I’ve heard four Molly Shannon stories today. Each so compelling .
1- the car crash that killed her mother, baby sister and cousin. She survived along with her father and older sister, how she struggled with that grief .
2- her father who drove the car that night was drunk , an alcoholic most his life that came out of the closet at age 72. Just so tragic not to be hiding , carrying guilt of the death of his wife, daughter and niece.
3- the sneaking airplane story
4- the agent scam story she and her friend did very successfully.
I will listen to anything she says . I don’t watch snl, so i don’t know her characters, but I’m sold on Molly, the person .

After 4 yrs, I'm still laughing lol. In today's time, you can't just walked on a plane and tour the city for the day, and dine & dash without ....but loving this story. Molly and her best friend had a blast in NYC

But the story was centered around her dad daring her and her friend. Molly's mother died when she was really young. This particular story doesn't really need a mom, if it were a movie. Just sayin.

That by far beats my 'sneak into a michael moore book reading in london' story. I know how it feels though to get away with tricking people. Its exhilarating! To convince people of a story & a role you're playing just to sneak into something is amazing. No harm, no foul.

I love Molly Shannon; and, I love her story. Although her story seems outlandish by today's standards, things like that used to happen. My friends and family have bizarre (but fun) stories too; times (and people) have changed a LOT. Btw, I loved Debra Messing and Molly Shannon as guests--good pairing.

That is SO wild. I wonder if they got the idea from the first AIRPORT movie? Helen Hayes played a stowaway on the flight, using almost the same ruse to get on the plane. She said her son dropped his wallet, she carried a mans wallet, the ticket agents told her to see the flight attendant. There was a jet walk at the rear door. She walked on, hid in the rest room until the doors were closed, then walked to an empty seat and sat down. She was going to New York and got caught. I remember back then, my first flight in 1971, there was no security, or metal detectors at all. You just showed your ticket to the gate agent and walked on. What a funny story.
