Arent raptors stronger on dex ? Seems 70 dex has ~30 more ar then 70 str. But probably natural physical res are lower on dex so it will balance it out.
Recoveries from actions in DS3/ER are not short, are simply non existant, and there's a reason for it, PVE difficulty is mostly emergent from bullshit unpredictable combos that never end and iterate from bosses, you need extremely quick recovery to be able to poke hits in small windows of opportunity and to spam rolls too, else it would be unplayable. Adapting to that has nuked PvP from dark souls2, where timings were much more meaningful and punishing actions was a thing, even consistent roll catching, even exhausting their stamina.
A curse from infinite superarmor bosses as a whole. Maybe in 50 years, better ai will be a goal again and mobs won't need insanely powercrept stats that devolves the gameplay.
Skill level and mastery of the fundamentals is incredible, but sometimes it's like watching Barcelona and Real Madrid play tippy tappy football in the Champions League Final. I understand why, but it's not very exciting to watch.
Passivity in souls has always been prevalent. My bet is on the instant turning speed being at fault, allowing easy evasion and easy whiff punish at the same time.

I think pretty much any FG player could watch this video and instantly identify the problems with the design, namely that defensive options (like rolling, and locked-on backwards sprinting) are ridiculously overtuned, which makes aggressive play too risky. This DEN map at least tries to be a corrective to FromSoft's arena by having closer edges and corners, but changing the shape of the arena can't overcome these fundamental issues with the game.

@@JohnU1515 It "keeps priority" for weapons that can't normally do that, which in fighting game terms means it creates an unfair amount of frame advantage. It's also fast and has a lot of range on top of that.

The tourney requires you to level past your RL 125 character's normal vigor to get 99 vigor for longer fights (they do this in ER because damage is so unbalanced in ER the fights aren't long enough. DS3 didn't need it because damage was more balanced). They both run 58 vigor on their RL 125 with Imp Head (Lion) to get 60 so they go to 97 to achieve 99 with Imp Head (Lion)
@@hideyasuyuki1 tl;dr -> strength w/ two-handed sword talisman + new greases = better than dex, keen or lightning Yeah, since heavy two-handed weapons with grease have always been better for 80% of infusable setups, the two-handed sword talisman and new greases push it over the edge and it's better than dex at almost everything when when you lightning infuse. Dex is only still better for a few setups like urumi, raptor talons (yes the guy in the video could have been even more dominate with a dex build. I assume he prefers str setups overall more than dex but came prepared with raptors since he likes the matchup against shamshir), guardian sword spear, and backlhand blades (which are probably either banned or the ashes swift slash and blind spot are banned if you use them making them not competitive). Rakshasa is the only other pvp competitive setup i think for dex but it's probably also banned because of the buff to its ash of war weed cutter (which if you don't know does too much damage, frame traps with just the click of an L2 bc its two separate swings, can tank a colossal sword with its hyper armor, can be chained with automatically timed rollcatches by spamming L2, while also automatically rollcatching out of every normal attack on the weapon, and only costs 8 fp each time :). So it better be banned. No double banned actually)
@ The extent in which strength is superior to Dex is marginal at best. In this circumstance it’s probably definitive since Raksasha is probably banned and BHB (with blindspot) which both preform better on Dex. Ultimate it comes down to preference since outside of specific set ups like heavy clean rot sword neither is overwhelming superior.
There was also a guy using dryleaf arts, and a guy with an arcane faith caster with the silver mask and 26 mind. There is variety but you just didn't see it

This same type of play was common in DS3 too, what was meta level PK use if not passive curved sword bullshit? Things are higher tuned in ER than DS3 for sure, but they are wholly different games. No one or the other is better or sucks less. People bitched about things when DS3 was where the majority of PvP was happening. They bitched about DS1 and DS2 as well.
Im not complaining that the pkaystyle exists, ds3 pvp is better hands down and more entertaining. Ds3 allowed you the tools to counter any playstyle. The unique poise system that was hyperarmor was perfect against this style of curved sword space whiff punish playstyle. It was so easy to bait them. But this doesnt exist in ER, they decided that weapon arts should be custom, that they should abandon the orginal poise system that was better for a half baked ds3 poise system. Its a unfinished mess because they allowed such freedom in customizable pvp that they will never fix even a fraction of it. So now there are no counters to these kind of playstyles and its just all slow paced deal with playstyles. Ds3 got so much love in pvp man, ER is unfinished and wont be finished, its harf ti take any kind of competetive play and tourneys like these seriously or have meaning

Most tournaments have the OP ashes like endure bhs and sometimes flaming strike banned so It's better to use your l2 as a mix up.

cleanrot should only be banned when combined with BHS or quickstep. I've beaten plenty of Cleanrot users with Shamshir, it isn't broken on its own
Cleanrot is legit busted even without bhs, shit hits you from over a mile.
