Mine has a 5.3 LS in it. Same truck just a better motor, that was a bitch to do though I wish I had said fuck that and went with a 4 door Tacoma with a LS swap, easier, cheaper, lighter truck, more aftermarket support. Now I look like a weirdo with a mid size 4 door 4x4 with IFS LS swapped and all custom fabbed front end diff, and soon to come step bar sliders and maybe some custom bumpers. Shave the rear bumper and put a off road bumper up front with more clearance. I'm going to be on 35s with only a 3 inch lift so it's going to sit very flush custom fenders it's a very, very pricey project... When I could have got a Tacoma, but now I'm definitely different I guess. Do yourself a favor and either 5.7 Hemi swap the Dakota, or sell it and lose all the frustration of shitty suspension, no aftermarket support, shitty factory motors and transmissions, and most Dakota's no matter how nice they look are usually some Reason half ass rigged. I bought mine looked brand new drove it home, fucked up the entire engine beyond repair and I crawled under the truck and it was missing 4 out of 6 of the cab mounts. No bolts or anything and I found a leak somewhere in the windows because now it's entirely molded and this truck looked like a brand new pickup
