Love love love...i met Liz in law school in 1995, well i said hi to her in Wicker Park in the Mexican mini mart by the damen stop. I was fortunate to see who is at the Civic opera house with the Smashing Pumpkins for their 20th anniversary. I'm going to see her this July in Tinley Park with my favorite band GARBAGE (Shirley Mason is my muse), as well as Alanis Morissette headlining. Yay!!!! Going with my oldest niece Lyndsie.
I had a girl friend back in 93’ that turned me on to the tape of Exile. Liz Phair, like the other chic musicains of the time, totally helped me to understand girls a lot more. Blessed be to Stacy Keller. She loaned me the tape. She was killed in a boating accident a year later. By the way, I’m a dude.✌🏻✌🏽✌🏾✌🏼✌️
I just found her due to the documentary Dirty Girls two weeks ago. The filmmaker featured the song Batmobile (perfect for that film). My favorite songs thus far are: Perfect World Uncle Alvarez Polyester Bride I am Almost finished with her autobiography “Horror Stories”. She’s an excellent writer.
I discovered her during college in 1999 and this was the song. It was the advent of sharing songs via MP3, when you didn’t have the world of music at your fingertips. People would share their small collection of handfuls of tracks. My friends and I would trade lists of songs we wanted so we could help each other search. Liz is an amazing artist. Following her through all her albums has been great - her latest one, Soberish, feels a lot like her first two albums (she’s working with the same producer as those two).
The irony is that she became a Polyester Bride, just minus the wedding. Everything wrong with an expectation based marriage happened to her: the guy she loved cheated on her (after she cheated on him) and left her, and her personal life ended in divorce just minus the legal part.
Liz's guitar playing is really good on 6'1", but you wouldn't know it with Buddy Judge's cheese layered loudly all over it. Between that and the keyboard added to every single song, I hated this tour.
I love you, Liz Phair!
This song really brings me back to my 1st year in high school when I first heard this track. :-)
Takes me back to grad school, where I would play chess against the computer and crank this album when I needed a brain cleanser.
I just found out about Liz phair in 2019 eff this is so good

6' 1 kicks ass. David Byrne. That's random
This is a good ~band~. Who are they?
Thought they were about to break into a little Eagles' "Already Gone" when they started the 2nd song?
9-23-21 1:00 am in the HAYFIELD ON A FULL MOON NIGHT with Coyotes in the back ground
Not sure why, but she and Jodie Foster kind of looked alike to me back in the 90s.
I like this BUT I think it's better with just Liz on acoustic doing it solo
Sorry if that offends you

Liz Phair, Eleanor Roosevelt, RBG, the 3 women I'd want to meet in an afterlife. (That aren't family members of course.)
Ao weird to have to sludge thru conservative political ad before this amazing performance. 🤨
