It's refreshing to see a young guy that not only understands the concept of starting at the bottom and paying your dues but who also likes to work with his hands. I have a friend that owns a hot rod shop and he's always talking about how rare it is to see mechanics or fabricators under 35.
Its because of the "dues" we have to pay. It would fine if living costs were reasonable but kids dont want to break their backs for a decade only to still live with their parents. The young guys are given the most laborious jobs that pay the least. I worked for Firestone for two years at 12/hr flat rate and it nearly ruined my life because of back problems. The stack all the fleet vehicles with only oil changes and tire rotation and they dont buy any other services you recommend. Id have to go through 20 vehicles vs the 5 that older guys had to do. It takes more energy to pull the cars in and rack the lift than the actually mechanical work. I was exceeding the expectations placed on me but they kept saying a raise is right around the corner just to keep you around. I would recommend to young guys to the bare minimum in your 20s, enjoy life. Do mechanical work on the side to learn amd gain experience and don't bother applying for a job as tech untill your 30. Unless you find a good spot at a smaller shop. Big chains shops like firestone or midas don't care about your skill or experience, if youre young they will just take advantage you.
That new Triumph looks great. The frame looks so much like the YZ-F frame of 2006-2009. I have owned and ridden a number of those era Yamaha's and they were so comfortable.
I've been a porsche Motorsport mechanic since the mid 2000s doing endurance road racing and motec has been involved in American road racing for decades it's only new to the motocross scene
What I want to know is , what are the "Factory parts" if any ? Does Triumph ships special part ? Is there a Triumph MX Racing departement somewhere that is working for both the AMA and the MX2 teams ?
Those bikes are so sick honestly I just wouldn’t buy the first year of any bike, car or truck. Improvements will be made and I’m excited to see more bikes available for the 2025 lineup as they expand their dealer network and also release a 450
Does the ECU use GPS to alter the engine mapping depending on where he is on the course? Does the bike have adjustable launch control like Jett’s GET ECU (with LED display on the front fender)?
So weird, that seat bump. I raced moto for 40 years. I always wanted my weight as far forward as possible. Except in sand. But I never need a bump to remind me. Just seems really weird. You still need ot get your weight over the front. Zack Osborne is a super short dude. if you watch him racing he is always on the back. I truly believe that is just an issue and an adjustment he makes because of his stature. RC was the same way. he had a very weird bike set up but worked for him. Just interesting, not saying it's wrong or anything. Heck, these are the best in the world.
When I see really tall mechanics I can’t help but think they probably wanted to race moto but realized it’s not in the cards genetically at a certain age and go mechanic route.
@AndrewJohnson-vz6dc you're good bro, welcome back to the best sport on the plane. You got it right! Zack and Joey are working together and they train together they're good friends now as wild as that is 😂
@@underthetrees4780 Crap happens dude. Hunters bike popped a motor right in front of me at Southwick last year, that doesn't mean Honda is junk. All of these bikes blow up, every last one of them.
Yeap and a Star Yamaha and Factory Honda quit last year as well. Years before you saw Pro Circuit and Factory KTM’s quitting too. Everyone has it happen. This the first year and I think they’re doing great overall. Swoll is consistently in the top 10 and Savatgy has top 5 speed.

Can't do the job if you can't pay your bills. Bummer, being a mechanic used to be a great job.
d smith is the man. Hes Kicking ass.

You did good Dillion. It is awesome to see a younger guy on a factory team as the mechanic. Keep up the good work!
Cool to see a young lad doing it 👌
You can tell that young man is a good dude! Be easy on him old fella
JS17 has a lot of talent and Heart, Good luck Guys 🍀 Rooting for Team Triumph 🤘
Hell yes brother!! Alpine, WY!! New Fan Here!! I will be cheering you on ! Love Triumph, love Alpine, love the sport!!!
Going Motec is definitely super cool

Crazy cool to see a Motec system on a bike!
Motec ECU, now that's pretty cool
More Mechanic interviews please! Let’s get #166 CC’s mechanic in here 🏁🇺🇸
He did a great job for such a young guy.
In my 40s and I'd be nervous as hell tripping over my words and bright red.
I agree, that bike is a rocket
Sick Bike!!!
Great interview!
Savatgy is amazing
Yes ,a 450 rider doing average in the 250 class sure is Amazing
Sweet looking dirt bike triumph make good road bikes
Sweet bikes they look awesome.
Yeah Smithrides!!🔥
Wow, so cool.
Danger boy is bringing the heat 😅 big dog is on 🔥
This kid has a good future if he handles himself this well now, congrats to him ….sweet build
Did the motor grenade at hang town? The official response as with all manufactures was "electrical".
Then there’s your answer!
These Truumph bikes might be the best bike platform on the track imo.

Man I wish that I could put my hands on those triplo clamps and on that factory suspension, rain tire on the back and MX34 front ?
Anyone know where all of these teams are getting there rubber grip tape on the frame?
anchor grip tape
@@Skiwomp thank you
Need to get that MOTEC racing exhaust on that bad boy. 😅
For the record I didnt click the like until Keefer mentioned his lawn.
What’s with the throttle cables routed behind the bars? Can’t see how that would work.

I know some of the guys and been ti the facility. Triumph is for real.
I hope with all the data they have they know what happened to Joey's bike at hangtown last weekend and the DNF and why it stopped running?
What is the red thing sitting behind the front number plate
Motec has been in drag racing since the 90s.
Wonder why they went with Motech when OEM runs a GET
I love the club bikes but this might take the cake on best looking bike in the pits
Is that an oxygen sensor on the exhaust? Anybody know?
Yes, for mapping
Nice Jacket Keefer
What wheel and tyre sizes ??

Love ya Keefer! But you are starting to look like Jody Weisel😅 just noticed 🤙
When I see really tall mechanics I can’t help but think they probably wanted to race moto but realized it’s not in the cards genetically at a certain age and go mechanic route.
Osborne sat THE FURTHEST BACK on the seat so this doesnt surprise me 😂
Shout out to Scotty 2 Hotty!
Sure like to see these in a different color. Really dislike black bikes. Go with a silver green Penton look:-)
Bad karma straight from Keefer as Joey gets a mechanical in the first moto lol so much for that bonus
You wanna talk about a lucky laid back mechanic just raking it in..lol jetts mechanic has no sweat..😂😂
wait so Zack Osborne the same guy who wrecked savatgy on the final lap of 2017 an take the championship from him is training him now
Where have you been 😂

That’s a Ktm motor.
No its not.
kinda bad timing ,he DNF last weekend
I was impressed with Triumph in SX, but that was tough.
Eh, shit happens. Bikes break, parts fail. Its been doing great in MXGP

Put a Rotex 2-stroke in and I might buy it over a YZ.
Ypu mean Rotax?
does Rotax even make modern 2 strokes? i cant remember seeing one since ATK folded
@Sleepy.Time. I believe they make motors for ski-doo, go-carts, and snowmobiles.🏁🤙
Always some muppet with a comment like this. The 2 stroke has been dead outside of enduro for 20 years bud.
@@Sleepy.Time.Not sure about bike engines, but they make turbo efi 2 strokes for skidoo sleds so certainly could make one if they wanted
Dillion is more interesting than Joey
boring little details. NOT INTERESTED
go joy . u best
