i bought this mic about 4 month ago and i didn't realize i needed an phatom power, i bought a sound card the f998 and yet nothing. It is when i watch your video that i realize what was wrong, i have no phantom power which i have now ordered thanks to you
I bought the NW 800 mic. Without the Phantom power supply. I will have to buy one. Cause my mic never worked on my pc. Which i thought it would. I searched through other videos and this is one of the best videos about this
After watching a gazillion videos, I finally found one that was helpful. That advice on turning on playback was the dealbreaker for me. Because you addressed an issue most of us had. And don't just get a Neewer phantom power, buy a sound card. Bro, the volume is gonna be so much better with it.
Be aware of that the transformer is VERY noisy, at least the European version is and as such needs to be located on the floor to stop from interfering.
I have brought several low cost microphones. None gave me sound I wanted I finally purchased PD-70 from Presonus with a Focusrite solo audio interface..In the end you get what you pay for.
So very nice detailed video! Would you recommend it for a starter podcasting mic? Was it really THAT quiet without the external sound card? Please post which external audio card did you end up using and if it was good? Thank you man...!
The onboard dosent supply the mic with enough power thats why its so low but with an interface its golden I paid 24 for my neewer mic I have it connected to my Soundblaster AE-9 suits my needs for what it is!
Hmm I do know this Mic even though the specs don't suggest it picks up highs more than lows. Check in the sound control panel in windows for EQ settings that could effect it. Otherwise and I don't know your use case for this Mic but you could run it through an EQ in like adobe premier. If you are using this for like discord chat or something there could also be EQ settings you could play around with until you like the sound. A higher quality audio interface will also improve the quality quite a bit
@@randombitz2975 Ok a big problem is (I forgot to name it) that my PC is a bit loud and the microphone picks up the fan noise all the time. Can I do something about that?
@@itstrickipvp6431 Yes you can I will be making a video shortly about how to remove background noise using audacity so I recommend sticking around for that.
I bought one but this video shows a boom arm and pop filter which it didn’t say it came with in the description of the item so I ended buying those separately. Hopefully amazon will take back the extras
All my lights are on on sound card but no sound coming out of it when i speak into bm800 the lights are moving and all lit up but no sound any help please
@PureZzzASMR Then let me be more precise: if you connect a condenser microphone to a phone or tablet directly there are 2 possible outcomes: 1. it will work but very very quietly, 2. it will not work at all. If you connect it through a proper phantom power supply there are 2 different possible outcomes: 1. it will actually work, 2. it will blow up your phone's audio chip or (if you're lucky) some resistor along the way. So it's not like you can't do it, it's just not what these devices are intended for so unless you were to find someone who tried it and you trust this person's claim that everything worked okay and the phone survived, I wouldn't risk it.
Don’t by USB microphones if your are recording videos and record the video and audio separately. They are going to be out of sync. It is much better to focus on XLR balanced microphones.
The audio interface that I used was called the Bengoo usb sound card but they no longer sell that model. This appears to be the same model that I have just sold by a different company. www.amazon.com/TechRise-External-Adapter-Splitter-Converter/dp/B01J7P0OGI/ref=sr_1_5?_encoding=UTF8&tag=am_cheetah_tile_ama-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=f7e4f73c9ce582d6d48f53f8208c8634&camp=1789&creative=9325&crid=3QCPGS1EY1NPE&dchild=1&keywords=usb+sound+card&qid=1608878638&sprefix=usb+so%2Caps%2C197&sr=8-5
In this case the power supply will make the mic louder which will allow you to turn the gain down and reduce background noise some. This mic doesn't require the power supply to work like other mics but it does help a bit.
I bhought this mic to make vocals on fl studio but it catches a lot of the high frequencies and the outcome is not that great i've been using it for a long time but after mixing the voice, no matter what, it still sounds muddy and kinda bad. I don't know what's the problem
Unfortunately I bought it, but it doesn't includes the phant. If power supply... It is useless. I did not get the same accessories you showed, direct input as microphone input to pc or Android mobile But it is not working for mobile, Sound looks below normally for laptop in Recoding, default recording in laptop works better.... I disappointed... Got a big size microphone with small effeciency ... Not recommended @ all
You could use this mic without either there is a cable to go from XLR to 3.5mm but your mileage may vary I tried this and it was so quiet I couldn't hear my voice in the recording. Hope this helped :)
The kit I reviewed here outputs a 3.5mm jack and if you want to plug it into a computer you would need a 3.5mm to usb external sound card. To use it on a ps4 you would need a TRRS mic headset splitter and this would allow you to plug the mic into the controller. There are many ways to do this but both should be possible.

This is by far the most complete unboxing video, great job, all questions were asked duering the video

Thanks! Would be useful to hear the comparison of the mic using the power supply vs plugging it directly into the computer.
“Next out of the box” “next out of the box” lol. Thank you
Lol

I'd suggest using a on board dashboard you can adjust the hissing noise out by downloading one

Good video.
Question. So where exactly did you plug the other end of the XLR cable, meaning, the 3.5 millimeter end, to your computer?
17:05 can u post a link to the sound card or one that you recommend using with the mic
best unboxing / review please dont stop making videos

I was thinking of getting one but I am not going to if I need to buy anything extra, I am going to be using this on console
17:58 what you used pls share a link
I purchesd the same Audio interface like you, but you Mic sounds so much better. Why?
Hmm what is the actual problem is it background noise, distortion, too quiet, etc? This might help me understand the problem your having.
My voice sounds a lot higher than normal and it just doesn't sound nice.

I was just using Audacity but you can use any software you like

@Flamingo ight
For future readers: no, condenser microphones don't work with phones or tablets.

USB version of the NW-8000 is way more convenient and equal in sound

How would u use this with an Interface??
just use an interface with phantom power
I don’t know much about microphones but do u need a power supply to use it or do can you just plug it straight into your pc
U do
Do you absolutely need the Volt thing in order for it to work?
Yes it is unfortunately, without it the audio will be so quiet you wont be able to hear anything.
Could i plug in the microphone jack into a splitter?
rxven yes
Thank u so much
Is there a silver color?
Yup
you over payed massively
Can someone tell me of it will work if i got a split decider and use it on my xbox? Will it work?
It won't unless you use a line level mixing board.
Do I need power supply or can I plug it in to my pc and record
you need the power supply
yes
Nice
the chrome peace doesnt come off
Does this work on iPhone 11?
It can, but you'll need a soundcard or a iPhone to USB adapter for the input of the microphone. It doesn't come with the appropriate adapters
Can you use headphones and this mic at the same time?
Why wouldn’t you
do you need a phantom power and a usb adapter?

my nw 800 sounfs like trash tbh

Not helping, my microphone is the same and I have different parts.
