As a brazilian geology student in the University of Lisbon, thank you so much for this video!! Since I study in Portugal, I see more of national mineral specimens than brazilian ones. Thank you 😊😊

Loved the Andalusite, just a mesmerising colour changed. Andalusite has been covered before on this channel so I actually got a rough specimen.

Brazilian Amethysts are my favorite gemstone, and there are so many other gemstones like the Paraiba Tourmaline, they are gorgeous ❤

I have a mixed cut egg shaped Kunzite from Brazil and even though it's kept in the dark, it's faded a little over the past 30 years. If you know where I can send it for re-treatment to get it back to it's pink color, I'd really appreciate it. It's amazing how many jewelers know nothing about Kunzite and Spodumene. I recently had a Spodumene gem set into a choker and had to tell the guy "no extreme heat exposures, no sudden temp changes, no ultrasound, no steam clean, and to rhodium the 14k setting before setting the stone and no further polishing afterwards." He looked at me like I had 3 heads and after much huffing and puffing says "ok." It has that "I own an island" look because there's no light leakage and the faceting is exceptional.

The Natural formations of this Smokey Quartz is like a already cut & polished gemstone. Size is important, as is clarity, & the number of spikes in each matrix.

Darn. I was hoping to enter the contest for my collection. I'm in Canada but close to the Border .. I guess that doesn't count EH ? lol
Anyway, I was fortunate to get to order a bag of Amethyst Gemstones.
I would have LOVED that Spodumene with the inclusions. It is pretty unique looking. Unfortunately, it's outside my budget. The Huge Quartz with the "Under Water Appearance) is pretty awesome too. I'd love to have it in my collection for sure.
Thanks for what you do and thanks for the opportunity to buy some nice Brazilian Amethyst. African Amethyst can be very nice too but I think some of the deepest tone Amethyst comes from Bolivia. It is all beautiful and nice to have specimens from each region.

We have Aquamarine,Saphires, pearls,Alexandrite, cymophane and other Crysoberyls,Andalusite,Rubies, phenakite,Amethyst and other quartz and a lot more.
Fun Fact;Sri Lanka Has a Mountain entirely made of rose quartz(Namal Uyana)
And as a 17 years old kid who studies about gems .I realized that If you watched carefully while walking for a week, you can find at least 7 beautiful gemstones .

and let's not forget, the entire class of beryls, micro and macro crystalline quartzes, and imperial topaz too! Perhaps the focus on this clip was intended to be the more vague and obscure collector's gems. There's always hope for a Part 2 to the series. 🤞

That was fascinating. I remember touring the store H. Stern when I was in Rio and they had some amazing stones from the Minas Gerais mines there. They had dioramas of the mining process as you toured and windows to watch the raw gems being cut. It was very fun to watch. H. Stern was expensive, but a wonderful experience.
