For some reason Honda made the CRF150F to meet EPA emissions. The bike comes extremely lean right from the factory. So much so that Honda issued a service bulletin with instructions on how to de-restrict the bike. The process for de-restricting the bike involves removing an insert from the muffler (not the whole spark arrestor), removing the snorkel from the top of the airbox (it just pulls out) and rejetting the carb. Rejetting the carb involves replacing the #40 pilot with a #42 pilot. Replacing the #95 main jet with a #115 main jet. Replacing the needle with the Honda "power-up" needle. I found the #115 main to be a bit too rich. I ended up going with a #110 main on my niece's bike. Also I believe some suggest to put the clip on the 4th slot down on the power-up needle. Again I found that to be too rich so I went with the middle slot. What a difference! The bike starts and idles soooo much better. It has a noticeable amount more grunt everywhere. The top-end is much improved. I highly recommend you do this and re-review it.
+KE8AMR Thanks for the info unfortunately the CRF was not mine I was taking someone else's for a spin. Good info and yes I was surprsied you mention go from 95 to 115 that seems like a lot.
this is really interesting! just bought an 03 crf150f recently for very cheap, and would love to look into this. i’m going to start researching. thanks for sharing some knowledge!
I am an adult that rides a 2005 CRF 150F. It is a great bike which I primarily use for trail riding. Easy to manage and can transport long ways in a 6'8" bed.
@@KTB3007 im 225. Depends on what you mean by "hill" .Again, I trail ride in the mountains and desert exploring mine, abondoned train tracks etc. That said, I have no problem following Jeep trails or foot trails on hard dirt. I have a family and a job that needs me so Im not trying to relive my teenage years by hill-climbing or catching air. Other than that the bikes works for me. Compression is low enough that kicking the bike over is easy and height/weight of the bike is such that I can control the bike when negotiating tight areas.
It's Stonyford OHV near Stonyford, California. It's part of the Mendocino National Forest. It's an awesome place to ride but you should be proficient in climbing and riding down hills.
Somebody please tell me if the height of the yamaha ttr125 is the same as the sling crf 150f or the yamaha is small is that I think to buy one if God allows and also tell me that I can not or can not handle using these motorcycles on highways They tell me that I have to drive on bad roads because if I use it on roads the engine burns please let somebody tell me that they have a motorcycle
i own both. the crf150f has a seat height of 32 and a half inches and the ttrs is about 30. im 5'7 125 pounds and when i sit on the ttr, it slumps a bit and i flat foot with knee bending room. but for the crf it doesnt slump and im still flat foot (barely)
Yeah I just like smaller bikes. It's like a double edge sword its lighter, smaller, easier to handle but it kind of takes more effort to ride it because it's ergos aren't good for my size.
Who says you have to get a certain bike? Who makes up these rules? 🙄I love my Crf150f. Could’ve got a 230f or 250 but I chose the 150f because I like it. I’m 47 years old and 5,8 -135 lbs and disabled (right leg/foot) so I have no balance really so if I had to muscle the bike or push it or something, a 250 or bigger would be a problem. Riding it no problem. It seems like people try n bike shame people on here and fb pages. “Oh my YZ 250 will kill that 150f , get a real bike” like wtf? Gtfoh with that nonsense. Live n let live. There’s no rules here

Done every thing but re Jet it. Notice difference even before the jets
The CRF 150R and the CRF 150F are night and day
Glad that the bike changed your mind from "it's a kids bike" to "i"m jealous of this bike!". Looking to buy one next year.
Yeah its really fun to ride, if I didn't have my KLX or was looking for another similar bike this'd be the one. =)

Pretty cool review to get me motivated to work on getting my crf150f up and going and go to cleghorn trails

That place looks so fun to ride. Where is Stonyford?

Lived in Mendocino from 91-93 and worked on a boat diving for abalone and sea urchin. Beautiful country tho
The bike is good you just don't now how to ride
Hahaha
I'm 5'5 am I a good size for this bike? I want to get it for my first dirt bike
This is bike might fit you, it best if you try to sit on one first.
@@hadesomegamoto7639 thx
Its a great 1st bike to own. Resale is good when you want to upgrade

Cruz Alberto Sohom ttr is way smaller. riding on the road won't kill the engine, just your tires

and i recommend the 150 for the street use if u want to. dont use the ttr tho, it will overheat too quickly.
How fast can this bike go
I never got to try but if it is like my KLX140 it can go about 55mph top speed
Where was this place
This is Stonyford OHV near Stonyford, California in the Mendocino Forest
What is maks speed?
Eevert Leino I got 60 full throttle 5th gear
My crf blew up😔
That sucks how did you manage to do that?
@@hadesomegamoto7639 I have no clue it was my first bike bought it used never had one since
sounds like a fucking electric lawn mower
Maybe if you took it out of 2nd it would be faster
He needs practice
Why don’t you get a 250 or 450? Ur way too big for that bike. Unless u just like the smaller bikes.
