Mr Compress: unmasks
Everyone: "Ohno he's hot"
I agree with you here he loook cold he get the loook to have nice day
his face reveal to being a middle aged HANDSOME man makes the fact that he kept calling himself "old man" the entire series 10X funnier😂😂
Fun fact: Mr. Compress is barely over 30.
@@L.Fenton but compared to everyone else there...
Actually, I'm kind of glad they didn't push the 'dark mirrors' parrel too far and try to make him a teacher or authority figure (yes, there's still Shigaraki and AFO, but much less than that to the whole league). He's always been one of the group, and a little more mature and reasonable than the average member, but he's been 'big brother' or 'young uncle' at most. Compared to all the teachers Class 1A has, but that they lack a dedicated figure like that (the big three come close but don't interact with the class as a whole enough), it's kind of interesting.
@@L.Fenton Well, he was surrounded by a teenage girl and guys in their early 20s (aside from Twice but he never took off his mask so...) I would also feel old
@@snvhill as someone who hasnt read the manga (so no major spoilers please) whats the 'dark mirrors'? Was there more to Compress then the anime showed? or did they change his character/role in the anime?
@@Digivolution3 No real spoilers necessary. It's just that MHA has always dealt with the parallel journeys of the heroes and villains through the story, Shigaraki vs. Midoria, Class 1A vs. The League of Villains, OFA vs AFO etc. It does a good job of being compelling and asking interesting questions about where they're going, why, and what it means to be a hero OR a villain. Just think of Twice's death and Toga's questioning. But it's easy to take that too far, keep trying to force it as close to a 1:1 ratio as possible instead of accepting the differences. One thing MHA does well is NOT falling into that trap, and Mr. Compress being an interesting character not having an easily comparable equivalent on the hero side (you could try it for a few people, but it would be a bit of a stretch) is a good example of that.
"Shigaraki was just saved by the devil because no one else saved him" was so beautifully put.
BARS.
I agree with you l fell şad for shigarki here but l love AFO he amzing villain❤ thr ost here to iş partty
The “keeping up with the Todooki’s” edit was comedy gold😂
I love edits of toya and his family sotry❤
Mr. Compress' ancestor, Oji Harima, was one of the villains Gentle Criminal mentioned in one of his videos; alongside Destro and All For One.
I agree with you here l love mr compress he amzing villain have nice day❤
19:05 this line has always been interesting to me, because just before the All Might vs All For One fight, AFO says to shigaraki "Remember, this is all for your sake." and now he's saying "Remember, this is all for my sake."
Ojiharama was shown on Gentle Criminal's video when he discussed the famous faces of the Hero and Villain factions in history, and how he could stand equal to them in terms of fame.

Despite everyone's best efforts, sacrifice and dedication, the fight and damage is absolutely devastating. The last shots of everyone on the ground exhausted and in pain shows that sometimes, our best just isn't good enough.
To add insult to LITERAL injury, they played Might+U over it, too. 😪

"Did he just die?" Lmfao
Remember this episode when Mr. Compress said, "It's compressin' time," and proceeded to compress all over the place?
Edit: After Compress' speech at the end about being a side character, it's a bummer that he and Monoma never interacted. They seem like kindred souls, despite being on opposite sides. Heck, remember that Monoma's Hero name is Phantom Thief; I'm sure that Compress would get a kick outta that.
I was thinking similar thoughts about Toga and La Brava yesterday! Compress and Monoma would be hilarious together 🤣

8:21 When Compress uses his Quirk halfway on a target. It can cut throw it. Like how a ice cream scoop digs into a tub.

"Shigaraki was just literally saved by the devil because nobody else saved him" -Kenny -- I thought this was a really good way to put his situation and it actually made me somehow even sadder lol nice way to put it though

That's gonna be a freaking trip to watch since Kenny hasn't seen it
Interesting use of Might+U at the end of this episode, showing somber emotions rather than triumph like before.

Season 7x16 Gentle Criminal comeback
Return of the King
And his Queen
(At 23:20) And it had this war look like it ended out a draw, but it looks like the villains won THIS one. So much collateral damage and high body counts. Heroes, civilians, and villains alike. And consider the broadcast Dabi did there a lot doubts unrelying on heroes. And considering the carnage from the aftermath from the war, a lot of heroes will start giving up feeling like they failed to save alot of people, much less everyone in general.
Compress represents those who fight on the side of evil for righteous causes. Think revolutionaries who commit crimes for the good of the common. Ninja in japan were actually more like robin hood figures and so he represents a more "noble" evil.
In this episode, we're introduced to the Creature Rejection Clan. While they don't seem super relevant now, keep in mind that people ostracizing others for their quirks making them look different (mutation quirks), is very much a lasting thing that we've seen. Oddly enough, Shoto Todoroki and Dabi, or Toya, have had notable examples of doing that. Hero society is broken, and now, it's falling apart.
Oh also, gotta say, while the League of Villains is also falling apart, just like the heroes who are left, they'll stick together.
Funny it's the brothers who hadn't had actual contact in 10 years are both doing it
Mr Compress🗿
One thing that you have to consider about why AFO is taking over Shigaraki is the explanation he gave us when he attempted to steal One for All. Much like with organ transplants, when a quirk is passed or stolen, elements of the original user pass on to the new user. And since AFO gave Shigaraki his quirk along with all the quirks he had stolen, he has a very powerful presence within Shigaraki's body in addition to the willpower and knowledge of the Demon Lord rulling for decades.
“Fatgum is not unscathed”😂
This damn ost making me wanna cry
The meaning behind the name Deku
Dekunobou:Good for nothing(which is why Bakugo called him that)
Dekiru:Can do anything(which is why he choosed it as a hero name)
Keeping up with the todorokis keeps going strong 😂😂
Gotta say, I’ve been looking forward to this one JUST because of the “Keeping up with the Todorokis” intro. 😅
Imagining everything with the family being staged as a reality show or something, sounds like a really hellish time, which I guess is the point. 😅
Anyway, yeah, the heroes lost big time. But most of the villains didn’t fair much better honestly.
They actually released that on Patreon a while back, but I didn't expect it to be used HERE. 😅
The heroes definitely underperformed here compared to the villains. It doesn't matter how many villains they captured, the devastation that Gigantomachia caused alone and all the innocent people that died because of it makes this fight a loss. Add to that Shigaraki erasing half a city in an instant and Dabi's expose of Endeavor...it's the same outcome as Kamino. The heroes losing All Might is way more important than the villains losing All for One as far as society goes, despite both being the top of their respective sides.
@@HaydrogenBomb Yeah, I just saw that it would be on episode 13 so I was excited 😆
@@natsuotodoroki So you're on Patreon?
@@HaydrogenBomb Kinda yeah.
Fantastic reaction as usual! Mr. Compress certainly put on a fantastic show, but as they say, all good things must come to an end. Compress is my absolute favourite character in MHA, just because how selfless he was as a villain, and how he was willing to physically tear himself apart so his friends could get away from the heroes and live to fight another day. You may not have been here for long, Compress, but to me, you were the star of the show.
"One last bow, and then the curtain falls..."
*While the heroes technically lost, I think the only true winner of this war was the man who orchestrated it all.*
Glad to see Kenny's having fun editing.😂
Might + U is a song I'll never get tired of hearing ❤️🥲🎵
This episode is the episode where it truly felt like hope died.
I find it strange that Mr.Compress injured himself so badly, since he is fully capable of compressing his entire body at once. We saw him do that way back in season 3. 😕
I also found that really weird.🤨Maybe when he does it on himself, there’s a time limit or something and he can’t freely control when he returns to normal? Or I’m overthinking and they just wanted more drama by killing Compress off. 🤷♀️
@@MaryBaker-ev6cu Compress isn't dead. He was captured while still unconscious after his final performance. Also, I think it's because he likely needed to act quickly and free Spinner and Shigaraki before Spinner blacked out, as he needed to quickly buy time before Best Jeanist managed to choke Spinner into unconsciousness, so ripping chunks off himself would be the quickest way to get them out of there. Had he turned himself into a marble, it would have taken time the villains didn't have, and he may have fallen away from Spinner and Shigaraki, with no way then to rescue them, as he needs to touch an object/person to use his quirk on it.
And this is where life gets harder for the heroes im afraid
Poor mr.compress😭😭😱😭
Rip compress
He's still alive tho, just crippled

Might* U! First played when Deku caught Eri in his arms and again when him and Bakugo got One For All to beat Nine!
The full power of All for One seems unimaginable. But then you think of All Might's prime...to be able to just fight to a draw is wild. I dont know how Japan would have survived those attacks.
Also would say that they were training the kids for this very scenario for the past year, ever since All Might fought One For All and defeated him. The provisional training, the additional hero work mentorships, ultimate moves training, etc. Since they were dealing with 100,000 enemies i feel like they needed the backup of the top teenage heroes, especially those already use to fighting these villains
That’s exactly what they did. The hero commission agency told UA that work studies were now mandatory. And Hawks confirmed the reason when he said “if we fail, the safety of our society falls to our students.”
so its obvious hes watched most of the series ahead of her and i knew that at the beginning but is he up to date on season 7 as well?
Nope, he does plan to watch season 7 together with his wife, so we can get his raw reaction in season 7
The end of the war has arrived with nothing but chaotic insanity on the way out.
With Machia down the villains are cornered. If it weren’t for the sedatives Machia really would have just thrashed everyone present. Endeavor can move his head with an uppercut sure, but we’ve also seen Dabi flames had no effect on Machia. So even if everyone but Aizawa was fresh it likely would not have been enough considering the training he put the league through in season 5.
Speaking of Season 5, we FINALLY got more MVA. This is one of the cut scenes that likely never would have shown itself considering one of the subjects was the Creature Rejection Clan. Or because heteromorphs represent in this world essentially black people and other minorities, they are the Ku Klux Klan and other equivalent hate groups. The studio likely wanted to gloss over this entirely because touchy subject…even if people just need to acknowledge yeah the groups existed and there are other groups TODAY for that purpose. And turning a blind eye is just not how that subject should be treated. And while Horikoshi has no say in the anime, he does make the subject a lot more story prominent, and I assume that’s why this scene made its way back to season 6 when they realized Horikoshi had put enough of the subject into the story they couldn’t cut it all out. Which would damage PROFIT if they did try to cut it all, and therefore, here we are. (If anyone knows a bit more on the subject feel free to correct me or fill in gaps. I admit I don’t know as much as I should, but this is what my understanding is.)
After completely annihilating the not KKK, Spinner talks about how listless and aimless the league has become since they were active with AFO around and Compress is thinking of the offers they had walked away from with the Shie Hassaikai. They knew Shigaraki was AFO’s successor but that wasn’t really proving to be mean much at the time, they had no funding, no manpower, and nothing to strive for. And Shigaraki didn’t even have an answer for what they were going to do UNTIL Machia showed up who found them IN THAT abandoned building. And the training to be AFO’s successor truly hit its stride and he gave the goal to Garaki to convince him he wasn’t the same man child from season 1. This scene REALLY should have been in season 5. But then there’s also THAT FREAKING SELKIE EPISODE that would’ve made it REALLY hard to fit even if they weren’t trying to avoid certain subjects.
And even despite all the problems in the league and everything they were unable to accomplish without resources, the league stood together. They are their own family just like the family the kids built. And if they want to fulfill their dreams…they have to stand up for each other. So Compress makes his move to FINALLY get the stage center he had always wanted and was aiming to find with the league causing so much trouble at the Camp Attack and Kamino. And breaks free of Best Jeanist. He knows that everyone here has dreams they want to fulfill to have the world they want, and in this case? He’s the one that can fulfill what he wants the easiest even at the cost for his defeat.
Mr Compress wants to monologue, draw attention of EVERY hero as a threat, he wants to talk of his lineage to make his stand, and even though he’s outnumbered, outgunned, and in many ways outskilled he wants to be remembered for what he does. With the reveal of his face and lineage we reveal the final of the 3 historical villains Gentle Criminal spoke of that left the biggest impacts in Japan. AFO, Destro, and the thief Oji Harima. Who is essentially Robin Hood. And he’s getting everything he wants as the heroes start dropping EVERYTHING to stop him from reawakening the league so they can fulfill THEIR dreams too.
Deku wakes up and gets another alert. He found the password when AFO took over Shigaraki when Deku was just saved by Bakugo. For Blackwhip the single minded password was CATCH HIM. For Float it was GET OFF THE GROUND. For Danger Sense it was I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS THE BIGGEST THREAT AROUND ME. Or something of that nature. This one just feels like it was going to pop out whenever he was hyper alert. And this is the 2nd quirk I wanted to officially accuse All-Might of awakening. I talked about how impossible it was for All-Might to find the 4th holder when all he had was a 2nd hand description of Daigoro Banjo from Deku who All-Might had no idea who he was, and there being no official records of OFA holders and yet he identified the 4th who is likely over a century back. (And knowing what I do about the 4th, identifying HIM in particular is probably the hardest to find.) Where does this fit in All-Might’s career? I was informed in vigilantes that All-Might called his instincts to act on various signals around the city his “Might-Sense” and he would even act BEFORE the signals sometimes because of his efficiency. (Thanks Tobofu, you rock!) And there’s also his strange feat of dismantling organized crime on a national scale. And knowing organized crime, they wouldn’t throw it in the towel just because of All-Might’s presence, but if he was a PROVABLE threat to find their operations and halt them. No adapting to other methods, just give up. So that means he must’ve busted them up himself. The strange thing is you can be as strong as you want and as fast as you want but if you don’t know WHERE crime is happening, you can’t stop it. So that means that it is dependent not on All-Might, but his not OFA holding staff that have to get him the right intel, and that is only what is reported to him. Theres Sir Nighteye too but he’s only one person and while Foresight’s limits are all but nonexistent working more like Erasure when he’s not using self imposed rules, he can only be using one Foresight vision at a time. So that means in order for All-Might to be so accomplished in stopping organized crimes on HIS OWN, he needs a real time signal for his surroundings. What would you have it, the 4th quirk fills that in perfectly to what we know he accomplished. Again this is not confirmed and it won’t be. So it’s just information I think fits. There’s still 1 more quirk I want to accuse All-Might of awakening.
What we’re talking about again? Oh yeah Deku is sensing Compress’ activity to reawaken the league into action while he can’t control the headache it causes. That’s not ideal. (I don’t really understand how this quirk can go out of control honestly. I guess like a fire alarm you are trying to turn off but it won’t shut off?) Compress is IMMEDIATELY knocked aside by Mirio, but he did more or less achieve what he wanted. He got the attention he craved, and now it’s time to leave it to the rest of the League to escape for his show to be of the worth he wanted. Now with Spinner woken up and unbinding Shigaraki, he goes to wake him up. Finding the charred hand THAT STILL SURVIVED THE ENDEAVOR BLASTS. (That is ONE STURDY HAND. Someone in the family really knows how to stick around) And when he puts it on his face, all the emotions riled up from that house on that day. All the anger. All the pain. And it awakens NOT Shigaraki…but AFO. Who has been nothing but ready to swoop in to take command of THESE EXACT FEELINGS. And like that, AFS is awake and active once more.
AFO being in command EASILY defeats Mirio, Iida, and Todoroki trying to put a fast end to his consciousness. And now that all of them are down…there’s no one left fighting the Nomu that can keep them in place. He exhausts who remains. And like any good chess player, he knows it’s time to go on the defense. Not offense. They don’t have the available pieces. And he also knows not every piece on the board is worth sticking around for. Machia is down. Compress is down. And Toga is absent. If they aren’t IMMEDIATELY available he’s done. And this thinking goes against everything Spinner recognizes in Shigaraki’s leadership to care for every man he has close to him. And he’s no longer respecting him either. Just take the Nomu, Spinner, Dabi, and Skeptic. And they are OUT. It’s all Deku can do to push in ONE LAST effort to stop AFS from going anywhere, who he KNOWS is AFO without question. And AFO recognizes not the strength, not speed, or threat, but the tenacity and will of All-Might in Deku. And promises he’ll be back for another match when the time is right. Knocking him out…and showing nothing but everyone else defeated and exhausted. There’s nothing left. And Deku submits to the pain, and we are left with the pieces of what AFO tore to shreds. The war is over. But Deku feels it. That unending will to save...and he picks up that Shigaraki, as he gets engulfed. Might have been calling for help. And all he has EVER wanted, was to save lives.

@@HaydrogenBomb Let me be clear as much as I do spend time on these analysis I haven't had time to check out Vigilantes just yet. I'm still a bit lost on why Compress had to resort to injuring himself to escape Jeanist, impressive as it was.
We've seen him compress people's entire bodies without hurting them, so why couldn't he do that to himself here?
12:30 😂😂😂
Some of us forget that we're following the lives of students and their children. The Commission and the system is a fault and when the public opinion starts to attack the heroes, it's sad, but also a wake up call. Even though the older heroes should have done things to improve he system, its not fair that new heroes and students are also taking the his.
AFO is a leech and parasite in using people and now tying to take over Shigaraki's body. I like a tie from Blackwhip and Danger Sense because its feels more useful for hero work which Blackwhip can be like Spiderman but Spiderman makes his web shooters.
I don't really get why Compress had to injure himself like that in order to escape Jeanist's bindings.
While it was certainly an impressive display of willpower, we've seen him compress people's entire bodies without hurting them. Couldn't he have done with his own body to escape? Why'd he have to injure himself like that? 🤔
How would he uncompress himself?

If you can understand what happened with Shigaraki’s backstory then later on you will understand why Deku wanna save him. His backstory is just like Dabi and Toga. If only they had the right person in life they would of turned out so different. There’s such an obvious reason on why Deku wanna save him but I’m lazy asf to explain LOLL
This ties in when you consider the author.
He is a massive Spiderman and Starwars fan.
Spiderman being so extreme with his no kill rule in the comics that he stopped Agent Venom from killing carnage (which AV has full authority to as a deployed shield agent)
Which directly leads to Carnage causing millions of deaths in the Knull saga, making Peter indirectly responsible.
And other is star wars, were a mass genocidal maniac who murdered kids in cold blood and killed countless people while leading a galatic regime gets redeemed by one single act of good (well not really because it was still a selfish decision as Luke is his son)
So there you have it, extreme no killing rule + insane leniency towards the villains = BS that looks less like kindness and more like self righteousness at the cost of a nation's life.
I am personally not a fan of the whole Inner child thing. MHA tries a little to hard to justify literal terrorists that have killed thousands without remorse.
Also given Mr Compress's motivation, his support of league makes Zero sense and pretty much goes against the ideal set by his predecessor
Toga and Dabi hanging around makes sense, they are sadists who enjoy inflicting pain upon others, Toga literally gets sexual pleasure from stabbing people to death.
Spinner makes sense to an extent to, most extremist factions form from people who have been abused.
But in what universe does starting a country wide war, forcing people to live in camps, crashing economy so that all of Japan goes below poverty line helps Compress's ideals ?
The specific idea is that some people are absolutely irredeemable, but the best way to prevent that is learning with empathy WHAT made the monsters and fighting for change. The League has been ostracized since they were small SMALL children, and learning this means we can provide support to people who need it most.
The biggest emphasis the series puts is that the league CANNOT be forgiven, but they deserve human empathy for the horrors that made them.
As the saying goes “the child the village rejects will burn it down to feel its warmth” just this is taken to extremes.
And compress joining the league makes total sense, they are the starving and the abandoned children, and he the Robin Hood who cared enough to join them.
Are they irredeemable monsters? Yes But they also were abandoned children who deserved kindness, at the time at least.
their backstories dont justify their action and at least Deku and the others are clear about that, amd hay those are parts of hem they qont accept, but they see them as people that did bad things, not as a lost cause and they don't see them as just he bad things they did
Giving reasons or insights for actions is not the same as justification.
Even Deku, the voice of narration, and the one who said he wants to save Shigaraki said he WON'T forgive him, as an absolute matter.
We have to see how they define saving and where that leads the heroes and villains.
God Bless Psalm 34:8
