- Devon Rodriguez is a Puerto Rican American artist and painter from the South Bronx. He initially gained recognition for painting a series of realistic portraits in the New York City subway system. Now, Rodriguez has his very first solo exhibit in NYC called “Underground.”

THANK GOD FOR GRANDMOTHER'S! My grandmother raised me! My Dad went to Prison, SO, grandma and grandpa stepped in and raised me. I got to go to College, GOD WAS WATCHING OVER ME, JUST AS GOD IS WATCHING OVER THIS YOUNG MAN! AMAZING ARTIST!
Not all grandmothers are angels. I have a friend who's grandmother was very mean and vicious to her daughter in law and in the 60's, her daughter in law gave birth to a son (my friend's brother) and the grandmother sold him to the priest. It was a time of the stolen babies in Spain. The grandmother was very mean to her daughter-in-law and to my friend. If my friend wouldn't have had the grandfather who told her to never stop dreaming and to do her own things, and had his love, she would have been a broken woman.

Bro was never humble he got butt hurt over a post about his work to the point he, like a little baby, sent his follows to harass the writer for giving a him a little critique, which the writer by no mean was shitting on his work, but cry baby Devon couldn't handle it. That tells me he has never spent any time in the art world where it's cutthroat and all artist no matter how famous they are get critique all the time it's part of making art.

My grandparents raised me, both my parents had their own demons. I worked in schools for 26 years and I would always tell the kids “don’t let your parents define who you are.” We all have are own path in life.
