I have a LOT of respect for Ed Sheeran. He is the only act that I know that can fill a 65,000 seat stadium and then do a 2 hour show that consists of him, a guitar and a loop pedal and NOTHING else. No band. No back up singers. No light show. Just him and a guitar. And then the crowd still demands encores. When you do an show like that, you have nowhere to hide. You had better be damned good. In the age of autotune and lip synch this is so rare.
Ed Sheeran is legit. Nearly all of his songs are excellent choices for either a wedding/graduation/funeral/or as a movie soundtrack 😂 All aspiring singers have done at least one Ed Sheeran cover 😂 Not only a great singer, but a talented songwriter.

Van was however, unlike Ed, a far more surly, brooding kind of guy who always seemed to have an antagonistic relationship with his audiences. Hopefully the years have mellowed him. I bought is album with Joey DeFrancesco which for me was only fair. Joey is a marvel though.

This is the dream. To have a person whose spirit is so powerful that the connection between the 2 is deeper than the physical. Can you be there for each other for the rest of your lives, when things start falling apart physically - because your love is DEEPER than the external. LOVE IT!

I love too many to choose, but "Perfect" or "Galway Girl" are right at the top. I like Galway Girl because it has an Irish feel to it & being mostly Irish, I love the music (though I don't drink & can't relate to those lyrics, it's still a very fun song). Perfect because it's so relatable- his lyrics, " we were just kids when we fell in love", reminds me of my husband & I since we were 1st loves & I was 15. Please listen to more of him, you won't be disappointed. The whole "Divide" album is great.

I would really love to see Supermarket Flowers -Ed Sheeran. It was played at my mom's funeral and her best friend of 62 years passed away less than a year later and they decided to play it at her funeral as well.

He is so diverse. Every album is excellent and he purposefully makes each one different. He writes all his music. You should check out the official version of "Galway Girl" where he raps! Most of his music has an R&B feel, love him, one of my favorite artists. I do love his autobiographical ones, my favorite still is Castle on the Hill.
