The movie is so good, the thing is, will there be a part 2? The movie ended with him about to write something and them looking at each other. I feel like we need a second movie to see what happens!!!! ❤❤❤
I don't think this movie is there to be liked in that way. It's not meant to be about romanticising children and adult relationships, I think it's more the opposite. If you were to read a news article online about a teacher who got into a romantic relationship with a student, you, like me, would feel disgusted. It is a gross thing to happen and of course it is taking advantage. But this movie is also showing that women can be manipulative and be the ones to initiate the relationship. And men can be weak and morally compromised to not put a stop to it. I think this movie was largely about the female student wanting to seduce him to ruin his life and he was pathetic enough to let her. At the end of the movie you don't have a clear good and bad guy, they're both people that you would want to stay away from. It's very much showing that sometimes both parties are guilty, and life's not so black and white as we are used to believing.
If he would have left his jerk wife for her he wouldn't have got in trouble and he'd probably be a lot happier. The social norms got in the way of the rational decision for Miller and the "me too" movement was his downfall for supposedly doing the right thing and rejecting her. Dang that man got done dirty.
