    Good video MA and a great list, the deanston 18 and anConc 18 for older malt’s are still a decent price. Another good 18 year old isTomatin 18 where I am around €80,well worth a purchase. Slàinte

    A viewer from Iceland, shedding silent tears over these prices... At our state run offlicences every run of the mill whisky, single malt or blended or whatever would fall into your highest category and then upwards (and the selection is very poor as well...) If you don´t know frequent flyers willing to carry home a bottle or two then whisky is an over the top expensive and almost hopeless hobby here up north... With that said I was surprised to find a couple of bottles (the cheaper ones) in my collection mentioned in this list... Keep up the good work, it´s nice to be on the outside but get a little glimpse on the inside every now and then... :)

    A very well thought out choice , not tried a AD yet , Laph cs is my fav go to . Love both 18 , Deanston just tops it for me , but my fav is the Billy Walker Glendronach Allardice bottling . Strange how to me the Ledaig 10 tastes like Laph 10 40% used to taste 20 odd years ago unless my tastes have changed .

    • @MaltActivist
      @MaltActivist  Год назад

      Agree with you on the Allardice - special dram that. Though maybe not as good as it used to be. Deanston 18 is my go to as is the Ledaig 10.

    Great List without a Doubt , if i would have something to complain about it,
    i would put Bunnahabhain 12 CS on this List too.
    Keep up the good work.

    I give you four whiskies right below 100£ which are better than the AncNoc in my humble opinion: Glen Scotia 18, Old Pulteney 18, Laphroaig PX Cask, Craigellachie 17. There you go!
    My favourite would be the Bunnahabhain 18, but it´s 104£ at the moment and the rules i know, i know.

    Great choices you had there! I could make a case for best under 25 would be WT101. I mean it is a beast and bourbon doesn't get that much better......law of diminishing returns or something like that lol Best under 100 currently would be for me the Edradour SV UCF 10yr. Awesome old school dirty sherry profile with a craft presentation. Now it used to be the older Billy Walker Glendronach Allardice would be around 100 delivered from the UK. That was an amazing deal. US pricing too! Now I think the best deals are IBs for me. Cheers boss!

    I like the Ancnoc, it does a lot right but is not so complex. In Germany the price is about the same as the Deanston and I would take either over that Speyburn 😁

  • @zoltanlakoyt8665
    @zoltanlakoyt8665 Год назад

    Yepp. Thougt it would be like this. When it comes to cheaper and generally younger whisky, peated ones are the way to go. The peat covers up most of the bad things in any whisky. I’d only buy snything from this starting from the Deanston 18. I just don’t like young peated stuff. When it comes to peated whisky toss me a Laphroaig 25, a Bowmore 27 or something in that range. Slàinte mate!🙌🏼🥃

    Good list. wow, 28 GBP for a 12 year old 46% ABV. I am sold! All your prices are way lower than what we see in the U.S. For example, I paid $64 for my Ledaig compared to your 35 GBP! I also have Port Charlotte 10, Ardnamurchan AD/09.22 Cask Strength, and Laphroaig 10 Year Old Cask Strength.

    I only see 60 pounds and up, many for 65-70, one instance even at 100 quid... ouch!

    Your comments that sometimes higher aged whiskies are not necessarily better than their younger siblings... I had a bottle of the Old Pulteney 35 and much preferred the 21 year old... and even the 17 was better... the 35 had become too wood dominated..

    • @MaltActivist
      @MaltActivist  Год назад

      Yeah, I would expect that to happen. You'd be surprised how many times distilleries discover forgotten casks and then bottle them
