you can find one for sale ,,I was thinking I could buy the modern furniture and take the steel parts of the wood and have the steel electroplated crome,,it would look great ,,would not look as nice as the original because the wood is alot different but it would look great ,,I really love the wood crome stock origanal like yours but way out of anything I'll be able to afford for some time but I could go the way of buying the simaler furniture and have the steel chromed and I'd get a simaler look which I'm positive would look pretty cool even if not original like yours .I appreciate you replying so thankyou.
Great review. I love the Mini 14 also. It's even better in California with our unconstitutional laws. It's a great option considering how the public hates AR-15s.
Sweet rifle. I’ve always wanted the stainless tactical (16.12” barrel). I had a Mini 14 tactical with the Samson A-TM folding stock and Amega scout rail. Very cool looking and the folding stock was extremely well made. I messaged them to make a rubber overmolded stock that was more lightweight to replace the Mini-14 tactical with the hideous AR looking stock that Ruger offers. Here are a few issues I have with the Mini-14: They used to be known as a very affordable rifle, but now they are $1000-$14000. For that price, Ruger should offer a product equally as refined as a Springfield M1A, just in 5.56 or 7.62x 39. It should have a much more robust rear sight, a tritium front sight, some parts should be machined, not cast. I had three firing pins break on me. I do a lot of dryfiring but always use a snapcap, and the firing pin would shear off at the rear lug, not the tip on all three firing pins. Solution was to keep it as a two piece firing pin, and it always went bang. The magazine latch spring broke. Again, I shot mine a lot, and did a fair amount of dryfiring with it, but I took very good care of it. It was more than accurate enough, never had any accuracy issues. It’s just a piece of junk. Ruger is a publicly traded company so they care about their bottom line more than product improvement. It is a $450-$550 rifle MAX. For $1,000-$1,400?? They should be ashamed of their inattention to detail. A Springfield M1A is $1400-$2000, but it’s also chambered in .308, and is a much more refined, and well made rifle.
I'm really thinking of making poor decisions, involving one of my Mini 14s, a good gun smith shorting, pinning, and welding a ruger flash hider, and a folding stock, and now a Hannibal rail system...
The only problem with a mini 14 is that it’s not an AR-15. Besides that I’d probably own one if it took AR-15 magazines and didn’t cost way too much money.
Being stuck in Nazi Kalifornien, I really want to buy & experiment with a stainless model & make it still featureless with the Samson folding stock by making the stock unfoldable & adding a fin grip

I got that same smile today!

Yes Sir. Classic.
Omg!! That's horrible! Did they ever get out.!!!
I love it when a plan comes together!

I hate to break it to ya... shes using you for the Ruger 😔

Glad you enjoyed it.
Fun energy, great key notes and to the point ++++ shooting action. Heck yeah

Very nice I've got a special model that was made for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol back in the 70s.
Such a fun little rifle.
Yes it is. Hard to beat.
The 6.8 SPC is discontinued but they do make a Mini 14 in 300 Blackout
Minis don’t use gun oil. Use grease on it per manual. In cold areas make sure it’s synthetic
If it's good enough for the A-team it's good enough for me😂😂😂

My favorite rifle ever
Love the mini14,i have a stainless one like that myself.
Great and handy rifles
Very nice. Thanks for the comment.
Great summary I'm getting one. Thx
Dude I'd if Samson made a side folder like this for an M1 Carbine I'd buy it in a HEARTBEAT
Butler Creek makes a great side folder stock with a rubber butt plate. Also in stainless. Looks bad ass.

Thanks for the comment Spencer!
All the sidestalks are made by SAMSON Mfg for RUGER.

I like your videos. But your prices are insane! Like, across the board!
I got 1 in my collection with a wooden stock love it 😀
Right on!
What do you need?
Did you get my text?
Beautiful rifle my friend Great vid

I prefer mini 14 over all of them. I own ar platform mini 14 is a kick ass rifle
With the side folding stock the mini 14 is sexy af! 😂
Yes it is!

I remember this gun from thé early A-team series. Sadly i Live in Germany and i just Shoot 22lr
could you tell me what the weight of the folding stock setup is? Am thinking after a bit of wiggle room its the ultimate Survival Rifle
Will the open top 11/22 receiver fit inside the Samson B-TM stock?
Your video is as streamlined as it is informative. Great info
Great review. I love the Mini 14 also. It's even better in California with our unconstitutional laws. It's a great option considering how the public hates AR-15s.
I have the Samson stock. It is pretty cool 😎
We'll be reviewing the Samson stock and Hannibal rail soon. Stay tuned!
@@GUNS-GDC I saw that there is a small rail that attaches to the gas block. Not sure who makes it. But I will possibly be getting one soon.

I’ve wanted a mini almost exactly as you described. But from the sounds of it, maybe I’m better off with something else
Have 6 OLDER ones one being a ban era GB gov stamped....
I'm really thinking of making poor decisions, involving one of my Mini 14s, a good gun smith shorting, pinning, and welding a ruger flash hider, and a folding stock, and now a Hannibal rail system...
How much for an M14
Is it true that Ruger will not support F/A Minis/GBs?

A-Team special.
Yes Sir.
Get the A team edition
Uma belezinha dessas no calibre 7.62x51/.308 Win.
Wow nice
The 180 series is actually less accurate than the newer version.
Thats it! Thats fucking it! Im leaving canada and moving to the USA 🇺🇸!
Gun culture here i come!
Why would the safety not be ideal?...its so convenient right where your finger is...
THE A TEAM
Love it when a plan comes together!
Here's a benefit of being short, you don't look like a goofball shooting guns with folding stocks or low LOP.
Being stuck in Nazi Kalifornien, I really want to buy & experiment with a stainless model & make it still featureless with the Samson folding stock by making the stock unfoldable & adding a fin grip
Vice City assault rifle
😎 video love mini-14
💯💯💯💯💯💯
👍
Unfortunately the mini-14 stainless tactical is out of stock...
I'd rather have a Mini-14 than an AK
These are banned in canada but i can get any sks i want. Wtf lol
🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍
A team and grow up shooting one.
Right on.
You lost me at the soyface or: faux expression of excitement.
