Just Demo'd the PS100 16X19 . Really impressed with it. I ws NEVER a babolat fan, but the PS 100 had very good top spin, maneuverable, good control and stable.

Nice review, as usual! I was also pleasantly surprised by this update. I liked the 100 16x19 and the 16x20 a lot. Adding a bit of weight to the tip of the 16x20 beefed up the swing weight and made it really good. To me, these 2 are very similar to the speed MP and pro, but a bit more maneuverable due to the lower swing weight than the speeds. To my surprise I liked these better than the new Head Speed (as did one of my friends who has been a long time Head Speed user and now wants to switch to the Pure Strike 100 16x20)

Thanks Robert! Yea the racket in this playtest comes underspec so adding weight will be a good idea. I do agree that 100 16x20 plays similar to Speed Pro, but 100 16x19 I think it plays like Percept 100. I also like Pure Strike 2024 more than Speed line.

so yea, the 100 - 16/20 needs some lead at 3 and 6 and it becomes the best racket in the lign-up.

Hi Tan. Nice reviews! A couple of suggestions:
    1) If possible, consider providing unstrung swing weight, along side strung swing weight, as that gives more of an indication as to exactly how on or off spec the frame is in true stock form, without the influence of variable string weights.
    2) You might also consider spec'ing up identical molds to equal strung spec (ex: the 100 16x19 and 100 16x20), which will help to give a better indication of the true playability differences, once static weight, balance and swing weight are equalized.
I mention the two items above because I'm currently playtesting the 100 16x20, and my particular sample is heavily over-spec, with a 304sw unstrung (!!!) and 337sw strung with full bed RPM Blast Rough 1.25. That's 27 (!!!) swing weight points more than your sample (strung with Hyper-G 1.20 or 1.25 I presume?), which I can almost guarantee would feel like a completely different experience, and makes me wonder how you might review both frames against one another with the 100 16x20 spec'd up to the same strung SW as the 100 16x19.
Nevertheless, at a high level your take-aways are still valuable and I appreciate the time you put into all your reviews! I hope Babolat ends up releasing the 98 18x20 in your market, just so you get a chance to add that to your reviews! Keep up the good work!

Hi, yes I will provide unstrung SW of 3-5 new rackets in separate video. In this one I'm pretty busy so didn't have time to do. Your 304 unstrung SW is OMG you won a QC lottery hahahaha. Note that all rackets in this video strung with 1.25 Hyper G.

Hey thank you for the great review!
    I play with blade 98 v8.
Can you compare it with the pure strike 97 (power, launch angle, control, stability...)?
Last time I asked you the difference between blade 98 and vcore 98, totally agree, vcore 98 is more comfortable and it feels like to compare 98 and 100.
I assume pure strike 97 must be much close to the blade

Nice! I liked the 16x19 100 a lot too, I just worry long term about the stiffness of it compared to the 16x20, which is much more comfortable imo. My 16x20 is at about 325sw, so I don't really experience the stability issues you described on returns etc. The more direct feel plus better comfort make this update awesome compared to the Gen 3 versions.

I usually agree with most of your reviews, but this one is the outlier.
I used the purestrike 98 gen 3 for years as my main rackets especially in tournaments and always found it stiff with amazing feel. I switched off it because of stiffness but trying the 2024 strike was horrible because it ruined the feel of the original gen 3.
I felt the drop from 70-ish Ra to 61-64 Ra was way too significant and the feel of this racket is so incredibly muted and i cannot feel the ball at all. I felt the power was also reduced and I couldnt rip the ball anymore which was very disappointing. I really wanted to like this racket so much cuz i love the strike series but i just couldnt and i hated how bad i was playing with it

    • @tantennis
      @tantennis  10 месяцев назад +2

Hi Mike! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Yea I figured. If you like gen 3 then you most likely don’t like gen 4 because it changes a lot. I’m in a different group who don’t like gen 3 and I play with Blade 98. So, if the gen 4 doesn’t feel anything like the gen 3 and it becomes more similar to the Blade then I would definitely like it. If that makes sense.

    Love your videos,
I am shopping for a new racket. Would you buy a Wilson Blade V8 16x19 Roland Garros for 179 USD or Pure Aero 98 for regular price 279 USD.
I am currently using Prince Warrior 100 ESP from 2014 and play with lots of spin and power .
I have had elbow pain in the past when using Wilson Burn 100s.
    Would love your thoughts
