- Welcome folks to another Seiko video where today we take a quick look at the uncasing on the Seiko Vader. Although similar to the Seiko Pogue there are some differences in how the casing is taken apart and how the bezel/chapter ring is adjusted.

Your on a roll buddy
fantastic! this is my actual watch... the fishbone was bought in 2012 and the guy that makes them no longer produces them. uncle seiko may have some now? The watch did get rather rusty after a long while, as I have lived in worked in environments as varied as the deserts of the middle east and the sub tropics of southern states. Pretty sure the seals and grommets went years ago! very excited to see my watch on the bench! I can thoroughly recommend Wellyn Watches... fantastic service, friendly and clearly expert! Thanks Mike!
Really enjoying these videos. Curious as to what you used to mitigate the rust inside the case?
To deal with the rust on casings you can use an ultrasonic with special cleaners but before that use a glass fibre brush to knock off the surface rust. If further treatment is need you can use Evaporust or Renaissance De Corroder but then the casing will require some cosmetic finishing after to revive the true finish. You can also use lemon juice and baking powder on a budget.
I may do a video showing this as it may help explain things better :)
