I don't bother with quarantine when it comes to Discus, I just do what you do to my entire shoal for a week or two.. They do much better acclimating in a large group IMO, and a long lasting quarantine just causes the new fish stress, which in turn leads to health issues anyhow. Then you pop new now weak and stressed fish in with a shoal of other fish and boom, you have a problem. Just put em together and treat em all, unless something obvious is wrong with them like ich, and if that's the case you shouldn't have made that purchase, if you can't ID a sick a fish. All your new fish are clean, were shipped in medicated water, and clearly came from a good source. I would not be worried about these Discus in the slightest. But that's just my opinion.
@@DiscusNT i only buy discus i can see and observe for a time at a store. Always pick the “ healthiest “ looking ones along other traits i am looking for. This does not mean that they will not not be bringing in a trojan horse. For rushed quarantine process had a breakout of columnaris. Lost about $4,000 in Discus alone. And lost 1/2 of all other fish in my “fish room”. . We all do what works for us. I threat prophylactically going on the side of caution. I have had tapeworms expelled during quarantine and never lost discus during quarantine due to stress. I go accordingly to recommended dosing and with “rest “periods in between. Discus are hardier than most people think. All my discus have gone through my same process and all do fine “acclimating” to other tank mates. That has been my experience. It works for me. Thanks for your comments
