      Hololive is great too. But it depends how much you know. You have to learn vocabulary first and Anime isn't good for that. It can be done but it isn't efficient.

      @@Jordan-Ramses on the contrary because you learn by listening just like how you learned your first language and the more you hear words you pick them up but again to learn languages faster you need more than one method

      The Hiragana on Duolingo is great I learned the basics in a day.
      Hololive is a good resource too. They're a Japanese Vtuber company. A lot of funny Japanese clips are translated into English. They also have an EN branch and some of them are very fluent in Japanese. My personal favorite is when the Japanese Vtubers do Duolingo for English. It's the same lessons I did but in reverse. Gawr Gura is kind of amazing too. She doesn't speak much Japanese but she sounds so cute. She could do voice acting in Japanese.

    Hello again Mochi Sensei. Thankyou for today's wonderful lesson! I have a question about today's lesson.
    My question is about *saiaku da ne*
    As you may already know dear Sensei, the phrase "that sucks" is a slang phrase in English and some people (although I wouldn't say most people, but mainly older people) might consider it rude or even vulgar. So my question is that I would like to know if the Japanese translation you're teaching us in this video is also slang in Japanese or would it be considered impolite to say in some situations?

    • @jennsuicune
      @jennsuicune 6 месяцев назад +2

      That's a good question ! 😊 I hope Mochi Sensei will answer. In French for instance, "it sucks" is translated by "ça craint", or "c'est nul", which is not considered vulgar or impolite, even if it's very casual. That's because we don't have this idea of "sucking" in our expression, (involving s*x) in our verb. I'm looking forward to know what it's like in Japanese

    • @vesper8450
      @vesper8450 6 месяцев назад

      I can tell you google translate brought it back in English as "That's the worst". But googling it has brought back just "saiaku" as: "that's terrible/that sucks".
