Loved the interview! Hope That Luca can somehow put the material that was edited out due to size constraints can be included in a future book. I’m currently reading his latest and it’s terrific. Looking forward to Volume 2 and 3. Thanks to both for mentioning ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ and ‘High In the Clouds’. That’s 30 more Macca tunes (approximately). This was a very informative discussion. Hoping Luca returns to cover 1980-1989! Thanks Ken and Luca!
Great interview! I got the book a few weeks ago and just started going through it. It looks like a great read just like Luca’s previous book. Looking forward to diving into and reading it. Thanks!
I know Paul mentioned in an interview a few year ago that there is enough songs for a multi album of "soundcheck" songs. Apparently soundchecks have been recorded since the early days of Wings!!
If the start of the Australian song mentioned does lift the opening of Oh Darling, perhaps Paul noticed that and thought it would be a bullet-proof riposte to lift the opening lyric of that same song for Big Barn Bed?
An excellent episode. Luca is a first rate guest. Paul clearly listens far too much to what people tell him they like of his, including his children's friends, apparently, and not concentrating on what he himself really likes. It's a shame that songs like Getting Closer had such a short shelf life played live, and that he virtually ignores great songs on albums like Back to the Egg when releasing compilations or playing live simply because they were songs on albums which didn't reach the top of the charts. Paul's music is often top drawer on every album, yet he chooses to forget most of it once it's been recorded and released.
I haven't heard anything. He's kept it pretty quiet, other than saying he's been working with producer Andrew Watt. I'm still wondering about It's A Wonderful Life and High In The Clouds. You know he can't sit still for too long!
McCartney doesn't seem to get much credit for his incredible musical versatility. Bowie does in spades but when McCartney does a similar thing the music press say that he has lost direction.
Thank you, Ken for a great interview with Luca!!!
Hi Ken, Luca has provided 2 essential books for all Paul fans.A must buy.
Excellent interview. I highly recommend the book!
Two knowledgeable and nice guys with very good soothing voices.
Nice discussion, especially Luca's thoughts about matching Paul's music with different moods, very nice. Thanks much!
GREAT and enjoyable interview Ken and Luca. I have the book and have been using it as a reference coffee book

Yes! I know he's mentioned it. Let's see if it ever happens. I'd really look forward to that!

Ken do you have any idea if Paul is working on a new album?
