Awe thats the best! I loved when my mom used to play with my hair as a kod. I have pin straight Asian hair so Im not familiar, but what is the reason to separate curls? Is it more for aesthetic reasons, like to get multiple little curls vs less but more thick curls?
I think straight haired people don’t understand we curly haired people never brush out our hair when it’s dry. I announced that once to 3 straight haired coworkers and they were all dumbstruck

waves and curls are actually due to what shape your hair follicle is! learning about the anatomy of the hair and scalp is really interesting actually lmaoo
Some people have really perfect Goldilocks ringlets without even trying, but these curls can either be achieved by styling with a finger coiling method (usually on Type 3 hair) or with a perm rod set left to dry. I’m this case, Lauren used a perm rod to achieve these curls!

You might be using products that are too heavy. If you have finer hair (even if it’s still thick) it can get weighed down easily 💙

You could get this look with a rod set
You can perfect this with 4c hair. The frizz depends on the products or lack of product that you use

Honestly a silk rod set has been a lifesaver. No heat and decreased frizz as a wavy-haired gal here.
