Thank You! This kit came with my waterbed. I had no idea what it was for.

This video makes me miss my waterbed. I would have never gotten rid of it but my doctor advised because of my arthritis. I just remember always climbing into a warm bed. Heat makes me feel better. Thanks for posting! 😊
love this! We loved our waterbed for forever
For draining I find it easiest to just do a regular siphon. Shove the hose down inside the mattress, attach the hose to the faucet and run the water long enough to fill the hose with water and then disconnect the hose and run it out the window to a spot lower than the bed. The water in the hose will start the siphon automatically.
@Jason Ingalls. Thanks so much for your comment and suggestion. I wish you the best of luck with your next diy project. Have a great day and hopefully you subscribe to Big Al Repairs.
I just use the regular siphon as Jason Ingalls states. I've had waterbeds since 1985. After you drain the mattress, use a Wet/Dry Shop Vac to pull out the remainder of the water if you are pulling the mattress out of the frame or moving.
Thanks for the tips! I like the wet/dry shop vac recommendation!
Appreciate the video. It's been years since I last drained a waterbed. Liked the tip about the rag over the sink to remove the aerator without scratching.
Thanks for your nice comment! We appreciate you taking the time to let us know! Good luck with your future projects.
Could you use a flexible hose that only inflates when the water is on? It curls back up when you turn the water off.
Good information and to the point. Confirmed that we set up right but hose is to long. Thank you!
Thank you for watching and for the nice comment! Hope all went well!
Thanks so much for your comment and hopefully you subscribed to big al repairs so we can keep filming.
So if hose is to long it will cause to not siphon properly is that what I’m getting??
I bought the kit via Amazon and I just cannot get the adapter to screw on either my kitchen sink or the two bathroom faucets?
Hey, I am sure you already tried this but did you remove the aerator on the faucet first? Although most faucets have standard sizes in the US some are a bit different. There are some other aerator adaptors that fit the different sizes. Do you know what size your faucet threading is? You could go to lowes or a hardware store to find an aerator adaptor to then fit the adapter on the kit. Also is your hose close enough that you can use the hose directly from the outside faucet? Let us know!
Use a metal adaptor not the plastic one. Home centers have them.
Fine as far as it goes ... but if your mattress contains internal layers of fabric to add firmness to the mattress ... they will hold water and draining takes forever. They also prevent suction of the last several gallons. The next result is you'll end up muscling around a 200 pound mattress.
@Kmuggle. Luckily our mattress was not baffled which made it easier. Best of luck with your next DIY project.
Thank you
Thanks for your comment.

Thank you Mo
You never primed it first
? please explain what you mean
No need to prime it with the aerator.
