I think it's an okay channel, but overrated. The tutorials are often missing important aspects for beginners and even intermediates. Moreover, his videos often don't specify which skill level the movement is. This particular video is a good example. I think he rarely works with people who are new to the hobby.

What's funny is how regular weight-lifting misses those "connecting" muscles that allow a person to do such skin the cats so easily. You can do all the rows, situps, pullups etc in the world and still not be able to make this exercise look as easy as what this young man does. It's those "interconnecting" muscles that are the weak link and we're only as strong as our weakest link. Gymnastics is the best form of exercise. It gives you control over your body that just weight-lifting doesn't do.

learning the skin the cat just now!! this is what I like about calisthenics... you progress to a different exercise which is a qualitative measure. And once you accomplish a skill its like you did what you thought couldn't be done with your body aka the impossible. you feel so great... at the gym you just progress through weights doing the same thing over and over again which can be quite boring

    • @ibaikintana908

marcos krupiczer in fact it's easier (at least in my personal opinion and experience). The reduced range of motion on the 180° version makes the exercise less fatiguing than the 360° one. Another point is that the time under tension is also not that much. I reccomend you to try both (on a progression you are able to) and feel the difference😅.

Well the only other name I know of is a German Hang but that’s not offensive, except if you don’t like ze Germans.

german hang is quite offensive. as far as i know it is a method to torture ppl which was applied in the kzs in the ns regime. they hang ppl in the bottom position of the german hang till the shoulders could no longer hold the weight. i heard this second hand, but it would fit to what daniel said.

It sucks that im 6ft 4 and my pull-up bar isn't high enough for me to do this exercise. There isn't a pull-up bar high enough for me to buy and do anything with my legs out straight lol. I would have to have something fixed into the ground but I'm not planning on staying in the house I'm in so there isn't any point at the moment. it sucks being tall.

Hey I have got a question... are there any exercises to do in non-train days? Becuase I can't stand the feeling of doing nothing in these. Thanks for answer!

I’ve been recently doing this exercise I am pretty early in the stages though, I am getting use to coming from the tuck front lever to the back I haven’t fully been able to bring myself back through though but definitely working on it, it’s definitely one of the weirdest exercises just because of the position of the shouldars when you’re not used to doing it takes a while to get use to it but I like it it really engages your whole body and plus I think it’s quite cool takes a lot of strength and patience to do this exercise.

is doing pull ups harder on bar or rings?
cos for me perosnally i found that rings are way easier and enjoyable for me for doing muscle ups and everything in between (also core works more cos it needs to stabilize body, espeically with straight (90 degree legs)
if anything i find doing pull ups on bar better for back (lat) muscles but i can not do muscle up there

So, as I'm progressing in my bodyweight skills and calisthenics I get closer and closer to just cancelling my gym membership altogether. I wanted to ask you though, do you still do conventional weight training? I don't want to lose the physique I've built, but I feel like the calisthenics would maintain what I have. I do want to know if you supplement your bodyweight stuff with conventional weights before I make a decision though. Thanks man.
