okay i know this is an old animatic and I actually rewatch this every once in a while! But like, rewatching this now??? After everything that's happened since it came out?? God now I'm LEGIT tearing up about how Garnet probably felt so guilty that she was one of the lucky ones that survived the Diamond's Corruption Light. Then for thousands of years she's had to deal with the pain of her dead friends and loved ones as corrupted monsters. Then when their numbers couldn't be any lower, she loses Rose too, the mentor she looked up to for so long. That's been there since she fused for the first time. And then Garnet just been waiting it out all this time. And it pays off. Steven heals the corrupted gems, the war is finally /over/, and Garnet has everything she's been waiting for. She finally got her answers to the questions she's never asked. She got married. She got to greet new fusions into the world with the love and acceptance she wished she had for her own arrival. She fought the Diamonds for a shining moment. She got to stand up to BD, her old abuser. GOD, I'm legit tearing up about how much happiness and fulfillment Garnet got after waiting for so goddamn LONG!! RIP to Aaron Burr, but clearly Garnet did the waiting better than he ever did
