    Open a DIY Festival. We can come to your place and you can just narrate while we beat on our own Jeep axles and our patience. Thx Nick 👌

    Soo how much did this build cost? Thank you for the very instructional video

      Hard to say as there were a lot of parts. Probably close to 2 grand or more including sourcing the axle. Locker alone was a grand, then add special jana gear kit, chromo shafts, junkyard disk brakes, truss, high quality paint, and hardware.

      NickInTimeFilms thanks for the inspiration. I’m now addicted to looking for axles and lockers for my ZJ. Hopefully I can find some axles, get them geared, throw in some ox lockers maybe ( or better yet find an axle with lockers) throw that shit under my shitbox and run the piss out of er til I can put a long arm kit and some 33’s to 35’s under it for some snow wheeling. Wish me luck

    This makes me miss my XJ (though it was a POS) My ZJ has the stupid 44a.

    Now would have been a good time to replace those parking brake shoes lol.. Unless you don't use your e brake. With a manual I prefer drums. Broke a front brake line and drove all the way home from a trail using the e brake haha

      Haha, the Ebrake doesn't get much use, but I think it'll still hold the truck in one place. I think the pads just wear down from all the grit getting in there, so whatever.

    Is there a kit you ordered for the disc swap. Or what vehicle can I get my parts from ?

    Why doesn’t anyone make The correct retaining plates For the mod

    • @NickInTimeFilms
      @NickInTimeFilms  4 года назад +1

      You can buy whole conversion kits from places like terraflex, but it seems that the c-clip axles aren't common enough to warrant a company making proper retaining plates.

    Where did u order the bearing kit

    I don't think those are the right backing plates for that rear axle. Is that a DANA 44A with the Aluminum pumpkin? Or is it a standard DANA 44 with the cast steel pumpkin? I don't think any DANA 44a parts will fit a standard DANA 44. DANA 44a is metric. Standard DANA 44 is SAE or the components are measured in inches. The differential covers aren't even interchangeable. What did that DANA 44 originally come out of? ZJ and WJ axles are DANA 44a.

      This is a stock Dana 44 rear axle out of an XJ. The older Renix era with tow package were lucky enough to get a D44 instead of the usual D35.

    Do you have a set of rasp bits for the dremel? They make short work of any job. I found a large and "detail" set on eBay a couple of years ago.

      Hmm, we had a bumpy one laying around, but it just wasn't cutting it. Might have to look into a variety pack.
