I was once a household mover and had a similar experiance, but backwards. Pulled up to the owners home, got my doors lined up with their driveway, then i tested the hold of the brakes, due to the 1/2" ice and sure enough...they weren't holding. If I hit the brakes, I slid sideways so I let it slowly ride down the hill, braking and straightening, hoping not to have momentum at the bottom...which was a house. I stopped near the bottom and put on chains. Oh to be young and dumb again. I'm smarter now and wouldn't drive on ice except to save a life.
