Happy to hear it ! I repair guitars as a hobby from time to time. I've set myself three conditions when I decided to repair this guitar: 1). Do as much work done as I can in my room. 2). Do it using only basic, commonly available tools as much as possible. 3). Not to spend more on things needed for repair than I spent on the guitar itself - Which was a ridiculously small amount, like 25% market price of the new guitar. And welp, I've meet somewhere around 80% of these conditions :D
I love that guitar man, I wish I had the skillset and tools to mod a guitar like that, but im much too scared of ruining it and thus wasting a perfectly fine guitar
You can always buy a broken guitar from a pawn shop to tinker with it, this way you will not lose much money. If I could do this using most basic tools in my room, I am sure with some practice so can You ! Pro tip - Buy only tools you need for the current job :) Cheers !
Thank You a lot ! I will always support anyone who wants to create stuff. My advice is, start with some small projects. Buy some cheapest possible guitar, one that you won't be afraid to break and tinker with it. I can fullheartly recommend a @stewmac YT channel, I've learned a lot from there. I live in an apartment, and when I start to repair guitars, my room allways look like a workstation 😅
Сначала хотел заклеить переднюю часть осколками разбитого зеркала, но это оказалось слишком сложно. Извините, если это звучит странно, я использовал Google Translate :D
The extra frets on the slotted tenon cover was a sick ass idea. I got a cherry ep. SG 61 spec, semour duncan in the bridge gives the heaviest crisp tone, not sure if you swapped yours but if you plan to in the future, can't go wrong with any they offer. I only swapped it because my sweat ate away at the pickup shield and turned it orange :'[
I had some spare fret wire left and then this weird idea came to me - "I never had 24 fret guitar :) ". To tell you the truth, it works...Kind of. Because of the "Gibson" scale, the distance between the bridge and (now) 24th fret make it hard for the string to vibrate properly, so sustain is terrible. But the initial note is clear, without any buzz. About the stock electronics... Boy oh boy do this sux big time. I won't lie, this project was for me to try and repair the guitar with the minimum costs, using widely available tools. Playability of the guitar itself is actually pretty good, but the stock Epiphone pickups are plain bad. You've did the right thing switching to seymour. Maybe in the future, if i get my hands on some proper pups, i will upgrage, but for now, I'm mostly lending this guitar to the beginers to play around with. Cheers !
I've made it using AI algorytm that split the song into 4 separate tracks. Vocal/Drums/Bass and Guitar. Guitar is always in stereo, so then I split it too into PL/PR to hear the guitars only and learn how to play since I always learn songs by ear. Then I throw all the files into a DAW and mix without guitars. There is some mixing involved since the tracks are not perfect. Some frequencies are cut, some are left from other tracks. Hope this helps, cheers !
You almost guessed it :D I've used the built-in virtual BD-2 from BOSS Katana MKII, using the amp's crunch channel. If I remember correctly I've slightly boosted 2 and 4 kHz in the global EQ GE-10 too.
I haven't found such a bridge on the Polish market so I've made it from scratch using aluminium, same as the truss rod cover and the electronic chamber cover at the back 😁 That's why I was using a file in the vid - To make the top arch, and then polish it till it was looking good. I based it on a Gretsch V Chevron bridge, but I've got info that some Chinese company "Guyker" offer a similar bridge on the Internet, if that helps.
fuck, that sg is the exact guitar that silverhand should have been playing in the game. holy fuck this is perfect
"It should be me, not him !" 🤣
But damn, i like my left arm as it is. 🦾
Cheers !
No way this is the epiphone from BEFORE, the repaired version looks beautiful
Lovely guitar
It surely looks better than it sounds 😅 It really is in dire need of upgrading pickups.
@@RentonGrey you should get some seymour duncan nazgul pickups, they would be perfect for that guitar im sure of it
I love the Guitar! you did such a fantastic job

Preem work, choom!
Thank you !
Came here for the cover, stayed for the guitar build. Preem work man! 🤘
Thanks choom ! I really didn't expect so many people would like this guitar.
Now I wonder what to do next 🤔
@@RentonGrey Maybe I'm biased but I think you can't go wrong with another Samurai song 😉

Thanks for kind words !

OuKej !
Nice cover bro! And damn, such a great axe you have!
Thanks :)
At first i wanted to fill the top with broken mirror shards, and then paint the Samurai logo but it was too difficult for me to do.
Nice cover! Love the guitar, keep it up!
THX ! I cant't promise vids will be regular, but I'll do my best 😅
Amazing!!!
Thx ! It means a lot to me that you liked the vid :)
かっこいいな!
修復過程が見られるのも面白い👍
それもすべてあなたの励ましのおかげです 😁
時々、自分はギターを弾くよりも修理する方が得意だと思うことがあります🎸
гитара очень красивая !

You nailed it!!! Can you make a tone guide video of that tone? You made a great job
Sorry for the late reply.
Sadly, other than the guitar itself, I have complately different rig now, went full digital 😮💨
Piękna gitara
Dzięki ! Sądzę że z wiekiem i każdą nową rysą będzie wyglądać jeszcze lepiej 😁

How did you get that tone? Was it the built in effects of tour amp? Or maybe the BD-2 or DS-1, Were they stacked?
