Yes, rocket league is a different game ...
Its run by epic games the same company that runs fortnite
You get the rocket pass with the fortnite crew, all you need to do is download rocket league and use same account you use for fortnite ... and you earn some cars and other items that will show up in fortnite too ...

If your a member of fortnite crew you will get a car for hitting lvl 1 of the rocket league rocket pass ... I hope that answers your question
