For those havent yet watched the film, I TOO was sceptical at first, but they somewhat made this work in way that doesnt come off trashy. It is a well directed and written movie. I recommend it.
If a movie showed a relationship between a male high school student and his male teacher you’d be against it. You’re a hypocrite. There’s scenes of Jenna and the teacher having sex. Showing grooming and predatory relationships isn’t ok just because the relationship is between a man and woman.

At least we're at a point in society where most media recognize these relationships as bad and not something to strife for. Unlike Pretty little liars, who wanted to convince millions of teenage girls that their adult teacher coming onto them is okay.

A 20 year old and a 26 year old are very different to let's say a 15 year old dating a 9 year old. At 16, your brain isn't mentally developed enough to be on par with that of a fully developed adult. On top, he's her teacher. Huge power imbalance (because consent is questionable if one partner can destroy the others future by altering their grades if they don't comply) and also illegal.

I was paralyzed and, under the influence of alcohol, I laughed away my confusion and fear with each comment he made. He touched me, stroked me, and kissed me on the mouth. I saw him as a figure of trust, like a father figure. He exploited exactly that. He sent me messages at night asking when we would see each other next, and I always refused. It happened once more, and then came summer break. For three months, I didn't tell anyone and suffered silently. I was so disgusted. It was the worst time of my life. It's been almost a year now, and he is no longer a teacher at our school because I finally spoke up. The police report was dismissed because he never made a statement. If something like this has happened to you, please speak out. People will understand and not judge you! That was really hard for me to understand. But please, gather the courage you need and confide in someone you trust.

You clearly missed the point of the movie then. Their relationship is supposed to be creepy and make you uncomfortable because of the huge age gap and him being her teacher. You're not supposed to romanticise it so why would you need like a supermodel to play his role instead. He's not a character you should be thirsting after.
