Hi, Vic Firth dude. You're super cool! However, the term 'special effects' is not something that should apply to high-level music. The proper term is 'extended techniques'. Even cinema artists in Hollywood resent the term 'special effects' and try to replace that misleading term with 'CG' (computer graphics), because that term actually describes their craft and doesn't cheapen it. So please, "extended techniques". :D :D :D
