- I have started to try and sort, tidy and declutter my craft room many times now and a couple of weeks ago, I finally started. Now I have some swing space I can get into the Art Cupboard and start deciding what to keep and what to let go! I think I might have too many hobbies! It's time to declutter the craft room!

Finally we get to see what's in the depths of the 'Art cupboard' 😵💫 I watched all your old declutter videos hoping to have a good old nosy but alas, the secrets of the cupboard remained hidden 🤣

@purplelorain6180 Haha and it's just got manic at work too! I hope to get at least 1 declutter video out a week but 70h work weeks are killer! All I have the energy to do at the weekend is get the shopping & laundry done... and just about keep on top of the cleaning 😆

I had a massive craft "stuff" declutter earlier this year. I packed up my entire craft room into moving boxes (we're not moving, I just wanted to decorate and get new furniture). Lets just say the ladies at the age concern charity shop near me, get VERY excited when they see me. One day I will finish decorating that room and I will buy new furniture. one day.
@kez193 that's exactly what I did the last time, I packed everything up in boxes and decorated the room. I've just ended up acquiring more stuff since then 🫣
When I decluttered the local hospice shop emailed to say they had raised over £400 from my stuff. It felt very good to benefit them😊
Aww that's wonderful Judith. We did similar when we cleared out my mother-in-laws craft stuff, we gave it to Great Ormond Street Hospital. The man came round to take a look in his car and said, "I'll come back with the van!" 🥰

@audreyshaw2463 Yeah crazy time at work again, feeling pretty exhausted. One more day today (big one, in the city) and then I'm off for a few days (need the break!).
It is hard to move about without any motion (how do you cope on your cruises?!). A couple of the tins I'm going to keep for storing stuffs. Hugs duly distributed! 🥰

I am with u. My son always say I have too many stuff. But being retired, I find myself falling back and forth between all my different hobbies. It Keep me busy busy and I am never board. It is nice to have a variety and to try new things. Keep up the good work and enjoy them all. And to redecorate your room again, is also a sort of hobby!

Hi lily that’s amazing you got some amazing hobbies I’ve got adult colouring mixed media scrapbooking I have all the old cutters from creative memories I even kept them in boxes.. my newest hobby is watercolour.. can’t wait for the next video to come out too cause this is fun watching u go though your items.. ❤❤❤😊😊😊😊xxxxx

I spent the last two days having a declutter...I didn't realize how much colouring stuff I'd amassed

@rach1972 Aww, Sindy was the best! I only had one and my brother's Action Man accidently decapitated her... well that's what he said! We had so little as children, I kept it all. Fits in one small box. Yeah... the backup sets were before I realised all Chinese pencils are the same, I now have 4 million of the same thing 😅
Brilliant video Lily, thank you for sharing. I've decluttered my craft room & got rid of about 40% of my stuff. I enjoyed it briefly but now its full untidy & cluttered again 😢

Watching this video seemed very familiar... I recently sorted out my tiny workroom after I gave up making junk journals to sell (although I still make them for pleasure/gifts). I took the opportunity to make space for my bead jewellery making stuff which was languishing in the garage...
I too have kept the tins from my various pencil sets. The reason was, I saw a RUclips video that showed me how to make a watercolour palette filled with half pans from an old pencil tin. I'll get around to it one day😄
@carolmikolj5134 I'm so pleased it's not just me that flows between hobbies! I was surprised it was that many years ago that I was in that cupboard though!! 🥰
It's so hard to organize your treasures when new things keep wandering into your space!😅 I'm hoping to use your video as motivation to organize my mess and have a bit more order in this chaos.💗 Oh, the back ups. I do that too when I get favorites and i worry I'll never find them again. Sometimes i won't use things until I've secured a back up. 😅 I need to stop doing this!🥴 I love how excited you are as you go through everything and find old favorites!😊

Ohhh my, Lily! I tought i had a lot of stuff, well you win!!!😂😂😂. In the early days, at least 15 years ago i bought frequently a lot of yarn and now i am knitting and crocheting a lot to get rid of the stash, it works verry well!! I also have a lot of waterbased markers, because i love to do color by number, but not anymore so and i am trying to use them up. So don’t worry, everybody has something to declutter😊

Another keeper of tins and packaging here! 😳 And I also have many hobbies although not as many as you. Which is a good thing because I don’t have a craft room, I have kallax ,ottomans and clear plastic drawers to store it in. I call it my wall of crap! 🤣 Are we all hobby addicts here as this feels very much like a meeting! 🤣 Looking forward to part 2 x

Just got through doing a declutter yesterday. Was able to give almost a full room of materials to a group of women who homeschool. Alas, just kept coloring materials and some coloring books. Don’t know if I’m happy or sad at this point. I wish you luck!

If you don't want to throw away your tins u could put stuff in there so you'll have some room I got rid of mine . But in saying that 😂I did get u some amazing gel pens you didn't have 😅

You can tell its the room of a true artist , You are like me I have many hobbies and just have to be busy doing things that let me be creative its what makes me happy and I want to limit the pencils, paints , diamond art etc but always find I return to them so I say just organize and really the room is not bad 😊 you also need stuff for you tube videos so you have an excuse 😅 I have no excuse lol
@DiamondKat Exactly Kat. It's the only room in the house that I use for my hobbies and I like that I dip into things that fill my creative tank. Its also the only messy room in the house, so let's call it "creative freedom" 😁🥰
😅 well said and good luck. I did a declutter awhile back but ended up having to re buy things because I wanted to get back into a hobby that I had not done in years ( quilting) and I gave all my fabric away , bought more and messed with it maybe a week and went back to other things 😂 take care 😊❤

I’m so glad I’m not the only one that keeps the packaging and tins of pencil sets 😂 To be fair, I’ve only just put sets I bought years ago into new pencil cases to start using them. I wanted to start adult colouring a long time ago but didn’t have any spare time, now I have and I’m getting back into crafting and adult colouring but I’ve still kept the tins…….just in case…….😬😂

I am soooo glad you pointed out the smurfs!! I have a box of smurfs too which drives my partner insane. I somehow ended up with all of my older siblings’ collections + mine and I am not able to get rid of it, hahahaha. Thankfully I just started training as an integrative arts therapist and if all goes well and I do become a therapist I could put them to very good use for sandplay therapy (it’s a therapy modality that involves using lots of figurines) 😀 now I feel justified in keeping them…
I also feel better about keeping empty tins of art supplies (TBF I often do use them for other things!)
Aaand… I just realised you appear to be local, too. Are you me? 😂 ( though I am an adopted Haringey-er - I am originally not from the UK, but I have lived here the longest of anywhere else)
@gertietheduck Ooo Integrative Art Therapy sounds great! Is it for adults or children or both? I'm in the London Borough of Redbridge, so not too far. I used to run a scrapbooking club in Enfield!
@@ArtJourneyUK it can be for either or both but it depends on the training one chooses to undergo (there are slightly different postgraduate routes) as working with children requires specific training. I am just at the very beginning of my journey, though! Sandplay can be effective for adults too! As an art form, it’s almost like you are directing a miniature play, or creating a tiny installation. On my course we study different therapy modalities using the arts, so not just therapy using drawing and painting (so it’s integrative both in terms of the therapies studied and the art forms used). I have watched a couple of your videos before (particularly enjoyed your investigative pencils one, haha) and never realised you had a background in psychology! Congrats!
@gertietheduck Interesting! My career background (and current career) is in IT but I did Psychology as a passion degree. There is so much neurodiversity now I wanted to better understand what needs people may have. It definitely helped me understand individual team members better and, I hope, be a more empathetic manager.
Ooooo you have some lovely things squirrelled away Lily. Really enjoyed mooching through your cupboard with you. I’ve just counted and I have around 13 hobbies oops. I love junk journaling - my grandson and I go through my recycle bin to find treasures for our junk journals ha ha 😊

Hello! I just love your decluttering videos. It really does motivate me (at times ; ) to get up and do some myself. Collaging ?! Yes please do show if you feel like filming it. I still watch the oldie but goodies on your channel. Any chance for a Vlogmas this year lol. Will be following along on the craft room one for sure. I emptied out a bag full of paper things that I had collected for making that illusive junk journal I've been meaning to do.
