    Key summaries are:
    - Visceral fat elevation can lead to elevated insulin levels, impeding the body's ability to burn fat effectively and promoting fat storage.
    - Identifying and reducing visceral fat can help prevent metabolic decline.
    - Metabolically healthy obesity is a rare exception where individuals can be obese but still metabolically healthy.
    - Limiting sugar intake, especially high fructose corn syrup, is important as it can lead to insulin resistance and increased visceral fat.
    - Increasing soluble fiber intake, such as flax seeds and chia seeds, can reduce visceral fat.
    - Cardiovascular exercise, particularly higher intensity aerobic exercise, is more effective at reducing visceral fat compared to resistance training.
    - Getting sufficient sleep is crucial for managing visceral fat. Strategies include consuming tart cherry juice, taking tryptophan supplements, avoiding carbohydrates before bed, scheduling exercise appropriately, and exposing oneself to red or low light in the morning.
    - Consider getting a DEXA scan to assess visceral fat levels and track progress.

  • @a.a1637
    @a.a1637 Год назад +10

    Tips to tackle visceral fat:
    - Eat fruits instead of refined starch
    - Cardio: Aerobic exercise
    - Reduce stress
    - Monounsaturated fats ( macadamia nut and olive oil )
    - Reduce sugar ( desensitised insulin receptors )
    - Soluble fiber intake 10g increased in a diet daily ( can be in the form of flaxseed and chia seed ).
    - Sleep 😴 : no carbs 3 hrs before bed. High intensity morning and low intensity around bedtime. Also you could have red tart cherry juice

Within the first 6 months lost 35 lbs and dexascan showed .07lb visceral fat. Almost 4 years on keto/low carb now and recently wore cgm to see which carbs I can tolerate. Sadly most fruits except berries cause a glucose spike (even just 1/8 red grapefruit with protein and fat).

I was losing weight and the fat was coming off for the next 3 weeks. The next 2-3 weeks nothing was happening again. Then I was maintaining the same weight for a cple weeks but losing size. After that I gained weight but lost size. So I've had some interesting results.

They are burning that fat while playing and need to constantly eat calories to keep the weight on during the season. But a lot of these guys retire and all of a sudden have 6-packs without loose skin. Just look up Joe Thomas, but he's one of many.

I think he's saying HIIT is a quick, effective way to get the body to burn more visceral fat. But running 4 miles is going to burn some too. I guess a lot of people aren't going to run 4 miles that regularly. But almost anyone could find time to do some HIIT.

Sorry Thomas, but if I'm not mistaken, you're rather off in terms of your calculations on what makes up 10g of increased daily intake of soluble fiber. My daily dose of supr colnon clsne (misspelling intentional) provides only 2g. Then, my twice daily bowl of old fashioned oats (2 x 1/2 cup) provides only another 2g. As much as I love it, having (10) 1/2C servings per day isn't something I want as there are too many carbs. I'll check further, but upping by 10g per day seems quite challenging from what I currently have on hand. As always, great content though. Thanks!

@@EA-ck4so Thanks! Yes, I just checked some other sources. I was going by my product labels. Internet says that oats have a lot more than the label says, so I've still got a lot to look up. Flax has a lot apparently, and I do eat a lot of avocados. Black beans and sweet potatos have a lot as well. I guess I'm going to have to weigh getting at least 10g of sol fiber per day with having a low carb diet. I really don't see how I can have both.

@@rickkennedy7256 I am one week strict keto, 3 weeks low carbs for many months. No issues with fiber at all. But then, I eat 1-2 avocados and nuts every single day (one large avocado is almost 10 grams of fiber).
That said, black beans are so high in fiber that by having a reasonable portion you can both get fiber and still stay low carbs.
I have also discovered lots of root veggies that are low carbs and can add additional fiber to my diet: turnips, rutabaga, kohlrabi, carrots, pumpkin (no butternut squash though). And of course, all kinds of mushrooms!

Omega 3s + choline + carnitine +b vitamins + magnesium. The body needs nutrients to oxidize fats, it doesn't just magically happen. I'd stay away from fructose in any shape or form, even fruits ( maybe blueberries and stuff ) . You need nutrients during your fasts for your body to use your own body fat, otherwise it will use up muscle to help to burn the fat.

The question is how many calories you are taking in at the Iftar. To lose weight you need to eat at a calorie deficit relative to your base metabolic rate, and with all of that delicious food (and sweets!), I can see how it’s easy to mess that up.
