  • This video will discuss the Superior Electric Powerstat Variable Autotransformer (model no. 116), specifically how it works and how I repaired the unit shown in the video. I will also open up this unit to help illustrate the theory on how autotransformers work.

    Nice job. My Dad has a model 116 Powerstat that is all black and goes up to 135 volts. It is older than yours, but don't know how old. It still works. Probably 1950's to early 60's

    Nice video, I’ve got the3PN116B model, O-140 volt, 10 amp. Can you tell me which types of single phase motors they can control? I’d like to control a Bench Grinder and small Vertical Band Saw. Thx.

    Very good video. I got one of these in an estate sale and it does not work. I am hoping with the information that I learned I can get it working.
