  • "Prolific" doesn't really seem to cover the career of writer Dan Abnett - from decades of writing for 2000 AD to his prominent work for Marvel UK, Marvel and DC, and bestselling novels for the Warhammer 40K universe, his career has been marked by both quantity and quality.
Dan returns to the The 2000 AD Thrill-Cast for a retrospective on his career (so far) and he talks to Molch-R about deadlines, managing creativity, slow-burn storytelling, the changing face of the industry, and coming up with endless puns.
The 2000 AD Thrill-Cast is the award-winning podcast that takes you behind-the-scenes at the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic with creator interviews, panels, and more! To be fair, Dan's wiki page reads he was born in Rochdale, but the quick facts section is correct.

Some writers tend to marmelade the zeitgeist in and it just gets so boring when everything is about the same things. Obviously the zeitgeist will have an effect on everyone through osmosis alone, but as far as I've seen it, Mr. Abnett has never made it seem obvious.

Great conversation that flew by thanks to his enthusiasm. As a U.K. comics reader of old, it was equally fascinating to hear about the Marvel U.K. and Toxic stuff. My first encounter with Marshall Law was in Strip, which he mentioned as editing. Top stuff!!!!

It's kind of easy to forget how long Dan Abnett has been writing. Period.
I remember reading translations of some his first outing for Marvel Comics around 1996.

Hello, I have a question regarding a story I believe was in 2000 AD. There were two main characters in a mechanical snake, fighting some robotic knights. Does any of that ring a bell regarding the name of the story and where it could possibly be found? Thank you!
