The dub version of the camp scene has Bakugo say "What do you mean its weird!? How can you people be so damn bad at everything!?" And I love that line for giving us a look into the basics of Bakugo's psyche. It tells us that he thinks everything he does is actually just bare minimum normalcy.
Tbf if they can't use the basic kitchen tools then he's not wrong in saying that bcs it is the bare minimum (altho it's assuming they rlly can't properly do the basic stuff, I don't rmbr anything abt the arc except the important plot points lol)

For gods sake people you've worked there for two months now, and you are wearing a cut resistant glove, stop acting afraid of the damn knife and use the blade properly instead of just the end of it, stop dragging all the interior of the bread out on your tiny super dull portion of your abused knife...
Looking at these scenes makes want to pat Chef Bakugo on the shoulder and apologize on behalf of all the people around him, specifically in regard to cooking. I would promptly get beaten for this I'm sure, but it's the principle of the matter.

@@pat1r1ck eh, i'm 4 years older than my wife, after a certain amount of living, that difference doesn't actually matter anymore. 7 isn't that much more either. I don't really see Bakugo being romantically involved with anyone really, I just think that he appreciates things done well, and she made a REALLY good dish, and it pissed him off that they were ruining his enjoyment of the dish by bringing up family drama when there were guests in the house. But if Bakugo is like "hey, teach me that recipe!" then he's clearly a fan, and I think she understood that. I mean he's hardly the most abrasive man she's had to deal with in her life, given who her father is.

He has manners. It's his overly enthusiastic tone that hides them. See how he participates in all the work, even helps clear the tables after dinner and wants to know the recipe. Except he is "overly passionate" as someone wrote.
He has good manners, excellent even it’s just that his temper tends to distract from it. Seriously go reread/watch, from eating to addressing his seniors to self discipline Bakugo is actually the most text book well mannered student. But I guess he’s that way by design, his kidnapping was triggered by him wanting an honorable and fair no holds bar fight. Obviously not an issue with Kirishima, the optics were bad with Ochaco (but he was doing the right thing), and with Todoroki, he was the one wronged in the fight regardless of how it appeared to the crowd. When he was declared the winner knowing his opponent held back, he was pissed, he didn’t want the prize and lashed out to the point of needing to be restraint.

I like seeing this side of bakugo. Everything he does, he puts his everything into. He's a very passionate person, only showing respect to those who he sees take what they do seriously. Deku, todoroki, kirishima. All people who have proven their passion in what they want to do. I love this little extra touch of character for Bakugou. It shows that he (for whatever reason) had to step up and do some cooking at home. Given that we've seen his mom both has a similar personality and cares deeply for him i take it that she went out of her way to force him to learn how to cook. Probably even said some of the same things like about bringing shame for cutting chives poorly.
i love his character expansion so much. i don’t think he’s delivered one line of dialogue that isn’t filled with rage or just a calm before the storm
The one line I can think of is when, during the sports festival tournament, when some of his classmates are berating him for his match against Uraraka (saying things along the lines of “how could you go all out against such a fragile defenseless girl?”) and he basically responds with “what about her was fragile?”
No yelling, no rage (I don’t think he’s physically capable of quiet rage), just respect for his classmate who put her all into their bout

My personal headcanon is that his mom made him learn how to cook at a young age. And whenever he didn't cut a vegetable right or add enough salt she would yell at him (in a comedic way) which made Bakugou angry and went out of his way to prove her wrong the next time and wanted to show her that he's better than her!
So he practiced like crazy until he got it right. Now they're always arguing what the cut portion sizes, what seasonings and spices they add how long they cook their food, etc.

It's not just food, he respects people who put their all into what they want to do, we saw this with Ochako. Everyone underestimated the sweet cinnamon-roll.
