- I recently visited the Bimini, Bahamas cruise port for the very first time. During my visit to Bimini I discovered the best and cheapest way to explore this beautiful island - and now I am going to tell you all about it!

Bimini is a Bahamian Island, located just 55 miles east of South Florida. However, its proximity to Florida does not take away from its exotic nature. On Bimini you will find stunning blue and clear waters, clean and natural beaches, and shopping in the main trade center of Alice Town.
When visiting Bimini via the cruise port, there are many options for your day of discovery. While most of the cruise ship excursions on Bimini center around Resorts World and Beach 360, there are other cheaper options to explore the island on your own. Bimini is a beautiful place and can't be missed on your future cruise vacation!

Been to Bimini many times over the years. It’s a tiny, exclusive tropical paradise and I am so glad you did not just do the typical excursion. The locals have been hit really hard recently. Glad you chose to rent a golf cart and recommended to your viewers to venture out and support small, local restaurants and little shops off the resort areas. They should not be left out from benefitting from cruise passenger dollars as they desperately need our business and they are authentic and great. So many bloggers fail to showcase local businesses and they resort to the standard excursion which does not benefit small businesses on the island. Bimini is gorgeous, safe and worth exploring at your own leisure. Great job getting out there.👍👍
Thank you for watching and for the nice comment. I’ve tried to help out locals as much as I can in my travels after the brunt of the pandemic basically gutted them. Still so sad to see so many places in the state they are in. But they’re all still smiling and so welcoming. I loved Bimini and all the people there. Can’t wait to return!
I just took a trip to Bimini, the locals explained the pandemic actually helped their economic, since the cruise ship has been docking there more. Such a beautiful island 🇧🇸, I enjoyed eating with the locals!
I enjoyed my visit in March. The people were very nice, and accommodated me with my disability. The lady on the right hand side of the Alicetown Straw Market was exceptionally nice!

We are booked on the Carnival Magic for May 2022 scheduled for Nashua and Freeport. Since we have been on multiple cruises to those ports, we figured it was a couple of days to stay on the ship. Last evening I received an email stating a change in itinerary, replacing Nassau with Bimini. Having never been there, did a quick RUclips search and was pleasantly surprised! Definitely going ashore and exploring the island. Thank you for all of this very useful information!

Bimini is an absolutely beautiful and wonderful. I love that it DOES NOT currently have a diamonds international and all that. It’s just truly exploring an authentic Caribbean island. I’d also suggest getting some Bimini bread from the local bakery

So glad you posted this. We had no idea what we were going to do in Bimini. The golf cart was a perfect idea. I’m not sure if we went to the correct place to rent because they were trying to charge us $140 but we talked them down to $100. We felt like we were overcharged but paid anyway. We had a great time!! Thanks for this review!!!
It’s crazy they’ve gone up in price so much but glad you talked them down some. I guess since more people are visiting there now they had to.
Just got back this week and the price to rent the golf carts was $80. Still not a bad deal!!

Sarah it sounds like they’ve increased the price since I visited in February of 2022.
How timely. I just booked a Celebrity cruise in November a few hours ago stopping at Bimini. Bimini looks really chill. Seems like a great day to skip any excursions and just explore and hang out on a beach.

My sister and I are going to Bimini on Carnival in Sept 23. Love the untouched look at all the typical excursions; and just being able to get out and explore things on your own. I’ve been to marsh Harbor times in the past; before it got blasted by a hurricane… and Bimini reminds me much white marsh Harbour.

Love the video! They just changed our itinerary as well and I will be stopping by Bimini in a month. How long did the cart ride take you to get to the shipwreck and the beautiful beach? Also, they are the same destination correct? Or different stops?
Thanks for watching! They are basically the same place and it takes about 20 mins to drive all the way down there. Not a very big island, so easy to get around in a short amount of time.

There are public restrooms at the Marina. Other than that I am not sure.

Hi Zach thank you so much for the information. Do you know if the Tram takes you anywhere, besides the casino, like shopping, etc? Can you get on and off all day? It will just be me and my daughter, we will want to stay close to other passengers. I'm actually a little afraid to rent a golf cart just in case there's an issue, like a break down or getting lost, or anything else that can happen. Just want my daughter to have a great day. There were plenty when I was there, but it can’t hurt to do it as soon as you can just to ensure you get one!
We just got back from there : when we got off the ship we walked along the pier that was so cool because you can see fish in the water then we crossed the street we seen sea planes come in ,they had a store you can get pop and more things like snacks oh yes they have restrooms then we got on the FREE ride to the free beach rented chairs and a umbrella for $40.00 for the day the beach was clean you can get food there and cold drinks,we had a great day then back to the ship on the free ride right to the ship where you can take pictures of the ship.

Hey Zach thank you so much for the awesome video. I will be traveling along. Which beach is the best the paradise beach or the 360 beach? I want to get on the jet skis do you think it’s cheaper to purchase at the beach when I arrive or through a third party?
Hi there. Thanks for watching! I thought Paradise Beach looked awesome and there seemed to be plenty to rent there. You may be better off trying to get one the day of. Sometimes you can get things cheaper by waiting, especially if the price is negotiable.

Get off at the second tram stop at Paradise Beach! It’s beautiful and it’s the one you see where I actually rented the golf cart. All sorts of umbrellas and chairs available there for rent. Enjoy!

Yes! At the second tram stop, Paradise Beach, there were several umbrellas and chairs available for rent.

I actually didn’t eat anywhere on the island but there are plenty of local places to stop for food, especially toward the southern end. You’re going to have a blast and I hope you enjoy!

We like the idea of the golf cart rental. First, is the island safe and secondly can you share the name of the gc rental company? I know you suggested that a reservation isn't necessary but want things to go smoothly. Thanks in advance!
It is a safe island, yes! Unfortunately I don’t have the name of a company as I just rented from them with cash.
Great info! Did you make it back to the golf cart place without getting gas? Are there any local shops to get beach towels and such? And finally, how long did it take you to get back to the ship from the longest distance? I want to make sure my husband and I get back on time.
Yes, no gas needed all day! It was probably 20 mins or so from the farthest distance back to the midpoint on the island where the drop off and ship were located.
How did you feel going as a solo traveler? This will be my first solo cruise and I'm super curious how you felt leaving your golf cart while you went to the beach and stuff. T.i.a!
So this cruise I was actually traveling with my parents so didn’t experience the golf cart rental solo. Sorry I can’t be more helpful!

Yes there were especially at the Paradise Beach stop.

Thanks for watching! There are many places to safely park. You will see other golf carts all over the island parked about. There’s only one main road so it’s not difficult at all to navigate.

Yes, there were several vendors set up along the main road.
Hi Zach was just there... update on a few things... the smell of sulfer at the beach right off the port is horrid. The rentals for the golf cart are now 120.00 not 60. I was also a little confused as you said the tram would stop at paradise Beach. We looked at the map and it did not. It only took us the resort world beach which was right after 360🎉 Beach and fisherman's village. You rent the gulf carts at that location. They no longer ger go to paradise Beach. It was very disappointing. I took a photo of the map. However I can't attach it.

You won’t get lost. There’s really only one main road. Have a blast!

Just the one where I rented the golf cart. None of the other beaches on the island had anything available for rent.

I'm sorry, that is the only name given to me by the locals. It was located at the tram stop just after Resorts World.
Is there a liquor store on the island?
I am not sure - I would assume so. Check around the Marina area, as there were several shops there.
Do you know if I can reserve a golf cart in advance? Where was it you got your golf cart? Thank you in advance!
I have found no way to do this. I took the tram from the ship to the second stop (the beach stop) and the golf carts were right as you exit the tram.

Is there a lot to do at Resorts World Pool and Beach Experience, if so, what? We bought that excursion but without the drinks or lunch. Can you take the tram at anytime to visit the other islands or do we have to stay at Resorts World?
I am not sure what all there is to do at Resorts World, I didn’t visit there. I’m sure you can take the tram to the other places around the island whenever you’d like.
I've stayed at Resort World You can freely venture off to the area of the island with the Golf cart.
Did you have to fill the cart back up with gas? Do they give you a map of the island?
You do not have to fill it up with gas, they do all that for you. And they didn’t give a map but there’s really only one main road.

Can you get your passport stamped at the port?
What time should we start packing up to head back to return the golf cart and get on the tram. My concern is not getting back to the ship in time. How long does it take to get back to the ship if I was to drive the golf cart to south Bimini?
It’s not very far as the island isn’t big at all. I’d say give yourself 45-60 minutes from anywhere on the island to return the golf cart, catch the tram, and get back to the ship.
Where are restrooms available at?
There were some at the marina.
