The first time I got to this level and heard the music I was immediately pumped. I just said out loud "all right, let's do this"... then I immediately missed the timing on a jump and fell into a pit.

This might be my favourite track of the game. It's just a masterpiece. You can feel all sorts of things in this composition. Hope, tension, action, everything.
Arnyew enough said dude, no one can describe it more than this.
The absolute best part is that the level leads to the ultimate Black Knight battle.

Personally, I think that this track has that "showdown" feel, much like with the Wily Fortress stages in the Mega Man games.

Anytime the music gets to the climax (such as the beginning with the heroic sounding A 5th Chord, I'm expecting either an orchestral remix to suddenly kick in, or something just as equally hyping. Just imagine what this would sound like if a full on orchestra were to play it. The trumpets blaring loudly, screaming that Shovel Knight is back, a flute playing the softer sections, in reference to Shield Knight, just... God damn, it'd be awesome!
The best part about this song is that you don't even need to know about the actual level this plays in to know what's happening.
The song itself conveys that a mighty hero storming the lair of the enemy he has traveled so long and far to vanquish, he is here to end tyranny, to bring justice. To save the world. A mighty storm rages on, both in the sky, and the hero.
I died more times on the last level trying to get to the enchantress fight than actually fighting her.

martin bustos collio I've died 7 times total to the Remnant of Fate, 0 against the Corrupted Essence, and twice against Nightmare Reize. I counted.
the corrupted essence was really easy, well, easy when compared to the rest of the game
Probably my favorite track in the game next to "Fighting with All our Might". The entire soundtrack wins HARD though.
Nice, those two and strike the earth/plains of passage and flying machine are my top 4.

I had the exact same problem, because it was so hard to keep an eye on all the different things that could instantly kill you and react in a fraction of a second.

The great thing is that I loved all the music for ages before I actually got round to encountering this song recently. Like all truly great songs, you have to hear it a few times before it suddenly dawns on you: "wait a minute, this is FUCKING AWESOME!" A bit like Ron Jarzombek's We Have Controlled The Federation, but I digress.

The lyrics are actually pretty damm good. You just have to find another fan who is determined enough to sing it, some good arts, and there ya' go, a fine musical! There is already an Undertale Musical out there, so this souldn't be a problem, right?....right.... :(

I really like both soundtracks on its on terms. And yeah, Shovel Knight totally deserves it. It's a masterpiece. And if for some reason it happens, Mega Man X will have another as well. I'm working on Mega Man 3, 4, and 6 lyrics too, but I'm a little busy right now to continue XD I'll finish them, eventually.

I remember hating this song once because I couldn't get past the block crushing section... Now I love it. Untill I have to beat it on new game +. If I am already having insane troubles with The Iron Whale, then I imagine this being even worse...

Dsx I know. This stage with 2 checkpoints seems impossible to clear to me.
+awesomesmileyguy I did it recently and this level didn't really prove that much trouble to me. The hardest part of it was Black Knight doing that double damage all the time. So long as you remember enemy placement and use your relics accordingly and you stay focused, it's not that bad. Overall, in my experience, this level is not that likely to kill you through acummulated damage as much as it does through bottomless pits. Speaking of bottomless pits...

Plague Knight makes boss fights easier but platform sections way harder

Nah, this is my favorite track from the entire game.
I actually think the mole city stage music is my favorite, next to this one.
C D Before, my favorite was The Vital Vitriol, but as of Specter of Torment, it shares that spot with Hidden by Night.

Not to say that Strike The Earth is a bad song, because it's a *bad* song (as in baddass. In fact, it's up there with Central Highway), but I do believe that it is a tad overrated.
I tried to get the impossible feat, only to die here by going too far with the propeller dagger and getting crushed.

I'm a little iffy on the actual gameplay in Shovel Knight, because I felt like there were lots of cheap deaths and I get frustrated any time I try to pick it up, but I ADORE this game's music.

This game was the Undertale of 2014
*Undertale was the Shovel Knight of 2015. Undertale doesn't even compare to shovel knight honestly. Both are still good games but Shovel Knight is a much bigger and better package than undertale

I would still disagree with that. Undertale is a much bigger game. Able to be played any way you want. If you think of a way to try and break the game like sequence breaking the game just knows everything. There's still secrets that I hardly knew about. Shovel Knight is an amazing platformer. I'm working on 100%ing it but that fucking achievement to beat it without dying. But Undertale won a place in my heart (that it destroyed) that I probably won't ever forget. I mean, it tackles subjects like homosexuality, suicide, even transgender and weaboos. Calling it better is up to your opinion but Shovel Knight just isn't as big. (size wise)
