Key summaries are: - Visceral fat elevation can lead to elevated insulin levels, impeding the body's ability to burn fat effectively and promoting fat storage. - Identifying and reducing visceral fat can help prevent metabolic decline. - Metabolically healthy obesity is a rare exception where individuals can be obese but still metabolically healthy. - Limiting sugar intake, especially high fructose corn syrup, is important as it can lead to insulin resistance and increased visceral fat. - Increasing soluble fiber intake, such as flax seeds and chia seeds, can reduce visceral fat. - Cardiovascular exercise, particularly higher intensity aerobic exercise, is more effective at reducing visceral fat compared to resistance training. - Getting sufficient sleep is crucial for managing visceral fat. Strategies include consuming tart cherry juice, taking tryptophan supplements, avoiding carbohydrates before bed, scheduling exercise appropriately, and exposing oneself to red or low light in the morning. - Consider getting a DEXA scan to assess visceral fat levels and track progress.
Tips to tackle visceral fat: - Eat fruits instead of refined starch - Cardio: Aerobic exercise - Reduce stress - Monounsaturated fats ( macadamia nut and olive oil ) - Reduce sugar ( desensitised insulin receptors ) - Soluble fiber intake 10g increased in a diet daily ( can be in the form of flaxseed and chia seed ). - Sleep 😴 : no carbs 3 hrs before bed. High intensity morning and low intensity around bedtime. Also you could have red tart cherry juice

Can't eat fruit. Love it, but when blood test said risk for NAFLD went keto/low carb and stopped my usual snacking on cottage cheese and fruit (grapes, kiwi, banana, cherries. etc.) Within the first 6 months lost 35 lbs and dexascan showed .07lb visceral fat. Almost 4 years on keto/low carb now and recently wore cgm to see which carbs I can tolerate. Sadly most fruits except berries cause a glucose spike (even just 1/8 red grapefruit with protein and fat).

I think he's saying HIIT is a quick, effective way to get the body to burn more visceral fat. But running 4 miles is going to burn some too. I guess a lot of people aren't going to run 4 miles that regularly. But almost anyone could find time to do some HIIT.
What kind of red light is that? I have been looking into red light therapy, but I keep seeing these huge arrays that cost hundreds of dollars. What is that hand-held size you have in the video?
Sorry Thomas, but if I'm not mistaken, you're rather off in terms of your calculations on what makes up 10g of increased daily intake of soluble fiber. My daily dose of supr colnon clsne (misspelling intentional) provides only 2g. Then, my twice daily bowl of old fashioned oats (2 x 1/2 cup) provides only another 2g. As much as I love it, having (10) 1/2C servings per day isn't something I want as there are too many carbs. I'll check further, but upping by 10g per day seems quite challenging from what I currently have on hand. As always, great content though. Thanks!
@@EA-ck4so Thanks! Yes, I just checked some other sources. I was going by my product labels. Internet says that oats have a lot more than the label says, so I've still got a lot to look up. Flax has a lot apparently, and I do eat a lot of avocados. Black beans and sweet potatos have a lot as well. I guess I'm going to have to weigh getting at least 10g of sol fiber per day with having a low carb diet. I really don't see how I can have both.
@@rickkennedy7256 I am one week strict keto, 3 weeks low carbs for many months. No issues with fiber at all. But then, I eat 1-2 avocados and nuts every single day (one large avocado is almost 10 grams of fiber). That said, black beans are so high in fiber that by having a reasonable portion you can both get fiber and still stay low carbs. I have also discovered lots of root veggies that are low carbs and can add additional fiber to my diet: turnips, rutabaga, kohlrabi, carrots, pumpkin (no butternut squash though). And of course, all kinds of mushrooms!
Omega 3s + choline + carnitine +b vitamins + magnesium. The body needs nutrients to oxidize fats, it doesn't just magically happen. I'd stay away from fructose in any shape or form, even fruits ( maybe blueberries and stuff ) . You need nutrients during your fasts for your body to use your own body fat, otherwise it will use up muscle to help to burn the fat.

I’m so confused on what kind of lifestyle to try again I’m skinny no matter what and a bloated looking belly. Very difficult to workout as I’m disabled with a bad low back but honestly can we have some videos of maybe why you choose Keto and why low carb is “In” these days.
How many carbs do you do in a day, fats proteins etc.
Just a thought
Definitely try keto and intermittent fasting. I have the same body type and since stating those two things in January , I’ve lost of lot of bloat to my face and belly and my waist is smaller
@@yerbamate86 when I take carbs out of my diet as I’ve always been skinny I loose to much weight and have zero energy and get headaches, even with the fats.
Pretty sure I’ll always need carbs in my life but in lower amounts and only higher amounts once I’m healthy enough to train hard.
@@bubblesrcshedcarbs are fine...eat a variety of foods...eat a large meal once per day and you'll be just fine
Ei man, i hope you're doing good now
How accurate are the digital scales that claim to measure Visceral Fat?
Extremely inaccurate George...the dexascan is probably your best bet👍
How much water per day? Should water be drunk during meals?
Do they deliver to the uk . I watch every video as they are released
What do u do/eat/drink to get your veins to pop
what if you're skinny fat that runs sprints, practice tennis, do taekowondo, and lift weights?
Stop drinking beer?
@@hereweare9011 i don't drink much alcohol.
my belly has been always fat, I got sick once and I stopped eating anything, I got really skinny my family was worried however my belly was still fat. is that normal?
So are you saying doing HIIT/SIT is better for reducing visceral fat than say, when I run 4 miles?
I think he's saying HIIT is a quick, effective way to get the body to burn more visceral fat. But running 4 miles is going to burn some too. I guess a lot of people aren't going to run 4 miles that regularly. But almost anyone could find time to do some HIIT.
Very informative and clear. Thank you
What kind of red light is that? I have been looking into red light therapy, but I keep seeing these huge arrays that cost hundreds of dollars. What is that hand-held size you have in the video?
For skinny fat situation, why you don't recommend fasting or OMAD ?
Question; Is visceral fat both white and brown fat? WE have been told that white fat has to transform to brown fat in order to burn ....??
White fat cannot "transform" into brown fat, but it can "beige" and give a percentage of the advantage.
what about sauna for fat loss ??
Is a dexascan the most accurate way to measure body composition? Does that also give resting metabolic rate?
It adds radiation exposure similar to an X-Ray 😖
Just add soluble fiber rich foods to your diet to start with
I’m 5’9” 150lbs 56yrs old and my stomach waist area is my problem area. Just seems I can’t get it in shape. 🤷🏻🤷🏻
Insulin resistance is cause of visceral fat …I think visceral fat is because of Insulin Resistance
Thanks!
I am often at 35-40 grams of fiber per day. Avocados, nuts, seeds, cabbage. I don't eat pulses but they are also very high in fiber.
And of course, all kinds of mushrooms!
got no love handles ( actually close to being shredded), just that stubborn thing around belly button😞
What about smaller portions of healthy food?
Omega 3s + choline + carnitine +b vitamins + magnesium. The body needs nutrients to oxidize fats, it doesn't just magically happen. I'd stay away from fructose in any shape or form, even fruits ( maybe blueberries and stuff ) . You need nutrients during your fasts for your body to use your own body fat, otherwise it will use up muscle to help to burn the fat.
66 percent of Americans are magnesium deficient...I'd recommend everybody get on a magnesium supplement
@@richardlawson6787 i'd venture to say around 90%, measuring with a HTMA test is more accurate. If blood levels show deficiency then you are in a critical state.
Finally watched the video.. literally been doing this for years… still fat…😒
“Brand New Data” lol
That's me! Lol
Thanks!!!❤
I’d like to know the reason why I don’t lose weight in the month of Ramadan I fast the whole month and I don’t lose any weight and I been on keto for almost 3 years, can you help please we’re gonna start are fasting month in couple of days so can you give me some tips please
The question is how many calories you are taking in at the Iftar. To lose weight you need to eat at a calorie deficit relative to your base metabolic rate, and with all of that delicious food (and sweets!), I can see how it’s easy to mess that up.
this i hard as a muslim my self i know lossing weight is very hard but it can be done with hard work and dedecation and commitment and concetency its hard to turn food away ay iftar but stay focused and keep going stay of the fizzy pop and sugar as much as you can you will be half way there
Are you eating multiple times between sunset and sunrise or only once?
@@EA-ck4so one time only, and I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for a long time, but I just plateau in Ramadan
Staying up in hours you were meant to sleep may also contribute to high cortisol levels too which stops fat-burning mechanism.
Some people do t have the money to buy your products
How about hormonal imbalances?
“Solid” camp 😂😂
Yep
That's me to a T...gonna take care of this...thanks for the kick in the pants!
