- Inherently the curbside bulk pickup day in one of the local towns was this week. I was unaware of this and didn't have my camera with me at the time of discovery, so unfortunately there is no video of the actual scavenging. Here is a look at what was recovered from just a few streets. It's absolutely absurd how many working items in good, usable condition were discarded. The majority of this should have been brought to a local Goodwill for reuse.

wow bro you got a ton of stuff for free what a blessing from the LORD I enjoyed the video and i can't wait to see videos of the ones you keep
True I'll have more videos of this stuff to come.
Very nice scores you got out of some of that hill Jordan. Inconsistent Christmas lights that still work are very surprising to see these days. Also that lasco fan looks like it could use some work on the cord or likely a replacement cord at some point. Good to see you got some stuff that was free that still works and can be used hopefully in the future.
Thanks
That vcr is very nice looking and cool. I recently acquired a jvc vcr from the same era, but it didn’t work right and there was a recorded tape stuck inside. I got the tape out and took the vcr back and got another one, and this time it worked, so i went to see what was on the tape. Turns out that it was a tape of someone’s family home videos from 1985 and it surprisingly looked good for its age. Ive been trying to find the family who donated the vcr, but I’ve had no luck.
The video quality, as long as decent equipment was used, was a lot better back then than people seem to give credit for.
I live in a mobile home park and occasionally I go around each street to discover items. I found a modern-day 4733 and two of those modern-day 3733s and a couple of lasko pedestal fans. And a 24" drum fan. Guess what? All of them worked flawlessly. I mean, they had some dust on it but not enough to impact performance significantly. Also there was someone who threw out a washing machine that worked perfectly despite having a mold scent because it is a front loader. People are so wasteful.
what did you end up doing with all the fans you found
@@hitachifansandmore still have them, they all work
The waste is really getting out of control. I don't understand why all this stuff is not ending up at thrift stores instead.
Nice Finds Jordan!!
Thanks
Awesome scores the Jordan!
Thanks, an Aaron!
16:02 Central Machinery is a Harbor Freight brand.
Thanks for letting me know.
So now you have that window fan under possibly all the brands: Hampton Bay, SMC, and Pelonis. Maybe it was under some other store brands and Hawaiian Breeze too?
I've never had luck with old VCRs. There's always an issue with the tape mechanism. That one probably isn't worth it either. It may be a good quality build, but it will not have a good quality playback or recording. 4 heads, Hi-Fi stereo audio, and other things were huge improvements in VHS quality in the 00s. You'll need to use SP speed to get any kind of decent footage out of it. Quasar is under the Matsushita/Panasonic umbrella.
Kawasho looks to be almost unheard of other than a tiny CRT alarm clock radio which is really cool (even in color). It also looks to be based in the US and not the Japan. That's probably pretty good, color CRTs didn't change much.
My mother had that same 12V vacuum, I forgot it was by Oreck. I think she tossed or sold it because it lost suction. I never found it to work that well on the car carpet, and I hated the switch (yes, having to hold it on is intentional). DC vacuums just seem to stink all around.
Neat oven.
I feel like there were probably countless brands those things were sold under over the last 20 years.
That's disappointing, but at least it will still be a nice display piece with the original paper present. It's exceptionally clean.
I've never heard of the brand myself, I wonder if it was one of those cheap brands that was trying to imitate a better quality Japanese product. I don't really have much of any practical use for the TV either, chances are it will also just be an interesting display piece.
Just about anything with suction only is not going to work very well on carpet. I do agree the smaller low voltage vacuums generally don't perform that well. This may be good for small jobs on hard surfaces around the house like the stairwell, but I can't see it doing much of anything inside the vehicle.
The Sears food processor is a rebadged Hamilton Beach product. I have a Hamilton Beach one from early 80s and it has given me pretty good service. On that VHS VCR it was OEM by Panasonic and the common problems with these late 80s early 90s units is the caps in power supply are almost always bad. As they weren't good quality and even if the unit powers up and works there is still a good chance they are leaking on to the board. Except for belts they are pretty good VCRs. For the TV It uses a veractor diod tunner and if that set was from the late 80s it would be a low end set. I like old TV's I'm currently using a 1983 RCA TV that was pretty high end for the time.
Thanks for letting me know.
Really good finds
Thanks
O dang im in love with the way that tv looks
OK
It amazes me what people throw away I found a Holmes box fan that works fine it only needed cleaning it’s a shame that people don’t donate to thrift shops but I enjoy finding useful items in the trash
It amazes me as well.
Damn bro you find all the good shit nice vid
Thanks
I love the lasko 18” fans!
Thanks for letting me know.
@@JordanU You’re welcome, I just got
One of them for my living room!
You found some interesting stuff. Too bad you didn't have your camera with you, I like those kind of trash picking videos. I wish we had bulk trash pickup days in my area, I'm sure I would find some useful or at least interesting items.
I do as well. I'll have to keep note of this pickup for next year, I suspect it's probably done around the same time yearly.
@@JordanU Sometimes the city or county does it monthly or quarterly. You would have to look it up to find out.
Very nice curbside finds i can't wait to see more fan videos soon bro
Thanks
nice finds. i have that exact same cooler.
Thanks for letting me know.
youre welcome. will you ever be making separate videos of the quasar vcr and that crt television set?
@@user-pr9lw9de8j Perhaps at some point, but likely not in the near future. I don't have an analog TV converter box that I know of.
probably could keep that window fan as well, if it happens to perform well.
I could, but there's no real reason to when it's not old and I already have a lifetime supply of them. It would see more use from someone else.
@@JordanU Would be happy to possess that window fan if you are not interested in keeping it.
i cant wait for you to test out that hugger
oviously when its compleated sad that scrappers exist
How can I test the hugger? The motor isn't present...
@@JordanU like i said in my second comment "once its compleated"
