We love going to Charleston!! Great video! We accidentally discovered the Sweetwater Cafe located right next door to the City Lights Coffee. Great find find for lunch and breakfast. What camera do you use for you videos/vlogs? Have you a video on your gear?

As a local, I'm happy to see y'all enjoyed our beautiful little city. I can never in good conscience recommend Hyman's, but if you're in that part of town and want good seafood, Hank's (on Hayne St) is delicious. One of our newer restaurants, Tempest, is a great option for romantic dates, that won't break the bank. For lunch, I like Meeting at Market (literally on the corner of Meeting and Market Streets) or Henry's (on Market) and for dessert, Off Track on Beaufain St, just off King is incredible!

Bro this video is all the vibes! Charleston is literally my favorite place in the world. Try The Shelter restaurant in Mt Pleasant next time, also the best beach is Sullivans Island. It has the best sand and is the least crowded

Loved living there while I was there. The lifestyle is a bit slow for me.
It's like everyone is constantly on vacation . Just a different type of vibe.
Oh goodness. Hymans. Lol My favorite restaurant closed, but for seafood, next time try the Boathouse either on Inlet Breach or Ellis Creek for fancy, but if you want where locals go, go to Daves Carry Out. Best fried shrimp and best butter (Lima) beans you will ever have.

It would be impossible to try all of the Charleston restaurants in 4 days. Magnolia's is good, but very traditional. If you ever have a late night dessert/ coffee craving try Kaminskys.

I live downtown. I get going to Hymans for out of towners. To locals, it’s a tourist trap. City lights is good. Miller’s was a good choice, but locals know what to say to get around the wait. Upper king at night is dope. Some options for next time (on the peninsula) would be Darling Oyster Bar, Harolds Cabin, Kudu coffee, Fleet Landing (tourist location but good), 167 Raw, Little Jacks (ask for the secret menu), Callies Hot little Biscuit.

When there are an abundance of amazing coffee shops, you’ll NEVER catch me at Starbucks! There are so many fantastic little coffee houses. Hate that City Lights had to close!

I find it hilarious that it of all the places you went locals don't go to them. They are the tourist traps. We prefer the mom and pop places that you have to be local to know about.

I was thinking the same thing - we all hate Hymans. 🤣 I would say, Travis, next time y'all come to Charleston, join the Chucktown Foodies Facebook group where all the locals talk food. There are so many hole in the wall places that are worth seeking out. :)

I was at Pages about 4 days ago. Good food. I always go to pages when I’m visiting from Charlotte.
Two things: 1) If you ever come to Charleston, PLEASE avoid the temptation of getting Starbucks and go to a local coffee shop. We have SO many incredible coffee shops that you have to experience to appreciate and support them! 2) 100% Back not going to The Grocery. It's Over-priced (even for Charleston) and small servings.

@@ohsostefanie I feel honored to even be asked 😇 There are 2 shops that are both owned by the same company but it is Harken and The Harbinger Cafe! Harken is more centrally located Downtown so might be walkable depending on where you're staying, The Harbinger Cafe is more off the beaten path but absolutely worth it for the coffee AND food.

Not a bad video, you hit most of the tourist type destinations. Next if time, hit some of the lesser tourists restaurants. Not every thing is on king street only
Take it from a local. The best seafood in Charleston is at the Seewee restaurant in Awendaw. Charleston has so much good food. You two barely scratched the surface.
I was in Charleston about 4 days ago and the lady at front desk was raving about Sewee and told my wife and I that we should go and try the food before we head back to Charlotte. We went about 7 - 8 hours after her recommendation and boy was I let down. The food to me and this is just my opinion and my wife’s but the food is horrible not just bad but horrible. They literally don’t use any seasoning at all. I mean not one drop. I ordered some fries and I should have picked up that something would be wrong when she said that the fries might be a little gritty or something like that but they were undercooked. How do you mess up fries they were cold and and not done. We laughed after we left the place. We were like they had our food at our table before we even sat down but I guess the locals love this place.

My one critique.....any...any coffee is better than Starbucks! Worst coffee in the world but they do have great pup cups! Alfie nailed it!

The best desserts in the entire world are at Carmelas bakery in Charleston. Their cannoli cake is to die for. Also I love the chicken and waffles at hymans

Next time go to Page’s Okra Grill. It’s right over the Ravenel bridge from Charleston. They have award-winning Shrimp and Grits, and their staff are friendly and fun.

We are going to Charleston and are going to make a video far more informative and less annoying than the 11 minutes and 48 seconds that we wasted by watching this video. This video actually taught me nothing about the food in Charleston other than you going to places and having 5/10 reactions then rating the place a 9.0184xxx/10.
